Some people hold the opinion that only the workers holding senior positions should have the right to take decisions in a business, whereas, on the other hand, others are firm believers of the fact that other employees should be a part of making decisions as well. In my opinion, both the stances have their own set of repercussions and this essay will discuss about the same.

Leading and running a business requires one to have a certain level of expertise to ensure the smooth run and positive outcomes in the long run. Although mistakes provide you a lesson and experience, which is beneficial in long term, a business cannot afford constant unnecessary mistakes or it might prove to be be blunder for the company. Therefore, when it comes to making essential decisions for the company, we often expect the seniors in the leadership roles to make the necessary decisions, keeping in mind the profit of the company, as these seniors, owing to the experience and knowledge they possess in a particular field, are more likely to make a desirable decision than someone who is still a rookie. As a result, the seniors might be considered the only preferable people to be allowed to take important decisions.

On the other hand, another fact to be kept in mind is that a company possess other employees as well, who are putting as much efforts in a company, as a senior does, or sometimes even more. So it feels fair to involve them equally into the decision making process as well. Even though they might not have the same level of expertise and experience as a senior does, but having more people can bring more ideas, opinions and solutions, resulting into a better decision perhaps. Having the opinions of other colleagues can let you come up with more diverse ideas as these people have their fair share of knowledge too.

Having mentioned both the stances, in my opinion, it is a better idea to involve other suitable employees in the decision making process as well, along with the seniors as it is very natural for even highly skilled and experienced people to commit mistakes too, in certain circumstances, so it might be a fruitful idea to involve the minds and intellect of other employees as well, which can certainly lead to a profitable decision for the company.
