These days. more and more parents are sending their young ones abroad for their studies. Good social networking is a great boon in doing so, on the other hand, there are a lot of risks involved as well.

One of the biggest advantages is having a strong international social network, wherein they can expose themselves to varied people from different nationalities and walks of life. This exposure will usually help in developing great interpersonal and good leadership qualities. Another advantage is getting quality education from world-renown universities. The syllabus of top universities is well in tune with the industry standards, which will help in career and will also be a highlight for potential recruiters, which can be seen in the current employment market. examples of great CEOs in tech companies like Microsoft, Google, Twitter and, oracle are examples of these achievements.

Contradictorily, there is a higher risk involved in studying abroad, consider the scenario, wherein the person realizes the course is not for him after doing this great commitment of coming abroad for education, the person is at a total loss. Another high risk is the financial commitments the family has to go through. A lot of parents are taking loans for their kid’s education and many a time are in financial crisis, with an uncertainty of the future. We can see a lot of asset seizures these days due to loan defaults taken out for education, or living with peanuts after paying off the debts.

In conclusion, the strong development path that is provided from strong networking to career growth can be seen as a principal advantage for studying abroad, But the higher risk involved personally and financially can be considered as the key disadvantage.
