Many argue that people should act in accordance with the culture of the place they are visiting, It seems the more most apt thing to do while on vacation. This essay will look into the importance of respecting different cultures and traditions of different people when we abroad, and opine my opinions in conclusion.
To begin with, there are certain countries whose cultures are completely opposite of the rest of the world. For example, In Saudia Arabia, women and men are required to wear modest clothes whenever they go out in public. So whenever, a person visiting from abroad is visiting the country has to be mindful of this rule. Thus, it is important to be respectful towards the law of the country and abide them. Similarly, when people visit another country, its mostly to explore their culture and food. For instance, many tourists visit Thailand mainly for their unique food taste that they cannot find elsewhere, so I believe its ideal to eat local food while we visit a new country.
But it’s not necessary to adhere all the customs, like taking the example of Saudia Arabia, it is compulsory for Saudi women to wear hijab in public, but if we are visiting in the country, we should not change our appearance just to blend in it. Similarly, many people try to adopt the language by copying the local’s accent, which can in many cases offend the locals and they find it as their mimicry. For example, Many people trying to learn Arabic words but not pronouncing it clearly might tick off many Arabs.
To sum up, I believe, it is good to adapt to local culture by eating their food and being respectful towards their religious beliefs but we have to be careful while doing so that it should not look like we are tyring imitate them.

Band 8.5 Answer
Nowadays, travelling become popular and easy compared to the past. Some people believe that visitors should follow the traditions of the host country where they visit. In my opinion, I partly agree with this and I will explain more details in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, every country is trying to improve and promote their tourism industry with various methods. There is no doubt that guests need to respect the country’s traditions where they travel. Moreover, they need to learn and practice the local’s customs like dressing properly and not going the prohibited areas. Otherwise, they can be unsafe and discriminated against by the people from the host country. For example, some countries do not allow to wear normal clothes for women due to their customs. If the visitors fail to do that kind of restriction, they can be endangered and punished by the respective government or society.
On the other hand, there would be difficult for foreigners to follow all the customs because every region has their own unique culture. In addition, if the visitors are paying attention to the local community’s disciplines then they may not enjoy their trip. To solve this kind of issue, they should inspect local traditions before they go to that place. For instance, they can search some restricted key items and areas online before they travel to that location .
To conclude, people should understand and behave appropriately when they travel to other countries or regions. In my opinion, even though ethics and manners are based on a person’s attitudes, we have to interact friendly with the locals where we are going .

Deleted UserNovember 8, 2021 at 8:59 PMIn these days, people often travel to other countries. However, many argue that people should follow the custom and styles of the host country. I partly agree with the above statement and I will explain my reasons in detail in the succeeding paragraphs.
Firstly, each country in the universe has a different culture and separate traditions backed by religion and historical believes they got from their ancestor. They feel very bad and insulted, in case people around them or visitors does not follow these traditions or make fun of these traditions. For example – In Gulf Countries, women wear black cloth which covered their whole body from head to feet. Tourists may follow these customs and clothing style while visiting these countries so that they will not suffer any discrimination during their time in that country.
On the other hand, in case of tourists will spend more time in learning the customs and clothing style of the visiting country, there will be no time for enjoying the trip. Tourists always avoid travelling to those countries which imposed strict regulations related to their customs. For Eg. except Dubai Foreigners avoid travelling to other gulf countries because of their strict regulation related to customs.
To conclude, I would like to say that, tourists should respect the traditions of the host countries, however, it should not be made mandatory by governments to follow them at any cost.

Visitors do not follow these traditions…
Women wear black clothes which cover their whole body…

Feedback: structure is sound and clear. Need to work upon your grammatical accuracy. All the errors mentioned above are very simple things to look out for.

Deleted UserNovember 8, 2021 at 9:14 PMNowadays people love to spend holidays in other countries, Some of them believes that they must know the customs of a particular place so that they can mix up with the local crowd, This essay will argue that all the tourist who visits any country must aware of the culture but should not waste time to learn or opt the things completely.
To start with, In the current scenario, everyone wants to spend holidays in foreign counties, And before they visit the place they must aware of the culture, language, food and etc so that they can spend their holiday peacefully for instance if somebody plan to visit Russia they are going to face a little challenge about the language because in Russia local people do not speak or understand English.
On the other hand, If you will think too much about the other country culture or if you try to follow the same, It will be more pressure on you while holidaying, you cant enjoy on maximum time, Also if you pretend they might not like you, They may think that you are making fun of them. For example, if you visit Saudi Arabia, you can not drink alcohol it’s against their culture, But you can also not offer a prayer as they do.
In conclusion, People must aware of the culture of the county they visit so that they stay and enjoy the place and they must respect the same, But should not try to follow all.
-
Some of them believe that they must know..
Who visits any country must be aware of the culture…
Before they visit the place they must be aware of the culture
If somebody plans to visit Russia
Too much about the other country’s culture..
You cannot drink alcohol as/since it’s against the culture
Feedback: its structure is good enough however there are so many grammatical errors that we need to take care of. Also you need to work upon your lexical resources and sentence complexity. Grammar range also needs a lot of work, need to try and make more complex and compound sentences with some linking words.

Deleted UserNovember 8, 2021 at 9:17 PMSome suggest that people visiting another country should observe the customs and eating habits followed in that country. I totally agree to this idea because a country is made rich and colourful by it’s customs and practices.
One one hand, there is an argument that there is an amplitude of different social practices in different countries which is extremely difficult for one person to follow all of them. A person visiting a different country might be new to the customs or religious practices of that particular country and instead of following them wrongly and disrespecting them, it is sensible to not follow them at all. For example. An American visiting India for the first time might not be fimiliar to the dress code in a temple, so rather than being furious on the American for his lack of knowledge, it is best to impart some knowledge with open mind.
On the other hand, I believe that a country is usually known from the traditions and cultural and social practices that they follow and a visitor must respect and try to follow such rules and practices. A person must try his best to blend in with the people of the country by respecting and obeying the rules that they follow. For example, a person visiting an Arab country should research about it’s people’s customs and eating habits to avoid any cultural shocks. He should learn that it is compulsory to follow a strict dress code in public places which might otherwise hurt their citizen’s sentiments.
To conclude, a person visiting a country must learn about the country’s customs and practices that he is going to visit and should try to display the respect for the country by following them.

Different social practises in different countries and (use of which does not create a grammatically correct sentence) it is extremely difficult for one person to follow all of them…
Country is usually known for the traditions and culture…
Feedback: written with proper structure and good command over the language, however they were few grammatical errors mentioned above make sure not to do them once again. Lexical resources are utilised properly and there is enough complexity in the sentences.
Tip: Could use more linking words and complicated conjunctions to improve the quality of the sentences.

Deleted UserNovember 8, 2021 at 9:18 PMCultural divergence is prevalent among various countries present in the world in the form of varied cuisines and attires used by their population. Many believe that the foreigners travelling to these foreign destinations should oblige and please locals by imitating their cultures and ways of living. This essay only partly agrees with the statement that copying the traditions and cultures of local ethnicity is to be followed religiously.
On one hand, when you fall in line with local practices and beliefs, you are able to gel well with local communities of that country. The people welcome you for showing respect to their culture and go out of the way to help you in whatever way possible. They will invite you to showcase their cultural events and program’s which are normally elusive for foreign nationals. Since you blend well with local population and very much belong to them there are very few chances of being alienated. For example, When I visited UK last year wearing formal English attire, many neighbors welcomed me and invited to their house parties.
On the contrary, if you are imitating the locals too much and without paying attention to details it may hurt their sentiments to that extent that it may put you in a difficult situation and jeopardize your chances of pleasing local communities. Many people were subject to racial abuse and discrimination while they were exposed copying local practices but at a inferior level. In a recent example, a foreign national was thrashed in UAE by locals for wearing their attire the wrong way and attending a pub which is prohibited in their culture.
To conclude this essay, it is observed that while following local cultures and traditions appease local communities and help you blend with them more naturally and give you opportunity to explore and experience local cultures to the maximum. But overdoing such practices without due diligence and without thinking about negative consequences may be a really bad idea and should be really avoided.
