WRITING TASK 2: OPINION ESSAY: SCHOOL
Posted by Unknown Member on September 23, 2021 at 8:08 AMEnsuring that children have regular physical exercise should be the responsibility of parents and therefore schools should not waste valuable school time having sports lessons as part of the curriculum.
To what extent do you agree?

I completely disagree with this statement and opine that it is the joint responsibility of the parents as well as school to monitor the physical health of the children. I will elucidate the reasons in the subsequent paragraphs.
Admittedly, parents are responsible for ensuring some physical activity for their kids. If the kids start to learn exercising at a young age, they tend to adopt a healthier lifestyle in their future as well. Parents can supervise their children in a better manner and therefore, after understanding the needs and likings of their offsprings they can put them into the activities that interests them the most. For instance, if a child is interested in playing cricket, parents can play a great role in motivating them and help them in pursuing their interest.
On the other hand, schools are where children spend most of their times. Children can better develop their interest in a sports or master their skills at it under the guidance of a professional trainer. Teachers can conduct productive sessions in a larger group and also children learn better from their peers when the training is conducted in larger groups. For instance, students might be competing with that one student who runs the fastest in the school sports day. Besides this, children also learn skills such as working in a team and management skills. If the children are given training to include at least one sport in their lives, they will be advantageous in a long run and this journey begins at school.
In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that parents and schools are equally responsible in shaping a child’s future and developing healthy lifestyle which he will adopt for the rest of his life. It is crucial that the children utilise their time judiciously with a mix of academics and sports and they learn all this in a conducive environment provided by parents and school both.

Deleted UserSeptember 23, 2021 at 11:03 PMPhysical education is one of the important subjects in children development. It is argued by some people that parents should make sure that their children should do some workout daily as a result to this educational institutes should discard games or physical training sessions from their syllabus. In my opnion, indulging the habit of exercise should be the responsibility of both the parents as well as the schools.
On one hand, it is the responsibility of the parents to make involve workout sessions in their children’s life because it will keep the child more active resulting in good academic results, less prone to stress and leading a healthy life ahead. Fast food has played a major role in causing obesity in even children nowadays and in order to avoid such problems children must be encouraged to develop a habit of exercising daily. Parents being the most important figures in the child’s life can influence the children for such activities easily.
On the other hand, schools should include sports as a part of syllabus because it will imbibe sportsmanship spirit in students not only for sports but also for life. Besides, it will help them learn team management skills at a young age which will help them in the future. Moreover, it is seen that physically fit students often perform better in studies because they are mentally fit as well due to regular exercise at schools.
In conclusion, although parents are responsible for their child’s education, the main place where children devote their time is school. Personally, I believe that time is not wasted on sports lessons and that in the long run, exercising in schools help maintain the young generation’s health.

Deleted UserSeptember 24, 2021 at 2:21 PMIt is being presumed that physical fitness of children is a duty of their parents and thus school should not squander precious time to have sports lesson as a subject of the curriculum. I completely disagree with the above statement because school can provide best facilities for sports to children and children can learn it in a more effective and corrective way.
Students can learn as many sports as they want on the school premises because most of the schools having facilities to organize a variety of games. Generally, schools have well-qualified trainers under whom supervision children can become physically and mentally fit. Regular sports keep offspring active and give them a healthy lifestyle. The more sports they do, the healthier they become in life. On the side, parents can motivate and energize them to participate in sports.
Additionally, if schools keep sports as subject students will understand sports in a promising way. They will become regular do physical activity as per schedule which would not possible in parents guidance because children could not too disciplined there. Under the guidance of a trainer, children can perform any type of sport competitively and enthusiastically. Moreover, some of the children can make sports as their career in future and would play national and international level.
To conclude, I would like to say that physical health of the children is the joint responsibility of school and parents, where the school should incorporate sports as a subject in its curriculum as it builds physical and mental fitness children and parents can encourage and motivate their children for more participation in sports.
