The magnanimous increase in the world’s population today is posing a huge threat to our environment and it is increasing at an alarming rate. I strongly agree to the statement and believe that immediate measures need to be implemented to bring the situation under control.

It has been observed that the requirements of people today has increased in every space where it took years for households to own a car, today every house is working hard to afford another new car.The surge in automobiles has caused fuel consumption to shoot up drastically contributing to high CO2 emission levels lingering in the air.Rapid development and urbanisation is running at a fast pace these days where people are moving out of villages and settling down in cities to avail better facilities.

These days people are opting for a better standard of living and this forces an increased rate in the construction field where skyscrapers are continuously being being built whose foundation has to be sturdy for which earth movers are being used to excavate very deep into the ground causing all the ground water to dry up. Water being a natural resource is now being considered to be scarcely available and a few counties have officially declared water will have to be purchased from other counties.Trees known to be natural producers of oxygen are being cut down due to globalisation causing air contamination resulting in poor air quality index in most places today.Tremendous increase in deforestation is posing a threat to the soil quality and fertility that vegetation is becoming impossible.
