Crime, the intentional commission of an act usually deemed socially harmful or dangerous and the world is an enigma of crime and to decrease it some people recommend implementing a longer prison sentence while other favour better alternatives that can reduce crime. Although, my viewpoint is similar to the latter statement.
There are numerous ways that can help in bringing down crimes, extracurricular activities like art, craft, gardening, listening to music can enhance a person that has been doing evil deeds. Government should encourage people to conduct awareness campaigns which in return will help in creating awareness among the commoners, employment opportunities should be available for people so that they don’t emerge into the world of crime, crime rate can be reduced by providing proper education and employment, awareness of good and evil should be taught to the common people to make the world a better place free of crime.
On the other hand, a prolonged prison sentence can bury a person’s hope, a hope that can change an evil person to a better one, the same routine of prison and its prevalent bullying lends a hand in destroying a person completely.
I would like to summarize the discussion by saying that crime rates can be reduced by teamwork. government and commoners both should work hand in hand to bring about awareness among people to reduce crime
