The line graph illustrates information about the money spent by the different sections of society(poorest, middle-income, richest) on fuel in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Overall, it is evident that in the UK poor people spent the least amount of money on fuel & the richest spent the highest amount of their income on fuel. However, In the United States poorest section of society spent the huge proportion of their income on fuel, whereas the richest spent the least amount of their income on fuel. Moreover, In both the countries middle class people spent the intermediate amount of their income on fuel.
In the US, there was a rapid surge in percent of income spent on fuel by the poor people. The percent of income spent on fuel rose from about 4% to just above 5%.However,it decreased gradually after after that. Furthermore, for middle class section of society there was a decreasing trend in the amount of income spent on fuel. It decreased drastically from about 5% to around 3.5%.However,for the rich people there was a rapid decline in the proportion of money spent. It decreased from about 3.5% to approximately 2%.
In the UK, there was a rapid rise in proportion of money spent on fuel by poor people. The percentage of income spent on fuel escalated from around 0.5% to 2.5%.Moreover,for the middle-income people the amount of money spent on fuel rose steadily from around 2% to 4%.Also,for the richest section of the society the proportion of income spent on fuel moved at a steady pace initially, but it showed a drastic decline from around 3.5% to 2%.
