The past few years have seen an exponential growth in the population of many countries due to which building new houses has been a major concern. Some people argue that new buildings must be constructed in the existing cities while others opine that new counties must be built in order to accommodate the rising population. In my opinion, both the alternatives have their own merits and demerits which the government must take into account.

On the one hand, building new infrastructure will result in the development of the existing cities because now people can live in newly constructed homes in the close vicinity of their area of work. This is a better, convenient and comfortable way since the existing cities already have well equipped industries, modes of transportation and healthcare facilities. However, the government must keep a check on the number of people moving to the cities since overcrowding might deteriorate the living standards of the people in the city.

On the other hand, creating new counties in the countryside can be seen as a greater opportunity for the future if done properly. These cities will be free from any pollution since it does take almost 10 years for the city to develop and attract industries. There will be new job opportunities created resulting in an economic development of the nation altogether. Creation of small towns will also discourage movement of people to big cities.

In conclusion, I believe that the problem of increasing population can be tackled by both the ways, either by building new houses in the existing cities or by developing new counties. However, the government must carefully monitor that adequate facilities are provided in these cities before they are being built.
