Dear sir,
I am writing to apologise and explain why I was absent for the awards ceremony hosted by the company.
Firstly let me thank you for sending me the invitation and trust you put on me that i would make to the event. Although I made all the arrangements and wanted to attend the event, all of a sudden, my old friend of mine suddenly called that he is getting married at Arya samaj and wanted my presence over there.
As there was no one at home, I could not send any one. Being in tricky situation, I forgot my mobile phone at my home and could not call you and inform you the same.
I know that you had been supportive through out may career in this organization and I request you to understand that it was not all intentional and further I would ensure that I would never repeat the same and make a priority in attending any event organized by the company.
