    Dear Sir,

    Greetings of the day!

I am writing to you with regards to the Data Discovery and Analysis book that I borrowed from you last week for my research. I would like to express my sincere apologies for not returning it on time and would like to visit your office tomorrow to return it.

I can not begin to express my gratitude to you for lending me the book. It definitely proved to be a great asset in completing my research work in time. I was able to navigate through it with great ease and the reference it provided was a tremendous help. The book had everything I was looking for in order to connect the dots for our annual research project.

I understand you were expecting me to return the book yesterday, however, due to unforeseen weather conditions I was not able to travel to the college. I would like to visit your office tomorrow. Before that, I wanted to check with you whether you will be available. If not, would it be okay for me to return it to your assistant?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks again!

    Yours faithfully,

    Sahil
