The graph illustrates how various factors, namely transport, industry and household contribute towards the total air pollutants from year 1990 to 2005.

Total air pollutants has been in a consistent downtrend and hit a low of a little over 5MT in 2005. Industrial emission has been the most significant contributor to total air pollutants throughout the stipulated period.

Industrial pollutants has shown a dramatic fall from approximately 6MT in 1990 to just over 2MT in 2005. That is roughly 67% decline in 15 years. Though it remains the highest contributor to total air pollutants, its overall share has been marginally decreasing.

For both, transport and household pollutants, the trend has been fairly steady up till 1993. Since 1993, these both factors have shown negative correlation. In 2005, emission from transport stood at its all time high of approx. 1MT while, household pollutants bottomed out in year 2005.

We are here to help.
