    Dear Mr. Cris,

I was your past student, a 2010 graduate from NITC university. I know it has been a long time since we got in touch and I am in desperate need of a favor from you.

Recently, I came across a job opening in the Technip Chennai branch for the position of a planning engineer. The job is the right one for me as I possess all the required qualifications and experience that the job entails.

This job is my dream job as the company is a multinational company. Besides the many perks that the job offers, I would get the right exposure and it would help me greatly in the advancement of my career. At present, I am jobless and desperately looking for a job to support my family.

It would be of great help if you could put in a good word and write a letter of reference for me. You could mention all the skills, highlight the qualities that you know I possess, and that I would be an asset to any organization.

Thank you for your time in advance and also for all your help and support.

    Yours sincerely,

    Paul Hinder

    Dear Mr. Sharma,

Good day. It has been a while since we spoke to each other and it is always good to see you. Hope this letter will find you and your family safe and sound in this pandemic. I was a student of yours, a 2009 graduate from UP Technical University.

I am currently working as a Software developer in Adobe Inc. with some legacy technologies includes Unix and C++. I went across this wonderful opportunity in the company Google Inc. where they are hiring for Cloud Support Engineer. There are very few positions for this role and I see myself fit into this role easily with an upscale in my current skill set at a higher level.

This job will considerably play a significant role at this stage of my career due to its uniqueness in the technology front which are quite niche in the market. Not only it will be great in terms of compensation but also with the shift in the skill set which I would be pursuing at this point of time. I have one of my close acquaintances who is currently working with this organization, has also explained the importance of this role.

I would be requiring a letter of reference from your side to go ahead with the recruitment process. The reference letter will be a kind of character certificate mentioning about the academic days at the graduation level. Very importantly it should also showcase my performance as well as the attitude during that time period. As this role is for a precious position at a higher management level, the letter of reference is very significant to land me in this opportunity.

Hope that I will receive the letter at the earliest through an email. My personal email id is abhineets@gmail.com where I would be checking my email frequently. Thank you so much in advance and I hope to see you soon.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Abhineet Saxena

Actually, The job’s title is senior lecturer with more than ten years of teaching experience and the work description includes the handling of electronics subject for the students from first year to final year in both theoretical and practical mode of teaching. Moreover, the staff is required to do some college management activities like financial part and recruiting the non-technical staff as well.

Considering the nature of the job, it is very important for me , as I could learn advanced technical things in more detail while I am teaching, that will boost up my career. Furthermore, I am keenly interested in handling staff selection activities which I already did in my previous XYZ organisation. Yearly international symposium is supposed to be conducted in university on regular basis, during which many international scientists will deliver their lectures about their inventions which is much needed for my technical growth.

    Dear Mrs. Dorathy,

I am one of your old students from the 2017 batch at the National University. I am writing to ask you a favour of providing me with a reference letter that I am required to submit to support my job application.

The job for which I am about to attend interview is in one of the leading multinational companies. They have vacancy for Software Engineer and the recruited candidate will be working in cloud platforms, which is a hot technology in the market.

In my current job, I do not see a potential growth in my career, in spite of working hard. This is because, I am into a legacy project, which makes use of a very old technology, that has almost become extinct in the software world. Hence, this job interview is crucial for me to work in the relevant field, in which I am actually interested.

I would be grateful if you could write about my academic performance, leadership skills and conduct, in the reference letter so that it would improve my chances of getting the job.

I look forward to getting your reply soon.

    Yours faithfully,

    Madhumitha Murali
