Some scholars of our society believe that paper based news and magazines will be extinct over the period of time. Partially, I am also agreeing on this thought because still certain part of our society is solely rely on traditional newspaper and magazines as a source of information.

The advent of modern technology & E-books has profound impact on our daily lives. We can access news across the globe on our fingertips at any time as per our convenience. Nowadays, we receives breaking news, current affairs or page 3 updates on various social platforms within fraction of seconds. Another vital aspect of using E-based source of information is to avoid devastation of forest & tons of wastage of water required for paper industries. Normally, 1 ton of wood & 20000 liters of water is needed to produce 100, A4 papers which is simply not justifiable being entire world is making efforts to sustain these limited natural resources.

On other hand, paper based newspaper and Magazines are inseparable part of certain members of our society specifically those who are not well adept with technology. Mostly retired and elderly loves to read newspaper, particularly articles & sports section. This reading tradition has been following over the years in my house as well where my father likes to read newspaper and my mother is fond of old magazines such as “Gruhshobhika”. Certainly, it is not possible to change such as orthodox reading habits of the personnel easily.

To summarize this discussion, one day e-books and newspaper will completely replace the paper based information media but it will take his own sweet time as people still has faith in it.

THESE DAYS THERE HAS BEEN AN INTRIGUING DEBATE ON THE TOPIC THAT WHETHER TRADITIONAL NEWS PAPERS AND MAGAZINES WILL BECOME OBSOLETE OWING TO E-BBOKS AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS OR THEY SHALL CONTINUE TO REMAIN RELEVANT. IN MY OPINION, DUE TO DEEP PENETRATION OF INTERNET IN SOCIETY AND CONTINUOS EVOLUTION OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY NEWS-PAPERS AND MAGAZINES WILL LOOSE THEIR RELEVANCE SOONER THAN LATER.

WE ALL KNOW, ONLY FEW YEARS BACK, MOBILE PHONES WERE LUXURY IN OUR SOCIETY AND INTERNET ACCESS WAS LIMITED TO CAFES. HOWEVER, AS TECHNOLOGY HAS ADVANCED, COST OF MOBILES PHONE AND CHARGES TOWARDS USING INTERNET HAVE REDUCED SUBSTAINTIALLY AND DUE TO WHICH THESE MOBILE AND INTERNET HAVE BECOME NECESSITIES. DUE TO THIS, OUR LOT OF HABBITS HAVE ALSO CHANGED AND ONE OF THEM IS THE WAY WE READ NEWS PAERS AND MAGAZINES. NOW, WE HAVE HUNDREDS OF APPLICATIONS IN OUR PHONES AND ANY KIND OF NEWS OR INFORMATION IS ON OUR FINGERTIPS WITH-IN MOMENTS. FOR EXAMPLE, THE CIRCULATION OF ALL LEADING NEWS PAPERS HAVE REDUCED CONSIDERABLY AND MOST OF THEM HAVE LAUNCHED PAID VERSION OF THEIR MOBILE APPLICATIONS TO COMPENSATE FOR THEIR LOST REVENUE.

FURTHER, IN CURRENT ERA PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO READ PHYSICAL VERSIONS OF MAGAZINES OF NEWS PAPER AND THEY WANT TO READ NEWS OR BOOKS ON THE GO, WHICH IS ONLY POSSIBLE WHEN ITS AVAILABLE IN THEIR DEVICES SUCH AS MOBILE PHONES OF TABLETS. CARRYING PHYSIAL COPIES OF BOOKS IS CUMBERSOME, WHICH PEOPLE WANT TO AVOID.

IN CONCLUSION, I WOULD LIKE TO RE-STATE THAT NOTHING IS PERMANENT AND ERA OF NEWS PAPER AND MAGAZINE IS GOING TO END SOON.

Due to the COVID pandemic, we have developed a habit of doing things online, whether it is learning through virtual classes or reading books and newspapers through E books. I totally agree that E books can replace newspapers and magazines very soon.

Its been one and a half year we are doing things online and are getting comfortable in it. For example, few months back, we were not even able to imagine doing school online and now even the exams are being taken online. Electronic form of reading is a convenient way of knowing about the world as everything is on your fingertips. Moreover, we have access to all kind of information that we want to know with E books.

I personally believe that newspapers and magazines are the unconventional ways of reading and are not going to last for very long. Certainly, these means require lots of paper and in turn lots of deforestation is done which is affecting our environment. In addition to this, it is difficult to collect all the old newspapers and magazines. For example, if we want to read any old article, we have to search for that particular day newspaper which indeed becomes difficult.

In conclusion, those days are not very far when the electronic ways of doing things like reading through E books will replace traditional newspapers and magazines. Undoubtedly, E books have more advantage over the paper based reading and we should try to spread the message of having paper less environment by supporting electronic means of reading.

With rise in technological advancement, life has changed in many ways, from printed materials to ebooks. Few people believe that this advancement in near future will completely change the traditional ways of functioning of media and entertainment industry. This essay will partially agree with the given statement.

To begin with, it is obvious that the speed with which people are adopting new technology is not only because it is convenient, but also because it is making their lives easier in millions of ways. For instance, many schools and universities have started encouraging their students to use tablets and laptops in classrooms. This has definitely decreased the burden of carrying number of books and assignments to school and college on a regular basis. In addition to that, educational facilities and even students are able to save loads of money, as they can access and download variety of content from internet in form ebooks, so they do not end up spending their money on books with limited content.

However, a small part of world still prefers published material over ebooks and articles. No matter how advance and robust the technology gets, great writers still like to read the content and story directly from the books.

To conclude, in future, the rising tide of technology will certainly change the current media industry, but still the traditional ways of delivering news, information and different types of content will coexist.

      Feedback:

All parts of the task are sufficiently and appropriately addressed. A clear position is presented and supported and ideas are relevant and well developed. There is a clear progression throughout the response and a wide range of cohesive devices is used with flexibility. A wide range of vocabulary is used with flexibility and precision. Minor errors or omissions occur in structures, but these do not detract from the wide range flexibly and accurately used generally, and the majority of structures are error-free.

Undoubtedly, people are changing their preferences about reading and are drifting towards using online books that are available on their electronic devices without carrying paper-back with them every time. It is being argued that conventional newspapers and magazines are fully replaceable by the modern era trend of reading them digitally. I disagree with the fact that daily paper and journals will ever replace by electronic books completely.

First and foremost, daily newsprint and publications do not have any detrimental effect on health and are favorable for all age groups. People prefer to read the hard copies because they find it easy and comfortable rather than reading them on electronic devices. For example, in many countries, people are still habitual of reading daily newspapers first thing in the morning, and no change has been observed in their daily habit.

Alternatively, books available in cyberspace can be downloaded directly on one’s gadgets, and one can read them at their convenience. Though they are handy and are easily available on the internet, it has its repercussions. For instance, research has shown that more than four hours of screen time has a damaging effect on the eyes, and hence, it is not advisable for young children and old age people to use it in their day-to-day life.

To conclude, although digital books and magazines are available by just clicking on a modern technological device, conventional newspapers and journals are best suited for all age groups as they have no hazard to their health. I certainly believe that e-books would never end the tradition of daily newspapers and magazines.

It is often argued that E-books and modern technology will supersede the traditional style of reading newspapers and magazines. This essay agrees that the increasing popularity of digital books and contemporary technology are the reasons for the obsolescence of traditional newspapers and magazines.

First of all, I must admit that E-books and today’s leading-edge technology are very much flexible than those traditional ways. People can access easily from wherever they want and also, they can carry enough quantities as it is lightweight and portable, with the help of an electronic gadget. A good illustration of this would be Amazon Kindle. It allows its users to browse, buy, download and read their E-books, newspapers, magazines, et cetera from anywhere across the globe. The only requirement is to have a device that supports the Kindle store. Consequently, eliminating the traditional newspapers and magazines, societies are leaning more towards E-books and modern technology.

Secondly, it allows individuals to keep an extensive range of information in one device and comes with an idiomatic approach. In other words, traditional newspapers and magazines can contain a limited number of contents whereas the digital version offers a substantial amount of coverage. Additionally, E-books and modern technology provide personalized information which is a unique feature compared to conventional publications. For instance, if a person holds his interest in the area of politics and government initiatives then he will get individualized experience from the digital version. Although it depends on what settings he has made. Thus, the advantages of E-books and modern technology outweigh the traditional newspaper and magazines.

To summarize, it has been evidenced that the traditional newspaper and magazines are rubbing out their presence and the present generation’s E-books and technology are capturing the gaps. This is because technology creates a unique user-friendly interface.

The opinion is included in the introduction to make the writer’s position clear, and then the following paragraphs support the writer’s position with examples and justifications. Overall, the response is full and relevant and each of the points is detailed and connected to the thesis. Uses cohesion in such a way that it attracts no attention. Skillfully manages paragraphing . Uses a wide range of vocabulary with very natural and sophisticated control of lexical features. Uses a wide range of structures with full flexibility and accuracy; rare minor errors occur only as slips.

It is often argued that newspaper and magazines will hold no relevance in future, instead latest technology and online books will be the preferred means of gaining information. In my opinion, the future belongs to E-books and digitalization. This essay will discuss firstly, the easy availability of online books and secondly, how technical upgradation promotes and maintains an eco-friendly atmosphere; followed by a reasoned conclusion.

First of all, with technology, it has now become possible for people to buy devices that support digital books at an affordable rate. Anyone sitting anywhere in the world can have easy accessibility to online books, in fact downloading a book from installed application is way more simpler than arranging for daily newspaper and magazines. This can be illustrated by the fact that the Kindle has maximum number of subscription across the globe. I am not denying the fact that some older age group people still enjoys reading traditional newspaper, books and magazines because they find it more comfortable.

Apart from being user-friendly, digital books are also eco-friendly. The printing process itself involves using of harmful chemicals and ink that can have deleterious effect on human beings as well as animals. Moreover, billion of trees are chopped down every year for the paper manufacturing process, thus putting an impact on environment. Such problems are not encountered with digital books.

Therefore, I strongly believe that traditional newspaper and magazines will be no longer in use over the next few years. It is recommended that government should allow subscription of online books site at a cheaper rate.

Nowadays many people forecast the possibility of complete vanishing of conventional newspapers and magazines due to the popularity of E-books and other modern technologies. It is agreed that this hypothesis might be happening based on two primary reasons .This essay examines firstly ,the personal benefits E -books can bring and secondly, the environmental benefits it has ;followed by a logical conclusion.

Firstly, it is a well known fact that digital technologies, in particular E- books and magazines have revolutionized the process of finding and reading a book or magazine. In the earlier times , finding a book often entailed spending long hours in library shelves or visiting various book shops. However, now these books not only can be easily accessed at a one click but also it can be read , listened or visualize within our comfort zone at any time. In addition , since E-books are more affordable and require only less space , anyone can carry this and create their own library with their favourite collections in a light weight portable gadget.

Furthermore, thousands of trees are annually logged since paper is the principal material required for publishing newspapers and magazines. This drastically harm the environment in many ways such as habitat loss, climate change and soil damage. To cite an example, trees in forests are home to a myriad of mammals, insects, reptiles, birds and worms as well. So, destruction of these trees will leads to the loss of their dwelling. Therefore, many environmentalists nowadays tend to encourage people to read online newspapers or digital books in order to reduce the effects of logging to a great extent.

To sum up, E-books and other modern technologies are a great alternatives to the printed reading materials owing to the advantages it provides. Apparently these can completely take the place of conventional publications in the near future.

There are two schools of thought about the existence of traditional newspapers and magazines due to the development of the latest e-books and modern technology. I strongly agree that the modernisation of technology and the impact, which physical paper causes on the environment by cutting more trees will make them non-existent in future.

Firstly, the affordability of e-paper is very cost-efficient in comparison to physical paper and magazines. It does not require lots of space for storage vis.a.vis physical newspaper which will make your house dirty and consume lots of storage space. Also, you can read the e-paper and multiple magazines at your convenience on your hand devices while travelling and keep yourself updated in a short span of time.

Secondly, papers are required for printing traditional newspapers and magazines, which will be produced from the wood shell of trees. Trillions of trees are being cut for paper industries only, which are impacting the ecological system of Earth. For Eg. Last week the United State of Mexico has imposed penalty for cutting forest trees for papers to conserve the rain forest

To conclude, I would like to retiree that physical paper may be a reader-friendly however devastating impact on the ecological system required change in the traditional paper into e-paper

To conclude, I would like to reiterate that physical paper may be reader-friendly, however, it has a devastating impact on the ecological system and it required (requires)immediate change in the reading habit from traditional paper into e-paper

Which two schools of thought ?……… not clear in the introduction. An outline statement can be added in the introduction to predict the flow of the essay. The response is well organized and structured with a decent vocabulary range though a few uncommon vocabulary words could have been used in the essay. A few Grammar errors of punctuation and verbs are evident in the response.

With the rising popularity of E-books and other modern technologies as appropriate alternatives to books, magazines, and newspapers, it’s conceivable that traditional publications will completely vanish. In my opinion, this hypothesis might be happening based on a few reasons and I will be discussing them in this essay.

Firstly, it is undeniable fact that digital technologies particularly E-books and online newspapers have revolutionized the process of finding and reading books. In the olden days, finding a certain book entailed long hours searching for it in libraries, local bookstores and enquiring about it with friends but now most of the books can be accessed at the click of a button, on top of that it can be listened or read anywhere or can be carried easily anywhere without occupying much space. In addition, E-books are more affordable which helps in managing one’s own library with their favorite books in their portable, light-weighted device.

Further and more importantly, to produce paper for publishing industries, millions of trees are logged every time which causes harm to the environment. The damage includes changes in soil, climatic changes, and habitats being destroyed. For instance, trees in rainforests are home to all the animals, birds, reptiles, worms, and insects. By cutting them down, they lose their dwelling. So, keeping all these in mind, encouraging the people to use digital books and online newspapers by environmentalists is trending now, moreover, this reduces the consequences of logging.

In a nutshell, I believe that E-books and other advanced technologies are great alternatives to the printed ones owing to the advantages mentioned above. Therefore, it is thoroughly possible they will totally take the place of conventional periodicals in the near future.

Few opine that E-books and modern innovations shall take the place of conventional things like newspapers and magazines. Will it happen? I certainly do not agree with this statement. Let me bolster my opinion with examples and my personal experience.

To begin with, Although modern tools like E-books and magazines have been popular due to “the ease of use” it provides to the users, technology has not reached into every nook and corner of the world in order for it to take place of age-old things such as newspaper etc. For instance, while urban people take the advantage of e-books like kindle, rural people do not comprehend its meaning in the first place. Thus, rendering usage of e-books and the latest technology to a minimal extent.

Secondly, despite living in an urban environment the elderly prefer to read magazines rather than acquainting themselves with the latest technology either due to the fear of learning something new or fear of embarrassment from their family. For example, my parents are comfortable following magazines in spite of me showcasing the advantages that digital paper can provide since they do not want to break their old habits. Had they switched to digital media, they could harness a large amount of information.

Overall, because of limited technological reach and the inability of all the sections of people to make themselves abreast with state-of-the-art digital platforms current innovations can never make newspapers and magazines obsolete. Unequivocally, this essay argued my opinion.

As per observation by many intellectuals that online reading of books and magazines in the form of electronic PDF books, kindle etc. will supersede print media. This essay strongly agrees with this statement that ever increasing intrusion and addiction of handheld devices in everyone’s life and omnipresent internet has increased the online content consumption manifold and has potential to replace paper based physical content in the time to come.

Firstly, the online content is easily accessible on demand and does not spoil after repeated usage, it is quite portable and one can carry thousands of books in ones smart devices without feeling burdened to carry significant weight. One can seamlessly switch devices and read the same content on their other gadgets. For instance, I buy books online which are instantly downloaded on my phone, I am able to read it on my iPad and seamlessly switch it on kindle, I also listen to audio book versions while driving which is quite convenient and refreshing.

Secondly, we cut millions and billions of trees to make paper which in turn is used for printing hard copies of such content. We also use printers to print lots of stationary which adds to carbon emissions. By cutting trees mindlessly we have drastically reduced green cover of our planet to such an extent that it culminated into catastrophic situations like global warming and other natural calamities like storms, floods, earthquakes, ozone layer depletion. For an example, countries which are participants of United Nations pledge to cut down on carbon emissions by 50% by the end of 2030 to stop further erosion of natural resources.

To conclude, it is strongly believed that online content consumption will finally make print media obsolete in near future which will not only safeguard our planet earth but also transform the way and at such ease the content is consumed.

From past few decades, modernization has impacted our society in a lot different ways, from radios to Televisions, from paperback and hard cover books to e-books, from waiting for newspaper every morning to receiving latest news every minute via application in cell phones, everything is changing rapidly. I totally agree that that new technology would completely take over ancient technology in future.

To begin with, modern advancement has given more liberty to people to do anything, anywhere, anytime and as a result people have become impatient. For example, if anything is happening in the world, they want to see it happening live or they want the update every minute for the same. As a result, people rely less on newspapers. Also, some people believe that newspapers are not eco-friendly as it is just a wastage of paper.

Further, in today’s world, people are really short on time. Technology has made the world so small and fast that people don’t want to waste a single minute because every minute is precious, even for me as I am working in an Multi National Company and usually don’t have much time to spare for daily updates and for that purpose, I have a mobile application named ‘Inshorts’ installed in my phone which provides me with updates every minute in just 60 words. In this scenario, who would like to read the whole news when you can get the summary in just 60 words?

In a nutshell, people are getting addicted to technology, and it would become difficult for present as well as the future generations to stick to traditional ways of getting updates, be it newspapers or magazines, no doubt they give a different sense of satisfaction and pleasure when we read it but who on earth will have that much time to feel it!

The increasing popularity of the digital medium is evident in the rising proliferation of E-books in our midst. A section of the populace fears that expanding digital readership will lead to the disappearance of conventional reading forms, including newspapers and magazines. The essay disagrees with the assertion that digitised mediums will completely displace long-standing modes of readership. It discusses the reasons for this opinion, followed by a logical conclusion.

While digital technology has gained an abiding presence in all spheres of our lives and has the capacity to take over traditional channels of communication, inequitable access to technology prevents this from becoming a reality in the foreseeable future. As per the findings of the National Health and Family Survey (NFHS), 2019-20, nearly one-third of men and almost 50 percent women lacked regular access to a computer, laptop, I-pad or even, an android phone. Access to internet connectivity posed a problem to another 15 per cent of the population who had access to these modern gadgets. Given the scenario, the takeover of e-books over traditional modes of communication such as the newspaper and print magazines seems like a pipe dream.

A section of the population is also thoroughly attached to the conventional print media. For millions of people, perusing the newspaper, alongside their cup of morning tea or coffee, is an inherent and irreplaceable part of their daily life. Moreover, the online experience is beset with numerous pop-up video advertisements, which serve as unnecessary distractions. These destroy the sanctity of their serious reading experience. For other people, their familiarity with the hard-copy of their favourite reads, including magazines, makes this an inviolable experience. The smell of paper and the look and feel of a used magazine cannot be recreated over the digital medium for such people.

In the end, while a section feels that modern technology has the potential to oust more established forms of reading, including newspapers and magazines, limited access to digital gadgets and poor internet connectivity, combined with the love of a section of people for the traditional modes of reading makes this an unviable proposition in times to come.

I cannot deny that in my lifetime I have observed the extensive use of newspapers and magazines as source of information and news to the current time where we extensively rely on our phone and tabs to attain information about current happenings around the world.

With the advent of internet the world was revolutionized and this also affected how news was circulated around the world. As internet become more readily available and prices of electronic devices dropped along with increase in purchasing power of people there was rapid change in needs. As a result, this need was eventually met by bringing news and information to everyone at the tip of finger by various news apps. Audio e books which are available for every book on this planet are particularly helpful for children and reluctant readers. This also rids the burden of carrying heavy books to office & college because we can easily carry everything on a laptop or tablet. In fact the move from paper medium to electronic medium has also saved us from environmental pollution as producing papers need abundant resources.

Although we are dependent on Ebooks and modern technology there is a big percentage of population who still enjoy reading their daily newspaper for leisure. Similarly many people particularly elderly are not very comfortable with use of phones and tablets and prefer to get their daily dose in a conventional way. Despite of Ebooks etc one cannot deny the marvelous experience of turning a thick sheet of glossy paper revealing latest trend of markets.

In conclusion I would like to say that that tough ebooks and modern technology is here to stay and is need of the hour we will still need the traditional newspaper and magazine in the coming years.
