Your next-door neighbour likes to listen to music late at night. Because of the loud music, you often lose sleep.

Write a letter to the building manager. In your letter

    • describe the situation
    • explain the problems it is causing you
    • offer at least one solution

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I live in Building – C, Flat no.2 of Palm Gardens and I am writing this letter to inform you about the problem that I have been facing for quite some time.

Actually, one of my neighbour residing in flat no.1 of the same building is playing loud music till late night. I do not raise this issue, if it is once in a while during long holidays or weekends. This has become regular every night and it disturbs my sleep a lot.

Due to disturbed sleep, I was not able to concentrate in my work through out the day. Hope you can understand how drowsy people become due to lack of sleep. Since, I am preparing for my upcoming examination it gives me too much trouble in studying for the same.

Therefore, I would request you to check this issue with the concerned person and try to solve this at the earliest which will help me to have a good night sleep during weekdays.

    Yours faithfully,

    Banumathy

    Dear Mr . Kulkarni,

I’m writing this mail to express my discontent with my new neighbor ( who is living in 310 B), he likes to listen loud rap music after 12 PM

These are new bachelors who has rented the first floor, Previously in that flat lived a nice family, which were noiseless and it was a pleasure to have such neighbor. Please understand my frustration when I and my wife with 2 years old son are trying to sleep and hear a bass / huge noise coming from next flat. Noisy laughing also coming some times. My son was crying hearing the noise for last two days .Moreover my wife is a migraine patient who can’t tolerate loud noises. Doctor also suggested he need a sound sleep at night without any disturbances

I would like to suggest you go to his apartment. Talk to him about turning off his speakers after 9 o’clock and give first and final warning. If he repeats, calling Cops is only my next choice. As you know there is a law prevailing the ban of loud music at night in our town. Its not good for both sides for going to police station and all.

I’am looking forward to hearing from you that you have taken the necessary steps to deal with this problem to maintain harmony and peace in this beautiful apartment.

    Yours Faithfully,

    ARAVIND V

    Dear Mr. Manager,

I am writing here to inform you about one of the problems faced by me and my family. I have been living in apartment number 204-A. One of our neighbours who is living next to us is fond of music and listens the loud music every night.

My father is a problem of sleep disorder, and my mother is a patient of hypertension and due to the noisy music, they feel uncomfortable and cannot sleep. Furthermore, when I come to the home after a hectic schedule in the workplace, I want a relaxing environment to calm my body and mind but on account of this high-volume sound, I cannot do it.

Considering the relationship with them, I do not want to lodge a police complaint and would like to request you to kindly do the needful to resolve this issue. I am looking forward to hear from you and expect a positive response from your side.

    Thanks

    Best Regards,

    Your tenants

    Mr. X

    Dear Mr. Mehta,

I’m Anjali from house no 21 from 2nd floor, I’m writing to complaint about my neighbour Mr. Bansal (house no- 22) as he is disturbing people on 2nd floor.

You know that how hectic our lives and nights are the only time when we can relax and rejuvenate . However, Mr Bansal’s few habits are annoying to all those who are living on 2nd floor. From past 10-15 days he has been listening to music on a high volume which is abrupting our sleep. Even after expressing our anger and stress he is causing us, he still hasn’t rectified his actions

His antics has left us sleep deprived as a result we are cranky and unable to concentrate at work.

Hence, I would request you take action immediately. I would suggest to hold a meeting stating there should be no late parties, no loud music or anything which will disturb the sleep of people. If somebody doesn’t adhere to these rules then fine shall be imposed on them.

I am looking forward to hear from you.

    Yours faithfully

    Dear Mr. John,

I am writing this letter to complain to you about our neighbor who plays music with extremely high sounds, which creates trouble for us to live in this house.

I have been living with my family in block number: 22 for 7 years, and I have never complained about anything yet, but it is high time for you to know that one neighbor plays his sound system on high bass, which creates a disturbance for everyone in the apartment. I discussed with him more than 5 times to keep the sound on low bass but he didn’t listen to me. Moreover, during the play of music, our wall is getting vibrates.

My grandparents are living with us and they suffer from some disease so they have to take rest, but they could not sleep because of this issue. In addition, my child is studying in the 10th standard and he has a final examination, and he could not focus on the reading because of the noise.

I would like to suggest some solutions to solve this issue. Firstly, He can set up a soundproof system in his room. Secondly, you can offer him a single apartment which is located on the terrace. Finally, you can give him intimation to finish the house contract.

I look forward to hearing from you and requesting to look into this matter to solve this problem at the earliest.

    Yours sincerely,

    Tony Joy
