Some museums require visitors to pay entrance fee , while others allow them to visit free of charge. In my opinion, the advantages of collecting fees outweigh the drawbacks, mainly because it helps in providing more facilities to the visitors and also the artists feel that their work is valued.

The main reason why people should pay for visiting the museum is that it would help the museum management to provide more facilities. For instance, the cleanliness of the venue would be well maintained, since there would be a stable income rather than depending on sponsorships which are unreliable. This will result in an enhanced user experience to the visitors. The more money is spent on maintenance of the museum, the more benefits it provides to the customers.

Another significant reason is that the artists whose art works are displayed in the museum would feel that it is valued and appreciated. They could also be paid based on the income received from the collection of entrance fees, hence their livelihood is dependent on it. This could also serve as a motivating factor for them to produce more creative art works. Hence , the benefits of collecting fees to the creator of the art is more.

In conclusion, admission fees collected by museums is a fundamental income for providing more services to people visiting it. Also it makes the artists feel worthy of their work, by providing them with a standard mode of income. Therefore, the advantages of museums charging people for admission is far more than its disadvantages.

Many museums charge for admission while others are free. According to me, museums should charge for admission for the proper functioning and maintenance of the museums. Some might think that it is unfair on the part of the government to charge fees as most of the museums are maintained by the government but people need to understand the thing that the work of an artist that is put up in the museum also needs to be valued. There are guides who are working in the museum for money, they guide people and help them gather a lot of information about the place. It is the only source for their living.
People often visit such sites for relaxation and entertainment. We as humans want everything perfect around us and if that doesn’t posses then we try to blame it on others and for that matter facilities that are provided by museum really matters a lot. People often visit a place again and again only when they like it. As we have seen in case of India there are few museums which do not have the facilities of toilets and those who have it doesn’t have the fund to maintain it therefore, it is really important that the public should pay some admission fees for museums in order to get what they expect from the place. So money and maintenance is like the two sides of a coin. The more fund that will be raised for the museum the more it will be able to function properly. Museums are meant to preserve our culture and if not maintained properly somewhere the world will lose its heritage and it’s rich culture and for the upcoming generations there will be nothing left to see and learn from their culture.

There are artists who are earning their living only through selling their work to the museums. If not paid properly they will not be able to lead a good life. So the public needs to think about the artists as well. Museums are not only a place for entertainment but a place where our culture is preserved safely. So, in order to keep it alive there should be admission fees for the museums.

A lot of museums have an entry fee whereas others are kept free of charge to the public. I am certain that the advantages of charging money are needed for improving its services to the people and for proper maintenance of the museum.

Most of the museums are preserved by the government authorities and for them to run a museum it has to be sustainable. If there is no revenue from them then they cannot meet the day-to-day expenses. Staff salaries for securities, tour guides, and customer service representatives will not be a viable option had there not been an entry fee for the visitor. Another major expense is the maintenance cost where the museum uses the money for maintaining its pristine state, cleanliness, and bringing new artifacts of greater significance.

The money collected at the ticketing counter can help in improving the people’s experiences and providing better services to them. Improved experiences like introducing newer artifacts, sculptures, and renowned paintings which can bring up the hype and attract a lot of people and tourists. A wide variety of services such as better customer service and providing more guides will all help in the improvement and enhance their enjoyability of the museum. Lastly, had the museum not been charged it will result in overcrowding and causes restriction of free movement of the people within the museum. The staff will not be able to control and monitor the excess crowd which can lead to chaos and eventually leads to poor management.

To conclude, the advantage of charging people definitely outweighs the disadvantages as otherwise, it will lead to the inefficiency of the museum and failure to provide the best services for the people.

Some museums charge its visitors entry fee while others do not charge any fee of admission. In my opinion, the advantages of charging fees is more than the drawbacks in a number of ways. This essay outlines both the advantages as well as disadvantages.

On the one hand, entry fee into the museums reduces the number of guests. People are discouraged to visit the museums because for them they visit places to spend their idle time and gain knowledge for free. For instance, if the parks are charged with fees where people come to walk, gossip and exercise, this would demotivate people to use the services of the public place. Additionally, people who cannot afford paying the fees wouldn’t be able to gain access to the services of the museums.

On the other hand, charging an entry fees offers wide range of advantages. Firstly, the money collected can be used to manage the overhead costs at the museum. For instance, the money can be used to pay the utility bills, staff cost, repairing cost etc. As we are aware a large amount of money is required for maintaining huge buildings and the amount earned from visitors can be used as a source of income. Secondly, the revenue earned can be put directly to enhance the utilities and features of the museum which in turn would attract more visitors. For instance, the amount can be directly put into ensuring a clean and hygiene environment.

In conclusion, although I recognise that there are a few drawbacks of charging a fees for entry in the form of a decrease in the number of visitors, however there are also long term benefits that can help in the development of the museums more effectively.
