Whether or not tourist destinations benefit from international tourism is a debatable issue. To sonic governments, the local economic benefits are worth the overcrowding and hiked prices of the tourist season. However, there are environmental and social costs and other risks of relying on tourism as a major source of annual income.

Sleepy coastal communities can be changed beyond recognition by mass-market tourism. Package holiday companies operate huge numbers of low-cost flights to high-rise hotels in developing countries every summer. This means, of course, that easy money can be had servicing this seasonal influx and the government sees increased tax revenue and local employment. However, when the tourist season comes to an end, employment ceases and the area becomes a ghost town. The social cohesion of a small community can also be blighted by the seasonal migration of people to the cities to look for work out of season, leaving only the elderly behind. This is perhaps made worse by second home owners, who drive up house prices beyond the means of local inhabitants.

On the other hand, the local community do gain language skills and other fringe benefits of cultural exchange. Such a large volume of travellers every year can cause environmental problems to fragile habitats and historical sites. Age-old stone remains can be worn away and traditional buildings demolished in favour of bland international hotels. Local infrastructure can also fail to cope with large numbers of visitors, leading to pollution and litter. However, over time this can change as the economy improves and tourism becomes more of an established industry. Local government investment in infrastructure should ensure repeat trade and further benefits for the economy.

Overall, tourism can be a good source of income for countries blessed with natural beauty or sites of historical interest. However, governments must ensure that the wishes of local businesses are not put before the needs of the local community and that any revenue generated by tourism is reinvested in the area to protect the local environment.

No one can deny the fact the tourism industry as a whole is very beneficial and good for the economy. However, it has few negative impact on local inhabitants and the environment. I will cover both the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in this essay.

With the increasing number of tourists from all over the world has increased the number of employment for local people of that particular area. The employment, therefore has generated the revenue which is good for native people. The people felt the need to learn new foreign languages which is a part of their personality development as it will help them somewhere in their future. The hiked prices of various products and services has generated income for the people. Tourists loved handcrafted things more than the readymade ones which results in making good money for the people who are working hard to earn their livelihood.

With the emerging rise in tourism industry there are other sectors which has benefited from it like hotel industry as people spend more of money at restaurants and retail sector as people love to shop the clothes and accessories. The transport industry gets extra money out of it.

On the other hand, local infrastructure has damaged due the foreign crowd. The pollution has increased with the large number of people at the tourists destinations. The historical monuments are being spoiled. Moreover, the biggest challenge is the damage to environment caused by the litter and garbage. The Taj Mahal at Agra, India is losing its sheen due to the continous vehile pollution there. After the season is over for vacation at a particular has caused the main problem for the local commuters as the people are left with no employement which in result force them to migrate them to other places for work.

I would conclude the topic by favouring the tourism industry as it caters to the economic sustainable of the country at the end. The government should lay some environmental laws for protecting the environment which is deteriorating with the large gatherings. The more funds should be used to protect the ecology.

Tourism has increased enormously in the last five decades. Some people believe that this increased tourism is beneficial for the economy while other oppose this argument. In my opinion tourism benefits are more than its consequences and this essay examine both the sides of this argument.

To commence with the foremost development that Tourism bought is revenue and employment for local youths. As when the foreign visitors come to another country, they will buy goods and avail services of other country due to which native people will get the job of tourist guide, transporter or selling local products. It will also help the government in appreciating the reserves of foreign currency as foreigners will exchange their local currency with other country native currency for travelling. Apart from providing benefit to the government or local people it also serve as a boom to hospitality, Airline and service sector. So overall it will help the Country in its development and reduce unemployment as more the tourism will result in higher the opportunities for native individuals.

Moving to consequences which tourism has provided to local society is pollution as visitors carelessly leave garbage at the monuments or roads on which government has to work by providing budget for cleanliness of these sites and better infrastructure. As these precious sites are the proud of native country which is destroyed by the foreign visitors and sometime this garbage will also cause a dangerous disease lie flu, malaria or fever for native individuals if not controlled at a proper time. Further when visitors promote their own culture in other country then the native people will be attracted to their culture and start losing interest in their own culture or history.

Taking everything into consideration, I must say that Tourism is beneficial for the development of any economy and act as source of income as well as employment to native people. However, at the same time government should take proper measures to control the damages these foreign visitors are providing to local infrastructure.

With the technological developments and advent of improved means of transport, tourism has seen a phenomenal rise over the last five decades. However, while tourism industry as a whole has played an important part in boosting overall economic development, its impact on the local population and the environment has been far from being positive. I will now discuss the major pros and cons amongst the many.

Tourism like any other industry, has been playing a major role in creation of employment pan world. For instance employment is generated for guides, travel agents, coaches etc. In addition, it brings massive revenues to the state coffers in the form of direct and indirect taxes for eg. toursim tax and indirect taxes from the hospitality and transport industry. However, these advantages are overshadowed by the negative effects it bring along.

Tourists more than often litter their surroundings with little or no concern for the environment, thereby causing huge pollution problem. A classic example of which is found on the beaches of Goa which is one of the most preferred tourist destination across the world. The litter on the beaches has costed the state with loss of ecological balance and many species of subaqueous animals are unfortunately, now extinct.

Adding salt to the wound, the tourism not only steals away the tradition and culture of the local dwellers but also makes them vulnerable to various diseases that these tourists gift the locals. It may be recalled that for this very reason, the Government of India had to intervene in the matter to protect the aboriginals and it shut the tourism door for Nicobar islands. This was a welcome step to protect the tribes and the rich culture they practised and saved them from numerous diseases brought by the herds of tourists flocking around the tribals, clicking pictures with their high resolution cameras.

From the above analysis, I can satisfactorily infer and opine that the negative impact of tourism, will continue to outweigh the positives it brings to the table, unless concerted efforts are made by the persons in power to make stringent laws for protection of the environment and the locals along-with steps to spread awareness amongst tourists themselves, about the need of respecting the environment and the local dwellers.

In every city or country there are places beautiful and significant enough that people from far and wide would want to visit them. In the last fifty years, as transport systems and the means of connectivity has become significantly better, there have been a spike in tourism. This might be seen as a positive or a negative development by different people. This essay is going to shed light on the advantages and disadvantages of this trend and elaborate on why i believe tourism is beneficial.

Some people might think this increase in travel and tourism is unfavorable. There are a few reasons that justifies this notion. Firstly, a rise in the number of tourists could disrupt the normal lives of people living there. Visitors from other countries usually lack the understanding of cultures which are followed in the places they visit, thereby causing a ruckus. For example, Japan and Korea has a culture where being polite and mannered and respecting the hierarchy is really important and when tourists simply do not know about this, they could offend people or cause confusion in such places. Another reason for an aversion to tourism could be rising levels of pollution. To accommodate visitors, a country might have to turn green covers into hotels and have more vehicles running causing a significant increase in air and noise pollution. For instance, Madagascar was not modernised until the 1950s when tourism started picking up pace which has, according to the statistics published by the University of Cleveland, caused a significant rise in carbon levels in the atmosphere. So, because tourism causes discomfort to the locals and also increases pollution it could be seen as a negative development.

There are lots of advantages of tourism which overshadows the disadvantages. To embark on, tourism jas increased the nation revenue significantly. A nation which has good finances can increase the standard of living and the per capita income of their citizens. To give an idea, the standard of living of people of France has improved significantly. This was single handedly made possible due to the Eiffel tower. Another advantage is the social and cultural exposure to the local inhabitants. People of different nationalities come together at one place and this causes a cultural exchange among people which leads to an increase in empathy among them. East Asian countries are a good example ,as they were, in the past, known to be xenophobic. But now they are the most friendly people on the planet. Therefore, economic stability and better interpersonal relationships with people of different countries has made tourism really important.

In conclusion, traveling and meeting people is an inherent trait among humans. In my opinion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages greatly. Though it may have it’s downsides like an increase in pollution, the advantages can’t be overlooked. Society could be made better when people meet and understand one another and when the economy is also boosted through this, that could be taken as a cherry on top.

The question of popular global leisure activity has always sparked heated controversy. While some people claim that the foreign travelling have disturbed the lives of human and is witnessing environmental changes ;some advocates believe that the tourist industry plays paramount role in uplifting the growth of nation. This essay will examine both the views, but personally ,I strongly advocate that international tourists is advantageous for the economy.

On the one hand, opponents of tourism claim that the world could face disruptions in the nature and could negatively impact the lives of man kind. This is largely due to the fact whenever any international tourist visits the country , they often condones the rules and regulations of that particular place which inturn causes complications for the people residing there. Not only people throw litter on streets but also causes damage to the public property. For instance, when sightseer visit countries, they throw the leftovers on the beach, which impacts the beauty of nature and also causes health related issues such as people are more prone to catch malaria and could develop skin infections.

However, country can improve the brand image and can generate employment opportunities with the increase in tourism. This can be explained as the volume of tourists increases in the nation , higher authorities will become meticulous towards the architecture and interior of the ancient buildings, where development will take place in the nation. Importantly, because international tourists are more fascinated towards the local products , ordinary people can sell their hand- crafted goods to the explorers where people can generate great source of revenue. According to my personal experience, Whenever I visit any international destination ,I always make sure to buy the domestic products of that specific country because the products come with excellent quality and are of reasonable price range .

In conclusion, the cited evidence provides strong support for the view that tourism is a great source of income and helps to improve the condition of economy . In the future, as more laws are introduced by government to control the damage caused by tourists to public properties and restrictions being imposed on tourists , this viewpoint will no doubt surge in popularity.

Tourism as an industry has grown by leaps and bounds for last 50 years, primarily fueled by the rapid increase in air travel and expansion in hospitality sector. Tourism has a vital role in the economic development of a country yet it has certain negative impacts in the environment and the local population. Let us have a brief discussion on each of these aspects.

There are several kinds of tourism like ecotourism, health tourism, heritage tourism, beach tourism, adventure tourism etc. If promoted with environmental implications in mind, tourism can turn out to be an excellent economic activity. Tourism is the primary source of foreign exchange for many countries. It is a lifeline for the economy of the so called tourist places and provides huge employment opportunities to the local inhabitants.

Tourism helps in the exchange of knowledge and ideas. It allows diverse set of people from a wide variety of backgrounds to interact each other which in turn makes them broad minded and learned individuals. The traditional arts and crafts also gets a big boost due to tourism which prevents them from getting perished.

The tourism has its own set of disadvantages too. It may degrade the environment in a massive scale. The accumulation of plastic and food wastes is a major concern. Plastics when abundantly deposited in soil and water destroys the ecological balance. Food waste can help spread diseases and also contaminate water drinking water sources. The governments should impose a strict ban on usage of plastics on such tourist places. Many a times it is observed that the shops and makeshift counters are allowed to operate indiscriminately which results in more garbage. Both tourists and shops should be fined for irresponsible behavior such as throwing waste in public places and water bodies.

Another major problem the tourism brings is the social and health concerns of the local inhabitants. Tourism brings new diseases to the locality and accelerates the spread of communicable diseases. Increase in tourism mostly increases the crime rates which impacts the societal life of local inhabitants. Tourism also brings more pollution which impacts the local society.

Overall tourism is a good economic and social activity which is beneficial to both the tourist and the host if done in a regulated, controlled and sustainable manner. It brings more harm than good if it is allowed in an uncontrolled manner.

It is not disagreeable that tourism like any other industry, has been indeed playing a major role in creation of employment pan world. Tourism has increased rapidly over the last few decades because of the travel companies providing packages at a much cheaper cost , that would be easily accessible to everyone irrespective of their financial status. In my opinion , there are equal pros and cons when it comes to tourism which we would discuss in the below paragraphs.

It is apparent that by visiting different places one could learn a lot about the culture and values that the local people over their follow which would further boost the economy. For example , every year thousands of tourists visit Taj Mahal because of the historic values that it has , that would further add value to the economy of the country as the price international tourists pay are more then what the local pays.

However , their are many negative points that can not be ignored and one of them is disturbance to the environment. Although, some of the places has great significant value which attracts tourists but results in over crowdedness and could easily hamper the work of local people. Pollution being one of the other concerns as when the number of tourists increase , the requirement of vehicles and hotels would also rise. Unfortunately , this results in cutting down of forests to make new hotels , thus disturbing the environment.

To summarize , I would like to say that tourism when it happens in a controlled way such that it does not effect the regular life of local population can be of no harm. This can happen only when it is monitored by the authorities that at particular time only a certain amount of travelers can visit.

Tourism has been one of the major aspects in boosting economy of various countries and results in increasing job opportunities. However, the increasing rate of tourism can cause negative impact on local inhabitants and the environment which can outweigh its advantages. The opportunities and obstacles caused by tourism is discussed below.

The major attraction caused by tourism lies in the monetary benefits acquired. The travel agencies and tourist companies make use of their opportunities in serving and aiding the tourists who are fascinated in meeting and experiencing diverse cultures. Apart from this, a country’s population is benefited from tourism by the various opportunities it offers which includes diversity of jobs offered in hotels, restaurants, car renting agencies, local shops resulting in tackling unemployment in tourist areas. The ingenuous groups lures tourists with their native artforms, cuisines and cultural attires who in turn gets benefited from the profits of selling these goods. The revenue from tourism can be utilized in various development of a country including the maintenance of infrastructure at tourist sites. Also, the revenue can be used in development of other areas of major concern of a country such as education facilities , health facilities and so on.

While looking from the other side, we could see the obstacles faced by a country due to tourism that can arise out of various reasons. Out of all the affected, the environment faces grave risks damages caused by tourism. A lot of natural tourist attractions are undergoing damages or being destructed due to less or poor care by tourists. Most of these places are often found polluted by plastics or other wastes ,which affects the flaura and fauna of the region. The natural sites such as wildlife, vegetation, water sources, forests, mountains, beaches lost their integrity and natural balance due to the exponential rate of pollution and damage caused. Another disadvantage is commercialization of cultural goods leading to lose of integrity of the region causing people focus on profits rather than preserving cultural identity. The countries depending only on tourism for major part of their economy can be adversely affected during the off seasons.

Thus government should be aware of the adverse effects of tourism that can’t be undone if left unchecked and take appropriate and adequate measures in protecting the environmental identity and integrity of a region to maintain ecological balance and preserving its natural self.

A lot of places in the world rely on tourism as a main source of income. Unfortunately, tourism can also be a source of problems if it is not managed correctly. Describe the advantages and disadvantages of tourism in the modern world. Do you think that benefits of tourism outweigh its drawbacks?

Tourism has been a backbone for the economic development of any country therefore government’s prime responsibility is always to take cogent & significant steps to make this sector strong but shortcomings along with this boom is undeniable. Today, I would like to exhibit some advantages & disadvantages of the subtle aspects of tourism & help you to reach to the conclusion.

Importantly, there’re three major advantages of excursion which are helping the government in generation of revenue; Portrait the positive image of the country worldwide & creations of opportunities.

Firstly, Government has allocated significant percent of budget in the development of the tourism in last few years by foreseen the escalation of revenue generation in coming years which would going to be turn out to be the helping hand for the country’s economic condition. Presently, the contribution of tourism is 7-8% in total GDP growth which is massively higher from last year.

Secondly, the country is known for its history & different cultures & traditions and that would make that country best place for tourists’. Tourists are always willing to cling on to the places which fascinate them in order of explore breathless beauty, historical places with interesting stories, hidden monuments, interested in studying & performing any research etc.

Thirdly, there’re lot of opportunities that ramble with the growth of excursions which help the development of area & provide earning options for the localities. The huge amount of job opportunities will arise which progressively fulfill the dreams of the people who don’t want to relocate for the sake of earning bread & butter.

However, there are ample of scenarios where we’ve witnessed the shortcomings of the tourism like devastation of tourist attractions & increase in the commercialization over the period of time.

The enormous crowd at the tourist place led to the destruction of actual essence of that place. Some tourists start exploiting the environment like they wouldn’t be visiting again which should be strictly refrained by the government by imposing some rules. Moreover, that’s help in maintaining & curbing splendid environment.

Also, wherever the crowd is increased, the commercialized activities would be increased accordingly, apparently all the commodities will become expensive & overvalued which gives the negative impression among the foreign tourist’s hence foreign tourists traffic gets restricted that’s result in the tremendous fall off revenue. Imperative measures should be taken by the government to keep a tab on the growth of unwanted commercialization.

In order to wrap up the
essay, although few disadvantages of tourism for which government is vigilant
to head off the scenarios, there are multiple advantages of tourism for its
exemplary stake in the development of the country.

Some people argue that tourism has a negative effect on the environment while others believe that it is beneficial for the economy. In my opinion, I think that exploration is essential for the financial system for several reasons that will be explained in the following paragraphs.

To begin with, travelers from across the world spend their money in the hosting country, thus the income increase significantly. For example, the visitors expend lots of their cash on different tourist attractions such as hotels amusement parks and transportation. This results in aggrandizing the annual profit of that state. Furthermore, to accommodate for the high rate of exploration, the governments improve their infrastructure which not only attracts more people but also investing companies worldwide. To illustrate, more investors with well-known brands are captivated by the ease and stability of the province which rise the number of visitors dramatically.

On the other hand, tourism can have a negative influence on the local habitat of the nations. One clear example is cutting the trees to build new shopping malls and facilities to take in more travelers and stakeholders. Moreover, the massive increase in the number of people increases the level of waste produced dramatically and leads to environmental pollution. In other words, using more vehicles during transportation surged the rate of air pollution which affects the local plants and animals including birds in a hideous way.

In conclusion, tourism is essential for all countries especially for their providence, however, without being cautious, it can cause grave problems on the enduring.
