Most people believe that the government should concentrate more on lowering enviornmental pollution and housing problems to get rid of illness and diseases. I totally agree to this point of view. In my opinion, to stop spreading of various ailments or diseases the government should take action in minimizing pollution and housing related issues.

Enviornmental pollution is the biggest threat in this modern era. The alarmingly increasing number of vehicles emits toxic gases which causes air pollution thereby resulting in serious health hazards. Most of the factories also contributes in polluting air by releasing various toxins and chemicals. In many of the developed cities, waste management is poor and wastes are dumped in the water sources. Thus these gets contaminated leading to the spreading of contagious diseases. The government should enforce law and order in lessening the pollution thereby saving the natural resources as well as the health of common people.

In the present situation, due to the high population, there is a house in every nook and corner. It is very important in maintaining cleanliness and proper ventilation in housing as illness of diseases spreads out much faster in a crowded area. Waste disposal is also an important thing to be taken care of as this can be a pathway for serious health hazards. Thus ensuring basic necessities such as hygiene and ventilation and proper waste management can eradicate the spreading of diseases to a great extent.

To sum up, I strongly agree to the idea that the government should take extra care in lowering pollution and housing problems for preventing illness and diseases.

The two maps given illustrate the transformations that occurred in Felixstone in 1967 and 2001.

It is evident from the pictorial representation that Felixstone has undergone notable changes over the years in terms of infrastructure and plantations wherein golf course, high street shops, and cafe were preserved.

In the year 1967, the high street is abundant with shops on both the sides. Towards the west side of the high street is the golf course and farmland lies in the east side. A hotel and a cafe can be seen nearby the dunes. The southern side of the town has the sea and the marina pier is connected to it. Also there is a fish market lying just above the pier.

The major changes that occured in Felixstone in 2001 is that the farmlands were replaced by hotels with swimming pool and tennis courts. Some of the shops nearby high street were transformed to apartments. The golf course, cafe and dunes survived the advancement of time. The hotel was renovated by including car parking. Public and private beaches replaced the sea and the marina pier and few wind turbines were constructed near the sea.

Most people feel that the process of learning a language should be started at the initial stages of schooling, wherein others believe that it can be done later. In my opinion, children should be encouraged to learn a language early in school. This essay examines the pros and cons of both the sides.

It is said that children are fast learners than adults as their curiosity to know new things fuels the learning process. Since children are moved on to different countries for higher education, learning a language at a young age can be seen as a survival skill for future life. The ability to grasp a language easily lies in the fact that brain forming occurs at an early age. Hence knowing a language other than the mother tongue is an asset and it is better to be taught in the early days of school.

Some believe that the language-learning process should be initiated in the later days of education. The main reason behind this is that students at a younger age might not be able to pull it off along with their mandatory syllabus. And this can become a burden to the students thereby causing harm rather than good. Also focusing on learning other languages may affect in knowing the mother tongue deeply.

To conclude, although learning a language at an early age can cause some difficulties, it has an extremely positive impact on a student’s personal and professional life. I strongly believe that this positive side of learning a language at younger age outweighs the other.

The above line graph illustrates different sources of air pollutants in the UK between 1990 and 2005.

Overall, the total air pollutants and industry sources depicted a steep decrease in emission, whereas the households and transport sources experienced both an upward and downward trend.

In 1990, the total air and industry pollutants contributed above 4 million tonnes in emission respectively. Both the rates decreased sharply over the period of time reaching nearly 2 and 3 million tonnes in 2005. In the meantime, the total air pollutants reduced to 4 million tonnes in 1999 and remained steady until 2002. During 2002-2005, it experienced a rapid decrease to 3 million tonnes while the industry sources showed from 1990 to 2002 and remained steady till 2005.

In early 1990, the households and transport sources equally contributed in pollution and remained steady until 1993. However, the household sources showed an increase from 1996 – 1999 and then dramatically declined to nearly zero in 2005. In the meanwhile, the transport sources varied linearly till 1999 and experienced a slight increase thereby remaining constant till 2005.
