It is often argued that newspaper and magazines will hold no relevance in future, instead latest technology and online books will be the preferred means of gaining information. In my opinion, the future belongs to E-books and digitalization. This essay will discuss firstly, the easy availability of online books and secondly, how technical upgradation promotes and maintains an eco-friendly atmosphere; followed by a reasoned conclusion.

First of all, with technology, it has now become possible for people to buy devices that support digital books at an affordable rate. Anyone sitting anywhere in the world can have easy accessibility to online books, in fact downloading a book from installed application is way more simpler than arranging for daily newspaper and magazines. This can be illustrated by the fact that the Kindle has maximum number of subscription across the globe. I am not denying the fact that some older age group people still enjoys reading traditional newspaper, books and magazines because they find it more comfortable.

Apart from being user-friendly, digital books are also eco-friendly. The printing process itself involves using of harmful chemicals and ink that can have deleterious effect on human beings as well as animals. Moreover, billion of trees are chopped down every year for the paper manufacturing process, thus putting an impact on environment. Such problems are not encountered with digital books.

Therefore, I strongly believe that traditional newspaper and magazines will be no longer in use over the next few years. It is recommended that government should allow subscription of online books site at a cheaper rate.

  • It is often argued by some people that advertisements are benefecial at insisting us to buy goods, while for others promotion plays no role in purchasing things. In my opinion, advertisements are very useful and show a favourable outcome in encouraging us to buy things. This essay will discuss firstly, benefits of advertisements in informing people about new products in the market and secondly, comparison with similar products it allows; followed by a reasoned conclusion.

First of all, advertisements give a lot of information about new products that has been launched or soon to be launched in the market. Even if, people living in remote areas like hilly region or villages do not have easy access, still they could be aware of new things available. For example a US based company like Amazon, are spending huge amount of money on marketing and advertisements. Because of this initiative a majority of its products are bought in far away countries like India. I am not denying the fact that too much advertisements at times confuses people or make them resistant to a particular product.

Secondly, it is easier for a customer to compare the same type of things available in the market with advertisements. In almost every sector, range of products have cropped up and it poses quite a challenge for buyers to choose the better one. Because of advertisements and promotion, it is far easier to decide the benefits of one over the other. for instance, market is flooded with range of skin products but which one will suit a particular skin type is mostly determined by the comparison we make with the others through advertisements. Despite this, advertisements can at times be too boring and dull and can often go unnoticed by people.

In conclusion, advertisements are extremely beneficial in persuading us to buy things. It is recommended that more logical, authentic and valuable advertisements must be approved by the regulatory body.

The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of five main reasons for choosing bicycle or car by people when travelling to work. Overall, it can be seen that a majority of people use bicycle for staying fit and healthy and for maintaining ecofriendly atmosphere, while comfort is the main reason for people driving to work.

To begin, around one-third of people uses bicycle for maintaining health and fitness. Likewise, same proportion of people are citing minimal pollution as the reason for choosing cycling. A fraction of thirteen percent says that cycling is cost effective and less than one fifth finds no parking problems with parking bicycles. In matter of speed, a minority of people find cycling as a faster mode of commute, whereas, less than a fifth finds car to be more faster.

In contrast, two-fifths of people choose driving to work for comfort. Just over one – fifth of people cites long distance to be the reason for using car. A small minority finds car safer than bicycles and less than a fifth say that they don’t need to carry things to work when they are driving.

The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of online shopping sales in four retailing sector from 2005 to 2010 in Canada. Overall, it can be seen that Electronics & Appliance and Food & Beverages had the biggest sales in both years, while the sales of video games had increased, the percentage of Home furnishings sales declined over the period of time.

To begin, Electronics & Appliance sales were just over a one-third in the year 2005, highest among the four sectors at that time. The proportion however, decreased to five percent, finishing off at thirty percent in 2010. Likewise, the sales of Home Furnishings decreased from a quarter in 2005 to less than one-fifth in 2010, making it the least sold sector of that year.

In contrast, Food & Beverage showed a hike in its sales from twenty two percent in 2005 to just under a one-third in 2010. Similar pattern was observed in the fraction of video games, where the sales increased from less than a one-fifth to just under a quarter in 2010.

  • The chart illustrates the quantitative data of three aquatic animals in the Gormez Straits between 2006 and 2018. Overall, it can be seen that while the amount of dolphins had significantly increased, figures of seals and whales showed a marginal rise over the period of time.

To begin, population of dolphin were slightly over fifteen in 2006, least among three at that time. A constant upward trend was seen and the number of whales rose to around fifty two by the year 2018, which was far higher than seals and whales.

Although, the quantity of seals were highest in 2006, their amount plummeted to half in four years period. The figures, then began to rise steadily finishing off at forty three, slightly higher from where the data was initially recorded. Likewise, the information on whales too showed fluctuations, although less significant than seals. The figures revealed around twenty two whales in 2006 and continued to show a slow rise till 2014, where the numbers declined to just above twenty, lowest at that time. The amount of whales then increased to an approximate of twenty eight by the year 2018.
