  • Well-known people such as films and sports personalities, nowadays, tend to speak their minds on public matters or things which are unrelated to their profession. In my opinion, this is a negative development because celebrities typically do not have relevant information on political matters and they should refrain from commenting on public affairs unless well versed on such subjects.

Unwise opinions can have a negative influence on people. In contemporary times, news spread like wildfire and any injudicious comment or action by celebrities can cause a negative impact on the mainstream audience. Recently, there is an increase in controversies which are caused not just by differences in opinions but more by limited knowledge and unmindful views of some film stars.
It is also seen that some social media influencers share controversial views to attract attention and gain followers. Therefore, it is imperative that this behavior should not be encouraged so that right to freedom of opinion and expression is not misused.

Some sensitive topics should be left to the experts. People tend to follow TV personalities blindly and get influenced by any positive or negative opinion of theirs’.However, If celebrities educate themselves well before sharing their opinions on a particular political matter, it can encourage their fans to have a mindful opinion. Many surveys show that mainstream audiences have been falling prey to misleading pieces of information shared on social media by famous people. Therefore, expert advice and opinions only should hold relevance.

In conclusion, It is crucial that celebrities should either stay updated with public affairs to the ground level or should avoid sharing their views if they are not well aware of the subject.

  • There is a common notion that men tend to be more competitive and ambitious as compared to women.I agree to this view to some extent.

Men have innate characteristic of being competitive because of the fact that that it was developed during human evaluation when men typically had to fight for protection of themselves and their families. In ancient times when men had to take responsibility of being involved in physically challenging tasks where as women shared responsibility of taking care of household work, has deeply affected the women’s upbringing and roles of men and women even in present times. For example, some scientific studies show that presence of some type of harmones in higher levels in men than women is one of the reasons of higher dominance and competitiveness in men.

However,in 21st century there is a seismic shift in the stereotypical belief that women are not as competitive as men .Women have been able to show their mettle in various fields and are highly successful. There is a gradual decline in the traditional and strict gender-specific notions as a result women are equally competing with men in many areas like sports and managerial jobs. For example, In some surveys taken, it was highlighted that many female candidates had been able to secure top ranks in various competitive exams in past few years. They are also leading in some prestigious companies by taking up managerial roles like CEOS and managers.

In conclusion, although due to ancient patriarchal practices there had been influence on people’s mindset that women are less ambitious and competitive than men leading them to not being allowed to take up challenging roles. However, this stereotypical belief is changing as women have excelled in many competitive and challenging fields.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Sonali, one of the regular customers of your supermarket. I am writing this to complain about mismanaged furniture which caused a injury to my hand.

I met with a minor accident when I was shopping at second aisle of food section while searching for an item on the top shelf. A protruding iron nail on the shelf injured my right hand causing me to go through a lot of pain. There was lack of first-aid and was provided very little help from management.Later, that day I had to take tetanus injection which was again stressful for me.

Most of the shelves in the supermarket are mismanaged which have caused inconvenience for a lot of customers.Since there is an increase in number of older people who visit these days to the supermarket ,they are much likely to get injured due to such careless incidents.

I suggest that regular inspections and an increase in vigilance can avoid such accidents in future.

    Thank you.

    Yours faithfully,

    Sonali

  • People suggest that there should be a flexible age of retirement for employees considering their occupation type.I strongly agree with this view because different occupations demand different effort and therefore, workers in such jobs should be treated differently.

Fairness should be granted by taking into account difficulty level in a job. Some jobs require a lot of physical and mental effort without much period for recreation or relaxation which can cause recurring mental fatigue in some people over a period of time. There fore, it is important that employees in such type of jobs have a freedom to enjoy retirement at an early age.For example, as per my observation, I think some jobs are demanding ,so people ignore exercise and healthy habits during their young age while spending a lot of time at their workplaces but these practices can prove to be fatal if continued till late adulthood. Therefore, such people should have benefit of early retirement with less work related responsibilities.

Construction workers and workers with disability should be exempted from working after 60 years of age and should be allowed to enjoy the benefit of pension at an early age. This is because construction workers need great deal of physical strength to carry out tasks like manual labour which is stressful and hazardous after late middle age as people usually start losing physical strength at this age.
Similarly, for people with disability, government should provide age relaxation for retirement so that they can enjoy their late adulthood with less work related responsibilities.

In conclusion, depending on the circumstances and type of occupation there should be a flexible age for retirement so that workers like construction workers and people with disability can enjoy pension benefits at an early age.

Usefulness of advertising has been questioned by many. Some believe that advertisements are a way to attract people into buying unnecessary products. However, I think advertisements educates a person about the product and it’s functions.

On one hand, people argue that advertisements are luring people into buying products that are not necessary to them.Nowadays, the sole purpose of advertisements is to gain a person’s attention rather than telling the real facts about the product. A lot of ads are deceiving customers by depicting false information about the product and proving it helpful for the public.
For example, Many India’s were deceived by advertisements from a company broadcasted on popular news channels which promised to produce inexpensive phones and demanded prebooking.

On the contrary, I believe that advertising is convenient way to showcase a product’s features and functionalities.Advertisements on various social media platform makes it easier to compare features and prices of similar products. Although, advertisements these days are hard to believe, they are nonetheless necessary. It is a person’s responsibility to purchase a product with careful consideration. For example, nowadays Amazon has an option to compare prices, screen size, battery power etc of smart phones which makes it easier for a potential buyer to make decisions smartly and in less time.

To conclude, advertisements are necessary for a buyer to know about product features, functionalities and prices. Although, it is a person’s responsibility to be mindful and make a right decision whether or buy the product or not according to his or her needs.

Some suggest that people visiting another country should observe the customs and eating habits followed in that country. I totally agree to this idea because a country is made rich and colourful by it’s customs and practices.

One one hand, there is an argument that there is an amplitude of different social practices in different countries which is extremely difficult for one person to follow all of them. A person visiting a different country might be new to the customs or religious practices of that particular country and instead of following them wrongly and disrespecting them, it is sensible to not follow them at all. For example. An American visiting India for the first time might not be fimiliar to the dress code in a temple, so rather than being furious on the American for his lack of knowledge, it is best to impart some knowledge with open mind.

On the other hand, I believe that a country is usually known from the traditions and cultural and social practices that they follow and a visitor must respect and try to follow such rules and practices. A person must try his best to blend in with the people of the country by respecting and obeying the rules that they follow. For example, a person visiting an Arab country should research about it’s people’s customs and eating habits to avoid any cultural shocks. He should learn that it is compulsory to follow a strict dress code in public places which might otherwise hurt their citizen’s sentiments.

To conclude, a person visiting a country must learn about the country’s customs and practices that he is going to visit and should try to display the respect for the country by following them.
