Technology plays a pivotal role in our life as many tasks which needed human intervention can be done by machines. However, this trend has both advantages as well as disadvantages, I feel it has more positive impacts on our life than otherwise. I will discuss both sides in this essay.

Let us discuss the positives first, with the help of emerging technologies we can solve the problems which were thought of as impossible in past. The ease of convenience which we can have in almost all walks of our life has its roots in science and technology. We can commute between home to the office while watching a movie and talk to someone like sitting next to him/her while being thousands of kilometers away all because of technological advancements. Many dangerous tasks like going deep in a tunnel to extract some minerals can be done by robots that are otherwise hazardous to humans.

However, there are some obvious downsides of technology, like lack of creativity, taking away jobs before humans can reskill themselves. All in all, machines can be highly accurate in doing the tasks which are assigned to them, but they can not do think which require imagination and skills to solve problems that haven’t been solved yet, for example inventing vaccines for a deadly virus.

In conclusion, we can safely say that technology has democratized our society and has given us free time which can be utilized for doing things that matter to us most. Although it has some negative aspects like making people less social, all those things are dependent on how we use it.

Dear Sir,

I want to highlight the recent mistake in one of the article which was published in the January edition of your magazine ‘The Quest’. The map of the state Maharashtra was depicted incorrectly, in which the entire district of my town was shown in neighboring state.

It is important to show the correct geographical boundaries of province as people have emotions attached to it. Sometimes these small mistakes can take political flavors which does not create a conducive environment for peace, for which we all strive for. Also, your magazine is referred by many students who are preparing for various exams and if they consume the wrong information than that will cost them in exams.

Please sure to take official references whenever you have to show any factual geographical information so that such mistakes can be avoided in future. Also, please make sure you highlight this mistake in your forthcoming edition so that your readers are aware of it.
