Mankind has witnessed development in most or all areas of life until the beginning of 1900s. Today, there is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to improvements in certain areas of life. This essay will discuss the most progressive areas and highlight some of the lesser developed ones.

Technology has seen the best advancements of this generation. World connectivity is at its peak due to the developments being made in this sector. As a result, we get to experience things like virtual reality which is another form of tech genius. Furthermore, shopping is one other area which has seen great transitions compared to before. Introduction to online shopping is a blessing for many in the 21st century as people can buy anything in the convenience of their homes. Gone are the days of Brick-and-Mortar shops, we live in the age of same day delivery by shopping from internet giants like Amazon.

On the contrary, parts of the same world are still fighting to eradicate poverty and child abuse for centuries. There is no appropriate support for people who don’t have access for necessities such as food, shelter and clothing around the globe despite the many advances taking place. Exploitation of children is one of the most sensitive issues that needs immediate attention but is often neglected. For instance, world renown places like Mumbai are house to the world’s biggest slum as well as witnesses the most child trafficking.

To conclude, despite the transformations in areas namely technology and online shopping, the world is still not able to get rid of major problems such as poverty and child labour or abuse. No matter how much progress takes place in the coming years, there is no certainty that human race will witness any changes in these areas.

November 10, 2021 at 5:14 PM in reply to: Problem-Solution Essay [Night Shifts]

Shift workers often face issues due to working odd hours on an extended basis. These workers might have difficulties in their lifestyles which needs attention. This essay will discuss some problems that they might encounter and state possible solutions.

Adults who work night shifts usually suffer from insomnia which results in health issues. As these people stay awake at night working hard, they find it extremely difficult to sleep during the day when the whole world is on the run. This lack of sleep creates health issues because it becomes very hard for them to eat at night-time, and they are unable to feed themselves during the day. Another problem that these employees may stumble upon is losing concentration due to irregular timings at work, which is also indirectly a related to insomnia.

Some of these problems might be solved by following a proper routine when it comes to sleep and eating habits. Night shift workers must ensure they follow a strict sleeping schedule by keeping alarms if required and not being disturbed during their rest time. Simultaneously, a healthy diet should be adhered to with minimum of 3 meals either during the day or night. Lastly, for people with jobs that involve shifts, it is recommended to keep a diary or a to-do list so even if they get distracted, they can always refer to these notes.

In conclusion, people who work shifts must have a plan in place to tackle problems such as insomnia, concentration loss and health issues. A considerable amount of sleep is required and skipping meals is not an option. As a precaution, it is a good idea to keep a work journal just in case people lose focus.

November 8, 2021 at 6:07 PM in reply to: Advantages – Globalization

It is becoming less evident to distinguish a country from another with increasing globalisation. People around the world prefer a similar kind of taste when it comes to clothing, television, brand choice and diet. This essay will elaborate on how the advantages of this trend surpasses the disadvantages.

Globally, we are so interconnected that understanding and accepting the universal language is the new way to be. To second that, the world is unified now than ever before, due to many countries welcoming different cultures and traditions with open hearts. People prefer to get ahead of the trend so much that they buy the clothes which a famous brand endorses worldwide. Additionally, there is a global platform for mostly every industry one can think of. For instance, Netflix for entertainment, Amazon for shopping and McDonalds for food.

On the contrary, people who would like to hold onto their cultural beliefs and values find this mixing of cultures very disheartening. By adapting to a very similar kind of lifestyle, mankind is walking towards a more modernised future where everyone would be expected to simply blend in. Adults feel embarrassed to use their hands for eating a regional dish like biryani, they give in to peer pressure and start using fork. For example, English is a universal language and a person who cannot speak it would not be able to survive in many countries.

To conclude, the world is becoming more and more globalized as people adapt to new trends really quickly. As a result, it has become tough to retain our traditional belief systems. However, the presence of diversity and multiculturalism speaks volumes in favour of the unity around the world.

November 8, 2021 at 8:57 AM in reply to: Writing Task 2 – Advantages/Disadvantages – Migration to Cities

Many people are migrating to cities from villages looking for jobs around the world. As the number of people moving to metropolitan regions increases, this situation creates an imbalance in the workforce. If we look at long term benefits, it is favourable to make a move for a financially stable future. This essay will discuss pros and cons of the situation.

People migrate to bigger cities in search for better work opportunities. Firstly, cities are far more developed than villages in terms of providing livelihood. A city inhabits major multinational organisations that can employ larger number of people. Secondly, a stable job in a major firm leads to financial stability and security that everyone demands these days. For instance, a sales manager is offered a position with a fixed salary along with other benefits such as a car, a mobile phone and an apartment.

If we look at the negative side of this situation, those who migrate from villages settle with blue collar jobs and barely make money for basic needs. As the number of people making a move into the cities increases, the rate of unemployment also goes up. People resort to other less stable jobs in the hope of getting something better someday. Qualified people are often found working commission jobs or door to door selling which is not an ideal situation in the modern world.

To conclude, people leave their hometown to find a stable job that leads to a better lifestyle. As many youngsters do not get employed in white collar jobs due to scarcity in the market, they need to settle for less to make a living. The advantages of migration to cities outweigh the disadvantages in the long run.

November 6, 2021 at 5:19 PM in reply to: Opinion Essay [Customer Reviews]

Consumers tend to read online reviews before making purchasing decisions. Looking at reviews is quite useful but might not necessarily be the only deciding factor while buying. This essay will explore on views about online ratings.

It is becoming increasingly popular to give feedback these days. People get showered with forms to fill and surveys to take pretty much about everything in their day to day lives. Some websites give credit points to buyers for reviewing their products. Whether it is before buying a mobile phone, shopping online or eating at cafes and restaurants, people are big on reviews. There are dedicated Youtube channels related to product reviews. It is indeed become one of the most important factor that easily influences customers.

Sometimes, simply reading through public’s opinions and perspectives might be overwhelming. If we look at a popular item of interest, there might be some positive and some negative reviews about it which might influence a customer to go against their own will. Evidently, there is very little disappointment for products purchased solely based on reviews. However, there are some things to consider while using customer reviews such as the number of people who have reviewed and if they have shared pictures of the actual product. Although people create fake accounts to post irrelevantly on the web to gain some publicity, I think customer reviews is a great tool at our disposal that allows us to carefully evaluate the things we wish to buy.

To conclude, online reviews are reliable and a useful tool before making a purchasing decision. Customers must carefully read and evaluate prior to making a decision as they may encounter fake reviews that might be misleading.

October 31, 2021 at 2:40 PM in reply to: Discuss both views – [Children Spending Time Alone]

Kids are often motivated by their folks to participate in team activities in their free time. According to some people it is equally important for children to learn to spend time in their own company. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument and explain the writer’s opinion.

If we consider western culture and upbringing of children, we usually hear a lot about involvement in extracurricular activities. From organised schedules after school hours to weekends filled with either socialising or grooming to become a better version of ourselves. Children try to fit in as if it is a race even if they feel lost. Children who go against fulfilling the societal norms are frowned upon or end up becoming rebels. The difference in generations between parents and their children comes as a clash in opinions and dreams. For instance, taking piano lessons or learning ballet has become a norm that should be followed in order to get ahead.

Young children seldom spend time on doing things that they actually like. Developing our identity from a young age helps us in many ways when we grow up. It not only makes us independent but also increases our self-awareness and understanding of the world around us. For example, reading a book with a cup of coffee after a busy week brings us peace that taking part in group exercises never would.

Overall, spending time by ourselves makes us feel more comfortable and able on our own. Although there is little attention given to creating and displaying ourselves from a young age, I think as the world is getting technologically advanced, it is also becoming rather modernized. Our social media feeds are filled with quotes about self-love, self-respect, and enjoying alone time. Being alone does not necessarily mean you are lonely.
