Nowadays, non-biodegradable packaging of goods has become hazardous for the environment, due to which some people think that manufacturers and supermarket are responsible, while others feels that it is customer’s responsibility to avoid buying excessive packaging goods. I will discuss on both the views in this essay.

On one hand, one has to believe that manufacturers are the main problem because they initiate the excessive packaging which furthers more degrades the environment causing loss of aquatic life, polluting the water bodies like seas, oceans. As the packaging is non-biodegradable it doesn’t decomposes and organisms which eats it eventually die because of blockage in their digestive system. For example in aquatic food chain, turtle eats jelly fish which looks a lot like transparent polyethene which causes death of the organism and causes disbalance in the ecosystem.

On the other hand, people don’t step up, to refuse using of packaging, as many of them don’t know that it is hazardous for the environment or dependent on the government for taking a step.

To stop the manufacturing of packaging goods, people can step up and encourage others not to buy packaging products which will decrease the manufacturing of product’s packaging, or boycotting the products packaged with plastics. Manufacturers can change the packaging at an initial phase and can use biodegradable and recycled eco-friendly packaging so that it doesn’t harm the ecosystem. For example in many states government has taken steps to promote paper bags and to avoid using of plastic bags, by putting fine on people using them.

In a nutshell, I would say that it is the responsibility of both the manufacturers and customers who are buying it, both should be concerned about the environmental damage.

January 27, 2022 at 1:59 PM in reply to: Task 2: (Agree/disagree) : Money management

To succeed in life, youngsters should be taught to handle money with care, yes I completely agree with it, as it develops the necessary skill which teaches them a lesson for future.

Money management skill should be inculcated in the teenagers so that they can be financially independent and not rely on parents for any further financial help. Mostly youngsters spend their whole saving on amusement and fun which leads to financial crisis in future.

Parents have the responsibility to teach them management of money, discussing bills with them, teaching them about debit and credit, about finance. Furthermore, schools should also have session to teach students about management so that they can save maney for further educational purposes. When Youngsters will start doing jobs in future this would help them save money for future crisis and their generations.

In conclusion, I will say that students should inculcate life managing skills in everyday life which will help them furthermore will make them financially independent.

The pie charts illustrate the household essential needs budget in China for the years 1995 and 2011 data in percentage.

Overall, food is the highest priority of essential household item followed by clothing which was approx one fourth, then the household goods which holds some percentage, and least necessity was given to medicine, which was not even one tenth.

Since 1995, food priority was two third as in 68% but in 2011, there was a minor decrement of 9%. There was a marginal drop of 1%, but still clothing holds one of the most essential budgets in china.

Although, medicine became priority of people in 16 years after 1995, with a major increase of 7% from 4% in 2011. Furthermore, there was adequate increase of 2% in household goods in 2011, from 9% to 11%.

So, at last there was a major change mainly in food, which decreased on the other hand, medicine, which increased.

There are different perspectives that some people thinks government should be responsible about the environment, while other people think that citizens should also be concerned about the environment. I will support both the statements in the essay.

Firstly, government should be accountable for implementing the laws and punishing people who are not obeying the laws regarding protection of environment. Government bodies should regulate and keep checking the industries and power plants for proper dumping of chemical compounds, industrial and radioactive waste after treating them and then releasing it in water bodies, so it won’t harm the aquatic environment, collecting garbage different for biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, and recycling the waste. For example, government in India has started “Swach bharat abhiyan” for keeping environment clean.

Secondly, people should also be concerned about the environment; they should educate their children about conserving nature, so that we have a better environment for future generations. Citizens should use more public transport, instead of using cars and bikes to stop the harmful gases affecting nature, using dustbin rather than throwing garbage in the locality, reducing the use of plastics in everyday use and to go green using only things which can be decomposed. For example- people of Japan organises many events of cleaning the rivers and the neighborhood.

In conclusion, I would say that it’s not just responsibility of either government or an individual, with the effort of everyone, we could save the earth from these hazardous chemicals compounds and toxic gases which is degrading natural habitat.

January 14, 2022 at 1:51 PM in reply to: Task 1 (Line graph : Goods transported)

The line graph demonstrates number of goods in million tonnes transported in the UK during years 1974-2002 through 4 distinct ways road, water, rail, and pipeline.

In all transport, road is the most operated means of transport which had rapid increase during 1994-2000 reaching around 95 million tonnes starting from 70 million tonnes. After road, water, >then rail,>then pipeline are the most chosen one. Water and pipeline passage increased sharply during 1974-1982 however; there was not a consistent growth of both the passages during 1982-1994. Water transport increased from 38 to 62 million tonnes. Rail transport usage got gradually increased from 1994-2002 going from 30 to 41 million tonnes.

After 1978 there was a gradual decrease in the road transport till 1982 from 75 to 65 million tonnes. In water ways there was a sharp decrease during 1994-1998 from 58 to 45 million tonnes. In rail ways there was twice decrement during 1978-1986 then from 1990-1994. In pipeline, which is the least chosen in all 4 transports got a decrement in 1990-1994 from 25 to 20 million tonnes.

January 12, 2022 at 3:18 PM in reply to: Task2 : Blood sports

It is barbaric that the human kind are exploiting creatures for their pleasure and earning money through blood sports, which causes pain and death to animals. It should be forbidden, by taking steps by the government and public at the earliest.

Since ages, in many cultures humans are harming animals for pleasure, like example Spain, Portugal are known for bull fighting in their cultures, In Latin America also dog fights are quite common. People are betting on these animals’s life which is brutal to animals taking their life.

Some people are doing business by blood sport, they telecast through websites on internet, and earning profit through it.

Blood sport cruelty should be forbidden by the government by making laws and punishing people who are earning and using animals for entertainment purposes. Any kind of activity apart from blood sport which is harming animals in any way should be banned. For example, in Spain many amendments were passed in country during 2011 to stop bull fighting blood sport culture.

To summarise, I would say that doing violence with animals does not make us human, and it is inhumane of us to treat animals with cruelty for pleasure purposes.

January 4, 2022 at 2:06 PM in reply to: Task 2 ( discuss both the views) : University or Job

me people thinks that going to a university is more successful while others thinks that getting job after school is important.

Firstly, going to a university provides you more knowledge about the education field you choose. Like if you want to be a doctor then you have to be studying MBBS and in today’s world because of rising competition you have to specialized in that field.

While looking for job after school gives you more experience and pratical skills than just theoretical. And secondly you can be independent rather than relying on parents financially. Like Elon Musk said that studing in school gives enough education to deal with practical life.

So it can be either depending on your choices but according to me it is safe you complete a degree in a field, as it gives you a vast knowledge to the field and it gives you more earning and job opportunity.
