With the advancement in Information technology, virtual communication through social media has gained popularity. It is frequently argued that these social media interactions are killing the original meaning of communication. As far as I am concerned, I firmly believe that face-to-face interactions are always better than that made through a digital platform. In this essay we will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of virtual interactions.
Discussing the advantages first, social media has empowered us in contacting a distant friend or relative. We can be a participate in their happiness or grief with a single click. For instance, with social networking sites like Facebook and Whatsapp we can instantly convey our messages to our friends. Old times when a single telegram used to take days to be delivered seem so difficult now. Thus, these social media handles have surely helped pupil to stay connected with friends and family living in different countries.
On the contrary, there are several unforeseen disadvantages to it. Firstly, kids these days are glued either to their mobile phones or computers. Even though they have enough time to play outdoors, they deny doing so which has affected their social development badly. Secondly, although people are well connected virtually but everyone is losing interest in face-to-face interactions. No one is concerned to know who lives in their neighbourhood and sometimes this negligence results in terrorists renting houses in our locality.
To summarize, I would like to mention that advancing with the technology and communicating with distant relatives is a blessing that came in the form of social media. However, we should not sacrifice in-person communications which is important for social development.

Communication is the key to every civilization. Throughout the world, countries not only have a distinct culture but also a different language altogether. Many people argue that with the rise in international tourism, English will soon be the only language spoken worldwide while others have a firm belief that every language has its roots embedded too deep to be vanished so easily. In this essay we will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of having a single language throughout the world.
Discussing the advantages first, If we know that the same dialect can be used throughout the world, communication will become much more easier. We can travel around the globe with the knowledge of a single tongue. Moreover, understanding foreign literature would become far more easier and more pleasurable. For an instance, all the vedic Indian literature is encrypted in Sanskrit and it takes years of understanding of the vernacular to finally understand those writings. Having a single language throughout the nations will make these writings more approachable. Thus, having a single language throughout the world makes communication and understanding of historical writings an easier task.
On the contrary, there are several disadvantages of having a single dialect worldwide. Firstly, this will indirectly lead to a loss of cultural heritage. A country’s history is not only known with its stories but also with the languages they are stated in. With limited use of other languages, these histories will be lost in the dark. For example, a little is known about the Dravidian history just because its native language Tulu is not spoken by enough people. Secondly, the weaker sections of the society will not have enough resources to learn a new mother tongue. Thus, for them communication will become harder. Therefore, having one language worldwide does not seem to be a good option if we consider protecting our cultural heritage as well as prosperity for all sections of the society.
To conclude, having the same tongue worldwide can make communication easier for a majority of people who have the resources to learn it, however, the poorer class of society with limited assets can not benefit from the same.

The given diagram depicts the production of electricity by a model which uses wave energy. Overall, the mechanism of electricity generation depends on the direction of wave in the chamber. The structure is constructed along the cliff or sea wall and constitutes of an air column, a rotating turbine, a chamber and an electricity producing unit besides the turbine. The column is a narrow cylindrical passage which connects chamber (the largest sub-structure) to the environment.
When a sea wave proceeds into the chamber, there is movement of air from the chamber into the column from where it exits into the atmosphere. This outward movement of the air leads to clockwise rotation of the turbine thus producing electricity.
On the other hand, when wave recedes from the chamber, outside air is sucked into the column and then into the chamber, again rotating turbine in the clockwise direction and this further leads to generation of electricity.

When an individual is aware of the consequences of his action and moreover, knows what is at stake, he thinks twice before committing any offence. For example, when government had increased the duration of imprisonment for rape from 3 years to 10 years, there was rapid decrease in the incidence that year. Thus, increasing prison sentence can reduce the occurrence of crime as no one wants to stay in a languished condition.
On the contrary, it is also important to find alternative methods to reform criminals. A large number of prisoners commit a crime under a particular situation. Thus, it is important to contemplate the root cause of the act committed and to decide punishment based on them. Moreover, they can be sent to reformation homes or enrolled in vocational trainings. To illustrate one such example, a Canadian prisoner Andrew Whales studied Law while he was in prison for a false theft complaint and later he emerged as a renowned Criminal Lawyer of the state. Therefore, if given adequate opportunities even criminals can malleate a bright future.
In my opinion, although strict punishments are justified for heinous crimes but for offenders who commit a crime under some need, their situation should be taken into consideration and judged accordingly.

Firstly, it is with the help of these advertisements only that we can buy products that suits our requirements. We can do a detailed search regarding the concerned product, as well as compare it with similar products and finally end up choosing the one that justifies our need. Just imagine a person with minimal usage of mobile phone buying a costly high-end gaming phone, thus, wasting his money. Undoubtedly, advertisements help in choosing the best suited product and ruling out the products that are increasing the price of the item but will not be in our use.
Secondly, advertisements also introduce you to the newer facilities available. With the advancement in technology, newer features are added every now and then. Advertisements help in keeping us updated especially when some new idea is proposed in the market. For example, last month I read an article in a news paper mentioning the availability of portable dialysis machine with local venders. At the beginning, I doubted its benefit because I could not explain myself how a small machine can compete a traditional heavier dialyser, but later when I came across people using it, I realised that it was actually efficacious and that advertisement had its pros. Advertisements clearly help us by introducing to the stuff that is going to benefit us in a long run.
To summarise, advertisements play a vital role in selecting the items that suits our need as well as they keep us updated regarding the advancement in technologies thus saving us a lot of time and money.
