Research and treatment of diseases are highly expensive, so some people think that investing in areas of prevention would be more appropriate. In my opinion, disease prevention is paramount in providing a healthier and a happier society, research and treatment are vital as some diseases are not preventable.

One good reason why the authority should invest in preventive measures is because it is a sure way to a happier and a healthier society. There should be screening for early detection of certain diseases, as cancer, is very costly and can only be accessed by a few individuals. If funded by the government, almost everyone would benefit, enhancing equality and creating happier people. A healthier nation would emerge resulting in an increased number of individuals who are physically fit, a greater workforce.

An increased workforce means a boost in the economy, which is very important, especially for any country that wishes to be leading.
    <div>

On the other hand researching and treating a disease condition is vital as some conditions are not preventable. To illustrate, hypertension and diabetes mellitus are known to be familial, and therefore would need adequate attention in the area of cure. By so doing, much financial burden would be relieved from patients, increasing their life span and reducing mortality rates. Also, funding a research work is very essential.

In conclusion, while it is essential for the government to fund a disease control because of its role in ensuring a better nation, the importance of researching and treating diseases should not be neglected is because some ailments are not preventive, and through research, new and effective methods of managing a patient are generated.

Learning a new language can also be quite tedious and cumbersome. However, nowadays, the popularity of web-based online language learning apps has shot up, enabling people from various geographical zones, cultural and ethnic backgrounds to learn whenever and wherever they are in the world.

In my opinion, people who not only study on their own but also the classes and sessions should be online. Nowadays, almost anyone has got constant access to mobile phones, which has been immensely beneficial with respect to learning a new language. These applications are designed and coded with such precision that they have become a handy solution to language barriers as they help to track one’s progress. For example, apps like Duolingo, Grammarly, Ginger provide constant reminders and also analyse one’s progress through detailed graphs and charts. Traveling to such regions or countries where the language is spoken, even if it is not always affordable, helps to accurately comprehend the language.

On the other hand, with such applications on the market, the actual need to hire native language tutors or multilingual tutors has decreased drastically all over the world. Each and every one has got different needs and special requirements when it comes to learning. Many people prefer an audio-visual aid to writing and reading. Hence, such requirements can not be met in a class, where the attention of the teacher can be divided.

To conclude, it can be said that, despite the indisputable benefit of learning face to face from learned, experienced and erudite professionals, many people prefer the online method of learning a language. A new language may prompt people to provide critical communication, but learning varies from person to person and is entirely up to them.

The freedom to work and live a settled life in any nook and corner of the world is being accessed by numerous people as technology and development in communication science is increasing rapidly in contemporary society.

In my opinion, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in such a situation. Cultural and social intermixing occurs as a result of migration, allowing people all over the world to enrich their knowledge of the world’s cultures. It permits people to be more welcoming, empathetic and open-minded towards new customs and traditions as portrayed by immigrants. For example, settling with a family in a foreign country is deemed to be extremely beneficial by scientists as biracial and multiracial children are healthier and significantly contribute to the process of human evolution. Intercultural and interracial interaction along with international exposure also allows people to be more accepting

However, on the other hand, ‘brain-drain’ is a word commonly associated with leaving one’s country for work or educational purposes. This shortcoming of relocation of people has led to devastating outcomes, especially in the third world countries. The developing countries are hard hit when native citizens immigrate to different countries, running after alluring and tempting job offers. For instance, nowadays, most developed nations like the USA and the UK are becoming saturated with students and other employees seeking better opportunities and luxuries from all over the world.

To conclude, it can be overall resolved that movement and settlement of people in other countries is beneficial and, to some extent, also an absolute necessity to help in the progression of the human race.

June 7, 2021 at 8:39 PM in reply to: IELTS Essay Writing – 5 (Overpopulation)

The term overpopulation is used to describe a situation in which the world or area has a population so large that the people there are suffering as a result. In other words, the population exceeds the region or planet’s carrying capacity–the number of people, other living organisms, or crops that can be supported without environmental degradation.

Overpopulation is largely attributed to trends stemming from a spike in birth rates in the mid-20th century. Overpopulation of specific locations can also result from migration. The relationship between overpopulation and environmental impacts is often interrelated and complex. In my opinion, I agree that there are many factors adding to the degradation. As the global population increases, more food is needed. Such measures may be met through more intensive farming, or through deforestation to create new farm lands, which in turn can have negative outcomes. For example, surveys by the World Environment Council issue repeated warnings to curb overpopulation.

Also, while there is plenty of water on the planet, it is very much a scarce resource. Only 2.5 percent of water resources are fresh water, and just a small fraction of that is available as unpolluted drinking water. Human population growth and climate change have grown hand in hand as the use of fossil fuels has exploded to support industrialized societies. More people necessitates more demand for oil, coal, gas, and other energy sources extracted from below the Earth’s surface that spew carbon dioxide into the atmosphere when burned, trapping warm air inside like a greenhouse.

There are issues aplenty to overcome. Clearly,
initiatives to switch to clean energy sources such as solar, improve
agricultural practices, better manage water resources and fully embrace the
principles of the circular economy will help us mitigate the impact of
population growth. At the other end of the spectrum, policies that encourage
family planning, education, gender equity and other measures to help slow
population growth will help reduce pressure on the planet.

June 7, 2021 at 8:06 PM in reply to: IELTS Essay Writing – 4 (Crimes)

Crime prevention is the attempt to reduce and deter crime and criminals. Governments all over the world are making concerted efforts to reduce crime, effectively enforce the law, and accurately administer criminal justice. However, the increasing number of criminals is of utter dismay to many and, thus, there are many ongoing debates about the punishment to be received by criminals.

In my opinion, I personally believe that not only do prisons aggravate criminal minds but also lack any kind of assurance about the recurrence of the crime. Hence, longer sentences served in prisons do not always solve the problem. The solution to such delinquency would simply be to pinpoint a particular problem and then seek remedial courses for the same. For example, a study conducted by the NYU Psychology department concluded that it was necessary for prisoners to lead a healthy, mentally and financially stable life after being released from prison.

However, on the other hand, there lies a well-justified argument for criminals to serve a longer period of time in prisons. Nowadays, well established modern prisons can be found in every nook and corner of the world. Every felonious antisocial is subjected to strict vigilance and surveillance, and their behavior is monitored around the clock. For example, Urban Wire conducted a survey and released a detailed, analyzed report stating that longer prison sentences may result in a positive change in behaviour.

To conclude, it is quite difficult to predict what could lead to criminal behaviours and whether they could possibly be corrected in the near future by various psychological efforts and studies which are being conducted by criminologists in many parts of the world.

June 2, 2021 at 8:41 PM in reply to: IELTS Essay Writing – 6 (Wasting money on the arts)

Monetary decisions are quite important in a country and the power to decide upon them often vests in its government. That being said, some people think that the government is wasting money on the arts and this money could be better spent elsewhere.

In a representative democracy, the people are the foremost subject matter of the country. In every diverse country, opinions are bound to contrast. In my opinion, I disagree with the fact that investing in art is considered to be wasting money. Art history and culture help natives of a country to better comprehend the history and heritage of their own country and establish a link to their roots. For example, every year, about 2 million people visit the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa, which costs $10 million. Hence, tourism can also be promoted heavily with the help of art. Not only does art help in connecting people with their legacies and traditions, but also investing in art could further prove to be beneficial to the economy.

On the other hand, however, there lies a grave problem. Many practical people might think of art as a waste of time and money. Some could also conclude that art does not promote or increase monetary profit in any form, thus, is useless. For instance, in a BBC interview, Dan Rodriguez, a very successful businessman and economist had said that he believed that art is not important to society and has got nothing to give back.

To conclude, it can be inevitably said that the value of art can only be understood by the ones who have an eye for aesthetics. Art can either be valued or it could be perceived as a waste. Thus, such an issue still remains debatable.

The diagrams show a structure that is used to generate electricity from wave power.

In the event of a high tide, the excess air pressure enters the turbine. These turbines are affixed to a column. These waves are made to go inside the chamber and from there, massive columns of air rotate the turbine that produces electricity. The cliff or sea wall could also be denoted as helpful since they act as barricades and help the water to get inside the chamber.

However, the situation changes drastically in the case of a low tide. When the wave goes away after hitting the cliff or sea wall, the same amount of air pressure creates a suction inside the chamber that causes the turbine to rotate in the same direction, which helps to generate electricity.

This continuous process of waves striking the cliff and retreating contributes to the maintenance of air suction pressure, which rotates the turbine to generate electricity.

Nowadays, many companies are adopting the policies of recruiting human resources for his or her whole lifetime . I completely accept as true with this transformation thanks to these prime reasons. Firstly, employees won’t leak the corporate secrets to other firms. Secondly, organizations may save huge wealth for the training processes of latest workers. This essay intends to research both reasons for my belief in details with suitable examples.

First of all, working for whole life period for association automatically eliminate the risks of leaking out of the company secrets. For example, if an association replace their staff members every year then organizations investment plans, production procedures and confidential information may be leaked through ex-workers. As a result, firms may suffer from mammoth profit losses. Therefore, I believe that team member who will do the job for the entire life span could not leak out the corporation’s data even after retirement. A recent survey by “The Times of India” reveals that 40% of workers claimed that they have shared the enterprise confidential information to other firms for sake of huge money.

Furthermore, I opine that companies may save huge training cost of new employees. Due to the continual change of workers, firms need to invest excessive wealth within the raining of latest staff members in order that they might work with none error. Consequently, firms would have saved enough fund by maintaining existing trained workers. This rescued capital might be used in other development processes of the association. For instance, in 2019, “The Dell” a famous software enterprise claimed that they might save a million dollars of coaching cost by maintaining existing employees.

In conclusion, it is indeed true that many corporations are applying the policies of hiring job workers for their whole life period. Because not only employees will not leak out the company policies to other firms but also organizations may save huge investment in training operations of new workers.

May 27, 2021 at 8:46 PM in reply to: IELTS Essay Writing – 2 (Feeling of competition)

Competition among children is a very sensitive topic that must be handled precisely. Competitions in life could either be beneficial or be detrimental to a person. Whether or not to inculcate this habit of competitiveness in children remains a debatable issue.

In my opinion, children should be encouraged to become more competitive, so that it could help them navigate life better. Many aspects of life might cause a child to be burdened with pressure. However, such problems could be avoided with good parenting. Children must learn to comprehend that indolence should be overcome with competitiveness. For example, on the Ellen show, a young boy recalled that competitiveness helped him to conquer life. Thus, such a positive attitude could be portrayed through competitions.

However, there are also certain problems associated with competitiveness. Competitiveness and consciousness go hand in hand to explain that one becomes more competitive, one also becomes more aware of their surroundings and environment. Hence, psychologists have also witnessed several cases that recollected how hostile some children behave when they are faced with failure. For instance, Michigan College had conducted an experiment that concluded that sometimes children could be belligerent due to failure and unhealthy competitions are to blame. Such incidents throw light on the importance of healthy competitions.

To conclude, the need for instilling a healthy sense of competition is decipherable. Competitiveness is like a double-sided coin with which one must be quite careful. Hence, competitiveness should be embedded in children but not at the cost of moral values and virtues.
