Dear Sir/Mam,

I am writing to enquire about the upcoming shopping center by XYZ developer on main street. I came across this big billboard on the main red light while driving home from office.

I got excited that our area will have its 1^st shopping center. Currently, people have to visit shopping center which is 4 km from this place. Having a place to shop which is just walking distance will make residents life much easier. People can visit the center any time and any day which was not the case earlier as they had to plan according to their schedule due to distance.

While I understand the construction will start from next month, I would like to know if there are any plans for traffic diversion as this street gets very busy during office hours. Also, if you could advise would the center also have a theater and play zone for kids. Nearest theater is around 7km away and one doesn’t always travel that far. Having a theater nearby along with kids zone will surely attract more crowds.

Hi Dear,

Hope you are doing good. How is everyone in family? I have reached home safely and want to let you know that I had an amazing time and cannot thank you enough for this trip.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the trip especially the underwater diving which you booked on such short notice. I have never experienced something like this and the underwater life was truly mesmerizing. This trip has really added as a stress buster and rejuvenated me. I can now focus better in office.

However, just I got down from cab which I took from airport, I realized that my wallet was missing as I had to make payment to the cab driver. I panicked as it had few important documents as well. After thinking hard , I remembered that I kept it in the almirah in guest room and missed to pick it up while packing.

I would appreciate if you could courier it back to me as those documents are required on priority. Once you courier it please share the waybill number so that I can track the packet.

Once again I want to thank you for the trip. I think we should do this more often and may be next time in my city.

Outdoor activities are more beneficial for children’s development than playing computer games. While many would contend this, I strongly believe that outdoor activities provide conducive environment for the child mental and physical health.

Technology has taken over whole world let alone children. We are becoming dependent on technology since the advent of computers. Children these days are much more smarter and sharper when it comes to using any gadget or online application. They are getting lure towards virtual world. With this Pandemic, schools being shut classes are converted into online classes which requires them to spend more time online. While there is no doubt that it is helping them to complete their learning but simultaneously it has an adverse effect on their health. With the restriction of staying at home children are spending more time on TV, Phones, computers and playing games.

Playing games on computer increases the chances of weakening eyesight and fatigue and children become complacent towards their health. Many computer games like Pub G and temple run becomes an addiction and children do not want to waste a single minute off these games. Parents must be very meticulous while allowing their children to use internet. It should have restricted access or password. They should give strict timeline to them for playing online games.

Outdoor activities help building confidence. A child will learn new sports and will get to interact with children of different ethnicity. Many games teach how to work as a group, sportsmanship, they also learn the concept of sharing which is very important if he/she is a single child. It also helps them realizing excess energy. Any outdoor sports are a good physical exercise which helps in physical, mental development of a child.

To summarize, outdoor activities are undoubtedly a winner. Hence, it is very imperative to develop the habit of it as it helps in overall development of children.

Advertising encourages consumers to buy things that they really do not need. To understand this better one need to contemplate the consumers mind.

Companies have been using ads as a method to promote their products for many years. Earlier it was limited to newspapers and pamphlets but with the invention of TV, Radio and internet it has reached to general masses and people of all kind of income groups. During 1980’s , purchasing was limited to TV and cars and were considered as a luxury item in a household, however, with the increase of standard of living of people, these items are no longer a luxury but has become a necessity. The competition to stay ahead and having good lifestyle with one another is another reason along with the peer pressure to procure products even if it is off limits for a person.

Advertisers entice consumers by fancy packaging, heavy discounts during festivals and by featuring celebrities in their advertisements to highlight only the good features or to make a product look attractive for which they spend huge amount of money. Sometimes, these ads turn out contentious and receive backlash from the masses which creates negative publicity for them. In advertising any publicity is considered as good publicity.

On the contrary, ads are also source of creating awareness among people. For eg. during pandemic, government has initiated many ads on TV, Caller tunes on phone to create awareness about using masks and sanitizing hands.

To summarize, i cannot deny to the fact that ads have both negative and positive sides attached to it. Consumer should be cautious while spending their money and should focus only what they need. They should buy products depending upon their purchasing power and not just for the sake for staying ahead in game.

Overpopulation

Overpopulation is the greatest threat to the future of our planet. It is growing at an enormously fast rate. While there are many countries who are trying to educate their people about this issue, but it seems it is not enough, and strong measures are required to control it.

There is a substantial increase every year in population specially south east Asian countries. There are many factors behind it and to name a few; poverty and illiteracy are few of them. Farmers and poor people believe that many working hands will lead to more income. Not to forget the desire to have a male child to secure their old age is another reason. Females are forced to conceive even if they have 2-3 girl child.

Overpopulation is having serious effects on our resources. Forests are being cut, agricultural lands are being converted into residential places to accommodate the need of more houses. Many areas are affected by floods and draught. There has been an increase in demand of jobs, but vacancies are limited. Many developing countries are already living this future and the effects of overpopulation.

Education plays a vital role. Government should place educational camps in villages for awareness. There should be some policies which can exempt couples from some tax if they have 1 or 2 child and should withdraw facilities from those who have more than 2 children. Like China, has implemented policy to not to give any benefits to those who have more than 2 kids.

I totally acknowledge that attention on overpopulation is the need of the hour. More awareness and strict policies are the key to control this situation before it’s too late.
