  • From past few decades, modernization has impacted our society in a lot different ways, from radios to Televisions, from paperback and hard cover books to e-books, from waiting for newspaper every morning to receiving latest news every minute via application in cell phones, everything is changing rapidly. I totally agree that that new technology would completely take over ancient technology in future.

To begin with, modern advancement has given more liberty to people to do anything, anywhere, anytime and as a result people have become impatient. For example, if anything is happening in the world, they want to see it happening live or they want the update every minute for the same. As a result, people rely less on newspapers. Also, some people believe that newspapers are not eco-friendly as it is just a wastage of paper.

Further, in today’s world, people are really short on time. Technology has made the world so small and fast that people don’t want to waste a single minute because every minute is precious, even for me as I am working in an Multi National Company and usually don’t have much time to spare for daily updates and for that purpose, I have a mobile application named ‘Inshorts’ installed in my phone which provides me with updates every minute in just 60 words. In this scenario, who would like to read the whole news when you can get the summary in just 60 words?

In a nutshell, people are getting addicted to technology, and it would become difficult for present as well as the future generations to stick to traditional ways of getting updates, be it newspapers or magazines, no doubt they give a different sense of satisfaction and pleasure when we read it but who on earth will have that much time to feel it!

The world is becoming small. Over the past few decades, social media has connected people all around the globe and especially brought us near to our loved ones that live across the seas, however, it also made us far from people that stay nearby. Surely, the usage of various social media applications like Facebook, WhatsApp etc. have proved of much more advantages that anyone could ever thought off and has certainly outlooked its disadvantages.

Covid Times were tough for all the people worldwide and due to sudden and unexpected lockdowns a lot of us got stuck in places that were really far away from our homes. In that situation, when we were unable to step out, that was when social media came in picture and it really helped us a lot to stay connected to our dear ones through video calls. People made motivational videos and put it on social media which really supported us in tough times and also made us believe that we are all together in these crises.

However, social media reduced face-to-face interactions among people in society. Nowadays, as the usage of the social media apps are evolving and people are finding it very easy to use. It acts like a catalyst as they just stay in their comfort zone and interact with people whenever they want to. I reckon, my regular yoga classes were shifted to online yoga class due to covid and the people whom I used to meet and interact on daily basis also reduced.

In a nutshell, it is sure shot that usage of social media has changed our lives a lot and has replaced our physical interactions with online interactions, however it has way more advantages as it really helped us all in covid times and it is really feasible to use which outweighs its disadvantages.

  • Colours are the only thing on this planet that we cannot hear or explain, however they affect the way we feel, so said by the psychologists. I truly believe that while decorating place like offices and hospitals, colour schemes should especially be taken care off as it can directly or indirectly impact people.

When a person enters a hospital, it feels very depressing, not only because of the environment but also due to the dull colours’ hospitals are usually painted in. Undoubtedly, light colours feel calm, but it can still lead to loss in energy and at the end people tend to feel sicker even more that they are. I reckon, when I was 14, I got admitted into a hospital and the walls of my room were painted in light-blue colour and it made such an impact that even today when I come across that colour, the whole scenario crosses my mind.

Going forward, when we are visiting a place daily, for example our workplace, it should be made in such a way that the thought of going to office comes from our heart. The first company I got placed in was Wipro and when I saw the logo of the company on my offer letter it was so beautifully designed with all the seven major colours and it felt that this is company will definitely add colours to my life. Also, its office was decorated with such beautiful colour schemes that I didn’t want to go back home on my first day of work.

To conclude, even if we don’t realise, colours can really have a deep impact on us. Kids play-ways are always designed with bright and rich colours and are always considered as happy place. In the same way, if we pay attention to colour combinations while constructing offices and hospitals, it can surely have a positive impact on people visiting there.

October 12, 2021 at 9:51 PM in reply to: IELTS Essay Writing: Big Salary

In today’s materialist world, everyone is crazy about making money. People think the more money they make, the more comfortable life they would live because they believe in the fact that money can buy happiness, however, I completely disagree to this.

I strongly believe that if people are not satisfied with their job, it would affect their mental peace. I had a similar situation when I was in my first job. I didn’t get the job role that I desired for, but my company was paying me a handsome salary. I joined the company but after 1-2 months it started feeling like a trap as if I was in a rat race. It ruined my mental health. Then, I understood that money cannot buy you peace and I quit the job.

Also, people running after big salary packages end up facing major health issues. With bigger salary packages, come bigger responsibilities and with that scenario nowadays the working professionals get blood pressure related problems in their mid-30’s. They don’t realize what are they paying for the salary they are getting. People forget about their passions and aspirations; all they care about is money.

To conclude, I agree that money can solve a lot of problems in life, but it cannot buy you satisfaction. If someone is satisfied with their job, it is the biggest earning. If people are unwilling doing a job, just for the sake of big salary, they can end up facing various health issues at a very tender age.

  • In today’s modern era where men and women are considered equals, there are some stereotypes that strongly believe that men are more competitive than woman, however I strongly disagree to this.

Earlier, women were never given a chance to showcase their capabilities. This happened mostly because women were uneducated and were dependent on men for everything. Nowadays, women are getting educated and even in the field of education, during competitive exams women are scoring as good as men, in-fact women are scoring more and get better ranks in medical entrance exams than men.

Apart from this, in traditional times women used to take care of household so they never got a chance to showcase their leadership skills, however, things are changing with time. Now, women are standing in elections, as a result woman are wining with a greater number of votes, and they possess a major portion in forming the government.

In addition to this, women don’t feel their competition on earth is only with men but with other women as well. If a woman is attending a party, she will dress up thinking that she should look the prettiest among all the guests. Even during the party, women keep comparing their jewellery and makeup with other women present there and feel great if they look more beautiful than their competent.

To conclude, Competition is not gender biased. Some people have competition in their blood, and it all depends on the nature of the person. The number of women winning might be less in some cases but that is mostly due to the household work and lack of opportunities.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter with regard to my lost airpods that I lost on my recent trip to Dubai, which was insured by your company.

I bought my airpods last year in December from Imagine store, Sector-17, Chandigarh. My airpods were white in colour and could be connected easily with Bluetooth. airpods were in the airpods – case. My cover case was a minion case cover, coloured yellow and blue. It also had my name engraved on the body of the airpods case.

The time I last saw it was when I was having dinner with my family at ‘The Marine’, near Burj Khalifa. Afterwards we took a cab to the airport. After boarding the flight, I realized that my airpods are missing and I started searching of it. But unfortunately, I was unable to find them. I might have mistakenly left it at The Marine.

I would be very grateful if you would reimburse my amount for the airpods. If there is anything required from my end please let me know.

Looking forward to an early response on this.

    Yours faithfully,

Expansion is happening at a really fast pace and to run along with the world, if we find all our daily necessities under one roof; it feels very convenient. However, some people believe that it can mar the local communities. I partially agree to this and would be expressing my views on both points.
Nowadays, if we look to buy a new house, the very first thing that we look for is the locality. We check that from where we are going to buy daily house-hold stuff. That’s when the supermarkets come in picture. I am living in Delhi away from my family and my work shift timings are from 12 noon to 9:30 p.m. Because of this schedule, I don’t get time to buy daily necessities and at that time Supermarkets are quite beneficial because everything is available under one roof, moreover it feels safe to buy stuff from there even at late nights.
One the other hand, local businesses are short on budget so they stock up only those items which are frequently bought from the store, therefore they are short on variety. People of today’s generation need to stuff every day to explore and some people have made a business out of this. Nowadays people follow new trends and they need everything which is advertised on the social media.
To conclude, some people are earning their daily bread from the local businesses and they are really getting affected by supermarkets. We can play a small part from our end by buying things from them, this would affect our comfort zone but that’s a little part we can do.

September 13, 2021 at 9:27 PM in reply to: IELTS Essay Writing – International Sports Events

International events are something for which we all are excited about and these events play a vital role to bolster the international image of the country, however some citizens demur at the idea of hosting such occasions. In my opinion it is very significant to organize global sport events.

Organizing International gaming events gives a very patriotic feeling to all the citizens of the country as people feel that this is our country’s chance to showcase how beautiful, well developed and welcoming their country is. For example, In India people believe that Guests are equal to God. This gives the citizens of the country a way to publicize the traditions their country.

On the other side, organizing such event entails a lot of planning and preparation. A lot of money is involved; as these events are very costly .The country that plans the event has to take care about everything like organizing the sports areas and providing facilities to the participants from different countries as well. Hosting country need to ensure that everything is done perfectly because it can make or mar the reputation of the country.

In my conclusion, international sports events should happen more occasionally in all the countries. No doubts, there is are a lot of expenses involved in organizing such events but at the end of day, the country hosting the event feels proud that they did everything very well and were a great host to all the countries because that’s something people are not doing only for themselves but for the country.
