There is no point to deny the truth that, it is really important to teach survival skills like cooking, giving first aid, basic self-defense etc., to teenagers, irrespective of their gender, caste, creed, religion, race and other things. Because, these are the basic things to survive in this contemporary world.

Firstly, if we look at our past generations, we can find that our ancestors may be less technologically advanced, but, they used to know the basic survival skills like cooking, giving first aid, basic self-defense etc. For example, cooking is the utmost important thing that each and every individual should learn at some point of time, because, to survive we need food and the food is prepared through any cooking process. As a result, our predecessors are used to intake hygienic food and they don’t use to get sick quite often. This is reason, that there life expectancy, in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, was on the higher side.

Secondly, I strongly agree that giving first aid and getting accustomed with the basic self-defensing techniques, goes side-by-side. For example, if we look at the most disciplined individuals of our society, i.e., the army personnel, they are imbibed with both these aforementioned skills and they are selfless. Due to which, they do not have to depend on anyone to accomplish anything, irrespective of any kind of situations.

Therefore, to conclude, I firmly believe that it is really important to teach survival skills like cooking, giving first aid, basic self-defense etc., to teenagers, irrespective of their gender, caste, creed, religion, race and other things.

    Dear Tutor,

I have come to Brighton College from Singapore, where I was a student for ten years. I have already taken the examinations in Singapore in English, Biology, Computer and Maths. My highest score was for Computer: I got grade A.

When I was a student in Singapore I also had a part-time job in a shop. My uncle owns a supermarket and so, I helped him in the evenings. I used to work there for four nights a week and I think that this was a very good experience for me.

At the weekends, I usually played volleyball with friends or, if the weather was bad, we went to the theatre, which is very popular in Singapore. Because of my part-time job, I also spent a lot of time studying at the weekend.

I haven’t went to many other places. My father took me to Thailand once. Three weeks after we returned he also went to Malaysia and took the whole family.

This is a brief description of my background.

    Best wishes,
    Marina

It is often found that some people say that Ebooks and modern technologies will totally replace the traditional newspapers and magazines. Being present in the twenty-first-century we cannot deny the aforementioned fact. Wherefore, I completely agree that in the near future the Ebooks and advanced technologies are going to replace the magazines and newspapers.

Firstly, since past thirty to forty years there has been a paradigm shift in the standard of living among the present generations when compared to the older generations that belongs to the 19th century. For example, the modern youths are much more tech-savvy and are often found using the contemporary gadgets like smart phones and tablets which are being loaded with the contemporary applications.

Thus, during travelling or while staying outside, everyone can easily go through any kind of an electronic version of a printed book that they want to read on their mobile phones, which in turn is saving their precious time and is making one’s life much simpler and easy.

Secondly, I would also like to emphasize a point that during the pandemic when the entire world was on the back foot, it was only the modern technologies that has helped us to achieve our daily activities with an ease. For example, through the latest smart phones we can easily pay our monthly utility bills via different payment applications, like ‘PhonePe’, ‘Google Pay’, ‘Cred’, and many more, which are absolutely contactless, safe, secure and fast. Thereby, it is not only saving our valuable time but, it is also reducing the use of paper, which in turn is safeguarding the environment by protecting the trees.

    Therefore, to
conclude, I strongly agree with the fact that in near future the modern gadgets
with the cutting edge technologies and the Ebooks will replace the traditional
    newspapers and magazines.

    To,

    Mr. Joshep

    10, Hungerford Street.

    East Australia.

    Pin Code: SW1A 2AA

    Subject: Scarcity of hot water

    Dear Mr. Joshep,

This is to bring to your notice, that from the past couple of weeks the hot water facility is not available in our flat as the geysers available in both the washrooms are not functioning properly. I am writing this letter with extreme grievance that despite of several reminders, till today, i.e., 14th July 2021, the problem hasn’t been resolved.

As you may be aware of the fact that ‘Brington school of English Language’ conducts the second semester examination in the month of August, thus for us it is not even a month’s time that is left to get prepared for the examination.

Moreover in Australia, July is the coldest month and the winter season continues till the month of August. Hence, as the examination is knocking at the door, it is very much important to keep ourselves away from getting cold and staying fit.

Therefore to recapitulate, I would request you to please resolve the hot water related issues at the earliest and I look forward to your input on this.

    Thanking you in anticipation.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mayukh Ghosh

It is often argued that juveniles should be tried and treated as adults. In this contemporary world there are many criminal activities that were committed not only by the adults, but also by the youngsters. Today in this essay we will discuss about the pros and cons of whether juveniles should be tried and treated as adults.

Now a days, we can frequently hear that many teenagers are now getting involved in criminal activities. For example, in the disputed region of India, i.e., Kashmir, which is governed by both Pakistan and India, a rising number of young locals have joined militancy. As they are young, they lack maturity and they easily get motivated by some negative peer pressure, which in turn forges them to end up with any kind of illegal activities, like murder, rape, suicide attack, and many more. Thus, in order to make the juveniles think twice before committing such perilous activities, they should be treated as adults, as such activities are costing many lives.

Moreover, many people think that youths those who are involved in any kind of illegal activities shouldn’t be treated as adults as they are immature enough and gets easily motivated to commit any criminal activities. For example, there are numerous studies which states that the criminal activities haven’t decreased with the juveniles when they were sent to any rehabilitation center, rather it is found that as they are young, after a certain period of time they fail to hold themselves and they often ends up doing such nightmarish activities. Hence, despite of sending them to any rehabilitation center, which will make them more positive from inside to outside, the law should be same for anyone who executes any unlawful activities.

Therefore to recapitulate, juveniles should be tried and treated as
    adults.

It is been a hot debate that women are better at childcare than men therefore, they should focus more on raising children and less on their working life. However, I completely disagree with the above statement. Here, in this essay I will be sharing my views regarding the disagreements, with regard to the topic.

Firstly, both men and women have some specific in-build qualities, the amalgamation of which is very much required for any children’s upbringing and education. For example, women are multi taskers as they are having the quality to run and hold a family by managing different aspects of life, which includes, taking care of the grandparents and in-laws; childcare activities; cooking; marketing; and many more. Whereas, men are responsible to gather the fuel to run the family show by working hard. Thus, children’s gets to learn the qualities and responsibilities from both the parents and it is not restricted to only the Mothers. Moreover, nowadays many men have decided to stay at home to raise children while the woman in the family goes to work.

Secondly, in past 40 to 50 years there has been a massive paradigm shift for women in the workplace. Now a days many women are often seen holding senior positions in many organizations which includes both private and government bodies. For example, the current Finance Minister of India is Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, who is mainly responsible for the fiscal policy of the government of India.

As, I am blessed to be a proud father of a daughter, in my opinion, women should continue to focus on their careers rather than restricting themselves to only childcare activities and at the same time they should also ensure that their daughters are aware of all the opportunities which are available to them in life.

It is often found that many nations harp on early child education, i.e., children should start schooling from an age of four. Vis-a-vis, some countries in the world allows to start education when a child reaches seven or eight years of age. In my opinion, starting school early is better for the overall development of the child.

Yes, it is correct to some extent that starting any child’s schooling at an age of seven or eight helps them to score good marks compared to those who are just four, and it also allows them to spend more childhood time with their parents. However, this practice doesn’t always benefit their overall development.

Firstly, contemporary researches & investigations has found that the investment in early education improves not only cognitive skills or abilities, but also critical behavioural quality like sociability, motivation and self-esteem. Apart from this, researchers has also shared that children are more likely to learn more at school than they are at home, so starting earlier allows them more opportunities to learn, particularly when it comes to reading, writing, and solving mathematics. For this reason we can often see that now a days more and more play schools and pre-schools are coming up with nurturing environment for the kids, which helps them to learn in more innovative and unique ways. Few names of such schools are Kidzee & Little Laureates.

Secondly, if a kid starts early schooling then they will be able to finish earlier, hence they could get more time to gain experiences in their field of work, from whatever they have learnt.

Therefore, to conclude the concept of starting school education in early years is highly beneficial for any child because it boosts his or her personal as well as intellectual growth.

In this contemporary world it is often observed that young people in our society suffer more stress than in the previous generations, as they live in the world of technology and advancement. In this essay, the different opinions regarding the issue of teenagers stress will be discussed.

Firstly, teenagers are now exposed to additional products that technologically more advanced than the earlier generations due to the globalization. For Example, now-a-days no-one purchases a phone which isn’t SMART enough to have enough features to get the control of all the essential things through a single device. Thus, anyone can do anything, like, watching movies, listening music, attending online classes, purchasing any item through online, money transactions, official work, book car services, and many more. On the contrary, these things are making any youngsters lazier in terms of doing hard work, which results in the failure to complete any kind of homework that requires physical and mental strength, which ultimately lead to stress.

Secondly, in my opinion, teenagers have to face several issues and situations that were less or not present at all in the past. For example, a crucial role is played by media and social networking sites. In other words, during present days teenagers are being influenced by their friends and other people and they constantly try to keep up with the latest trend in order not to be judged by other individuals. In my opinion, being always criticized by other people and being always in competition with the others can lead to severe mental stress.

Thus, to conclude, I personally agree with the statement that today’s teenagers have more stressful lives than previous generations, because nowadays teenagers are often seen fighting against critics, judgments and unwanted comments that can upset them.

In this contemporary world it is often argued that advertisement encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. However, I completely disagree with this opinion and think that advertisement provides useful information about newer products which in-turn helps us to purchase a new product.

First of all, I admit that through advertisements we come to know about the cutting corner technologies, features and benefits of any category of products that we are looking for, even if some people says that ads often encourage to purchase unnecessary products. To give an instance, I came to know about National Institute Of language (NIL) and its benefits only through advertisement while I was watching an online video on YouTube which truly enticed me to take a decision. That’s why it is more important to view on the positive aspects of an advertisement.

Secondly, advertisements helps us to know different products that are available in the market, in same category but from a separate manufacturer. Yes, it’s about competition products..!! In other words, it provides a wide range of knowledge about different technical features and benefits provided by any non-identical organization. Thereby, advertisements makes us curious to know the latest things and opens the door to the world to take our decision according to our needs.

Thus, to conclude, in this current twenty first century is very important to grab the benefits that we can procure through the latest advertisements and we should also let others to get accustomed with this useful tool. Hence, I acknowledge that advertisements tell us about newer products that improves our lives.
