Blood sports have become a part of different cultures but these are showcased in an uncivilised way.People do this for their greed and entertainment purposes. To satisfy themselves, they harm animals during the sports. I strongly believe that these activities should be banned completely. This essay will highlight the points to justify my viewpoint.

Firstly, from the past generations, blood sports have become a symbol of their traditions. For instance, in the southern part of India, Jallikattu, a traditional bull fighting sport, occurs during Pongal celebration. During this sport, bulls are seriously injured and even people who are involved, they also get injured. Secondly, for these taming activities, animals are put in captivity in barren conditions. These cages harm animals physically as well as mentally. As during Jallikattu, bulls are caged one week before the celebration happens. Bulls get mentally harmed in the cages.

In the modern world, these traditional blood sports are becoming a mode of profit earning. For example, people fix matches and earn a lot of money from these activities. During the cock fighting in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, people fix the game in advance and after the completion of game, the winner earn more money. People have seen these games as a symbol of pride and to prove their satisfaction, they injure animals and even killed the unfit animals.

To conclude, these so called traditional sports should be banned because they are not only harm animals but also put our society in the clutches of moneymakers. Government should take serious steps to protect the animals. For instance, government has banned the cockfighting in southern part of India but still common in rural areas. For this government should make people aware about the importance of animals and to take steps to stop these underground activities.

March 1, 2022 at 5:50 PM in reply to: Task 2 ( discuss both the views) : University or Job

It is considered by some that university education is vital for a prosperous career as it leads expertise as well as professionalism while there are others who think that getting a job just after schooling is a good option as it makes one independent. I strongly believe that higher academic education is crucial for a well paid occupation and it also helps in overall development of a person as he gains vast knowledge and various intellectual skills.

Firstly, university provides platform to students to socialise with others and gets deep knowledge related to the subjects. For example, many cultural events are organised in which students participate. These events help them in building confidence as well as developing social and intellectual skills. Secondly, university acts a ladder by providing expert materials and advice which make them well experienced in the subject. This also helps them in getting a well paid job in future. For example, some private organisations and even government agencies ask candidates for a higher degree if they want to apply for a job . To apply for UPSC exam, one must possess a graduation degree.

On the other hand, to do a job , one may not need a higher education but he should be well experienced in the particular field. Job just after schooling helps one in mang ways. It makes one independent to understand the requirements of life and make him financially strong. He doesn’t have to depend on their parents for daily needs. For instance, my brother is doing job just after schooling, he doesn’t need to ask for money from my parents but as i am studying in college, i have to ask them for money. Secondly, it teaches practical life lessons that is how to face financial challenges as well as how to manage budget. For example, one of my school friends joined his family’s grocery shop and that time the shop was bit small. With his hardwork and talent, his took the shop at the greatest zenith and now the shop is converted into a large store. So, this shows that one needs talent and hardwork, not a higher degree to become a successful person.

To conclude, both views have their positive points but in my opinion, higher education is must not only for a well established career but also for getting social and intellectual skills which are important for life lessons.

February 25, 2022 at 6:12 PM in reply to: Task 2 (Problem/solution essay) : Traffic congestion

Traffic congestion has become an alarming issue in the metropolitan cities. This essay first describes the main causes of traffic congestion like increasing use of private vehicles as well as poor infrastructure and then provides the vital solutions to overcome the problems like building better roadways, flyovers and also encourage citizens to use public transport.

As population is increasing day by day, so more demand for automobiles and more private vehicles on roads. People prefer to use their own vehicles to travel around the cities instead of using public transportation because public transport is overcrowded and not well maintained. For instance, in bus depot of Azadpur an urban area in Delhi where there is no proper timing of buses and bus services are also less, so citizens have to wait for hours to reach at their destination. Secondly, there is no well organised roads and roads are often in bad condition. For example, karala, a place in Delhi, where one can find potholes on the road surface. Due to which traffic jam lasts for 4-5 hours. During monsoon season, the situation becomes worsening. Poor infrastructure is the foremost cause for traffic clogging not only in Delhi but in all metropolitan cities.

On the other hand, proper solutions for these causes would be to construct better roads, flyovers and highways in a well planned manner to avoid traffic jam. During construction process, best quality material should be used so that infrastructure will last long. Secondly, government should encourage citizens to use public transport and also conduct awareness campaigns to make public responsible towards public transport. The government should provide necessary amenities as well as bus services should be more so that people don’t have to wait for longer. For example, Delhi government has started a scheme in which travelling is free for women in buses. The scheme has increased the use of public transport. Such types of schemes should be started by the government so that people will start using public transport instead of private vehicles.

To conclude, government as well as citizens should be more responsible. Government should be the main facilitator in providing amenities. Government should take proper measures to encourage citizens to use public transport and in avoiding traffic congestion.

The table depicts information about the world population in billions but percentage wise for regions in the years 1950 and 2000 and also shows an estimated population for 2050.

Overall, it can be seen clearly that world population has followed a upward trend for the last 50 years and will adopt the same trend of increment in the next fifty years. Asia region has remained the most densely populated area while Oceania region, the least populated area.

Africa remained the only region which saw a continuous improvement of 9% in 1950 and 13% in 2000 and will go up till 20% in 2050. More than half of the world population resided in Asia i.e,56% in 1950 and remained the largest contributor for the year 2000 at 60% but will see a decline of just 1% in 2050. Europe and North America both followed a declining pattern throughout the periods. Europe showed a steady decline of 10% in 2000 from 22% to12% and in 2050, will decrease by 5% from 12% to 7%. North America’s population went down by 2% from 7%to 5% in 2000 and will go down by 1% from 5% to 4%in 2050.

Latin America showed an increase of 3% from 6% to 9% in past 50 years but will remain same at 9% for the next 50 years. Oceania remained constant and will remain same at 1% for all the years.

February 22, 2022 at 6:00 PM in reply to: Task 2 : GM foods (agree/disagree)

With the passage of time, population is increasing at a tremendous rate so more mouth to feed. Agriculturists ans scientists come with the notion of alteration of crops that is Genetically Modified Foods to feed the population. I totally disagree with the idea of genetically engineered foods as it not only causes health problems but also affects the environment.

Firstly, Genetically Modified Foods refer to alter the genes of species. These genetically engineered crops have negative impact on the environment as there is no natural change in the crops but crops are artificially altered by using the technology. By modifying the crops, scientists and agriculturists make some species resistant to diseases and insects. In fact, some species become stronger enough that they start dominating the local ecosystem. This modification brings more threats to ecosystem and makes the ecosystem unbalanced. To instance, in some countries, it has been observed that some species has become extinct from their local environment due to this modification. On the other hand, these GM foods also increase the toxins in the soil. These toxins prevent the growth of bacteria which are useful for soil texturing and growth of the plants. Sometimes these crops also become the facilitator for causing soil erosion and run off.

Secondly, agriculturists come with this idea of genetically modification because this process helps in increasing the production and lifespan of foods. But this modification results in less nutrients. As nutritional value of foods is less which adversely affects the human health. Doctors also point out that these crops also cause allergic reactions to human body. When human intakes these foods, the immune system responses as these genes carry some allergens that cause allergy to human body. According to them, these genetically engineered crops also cause cancer as these modified genes cause breakdown of cancerous cells at a high rate.

To conclude, with the intention to increase production, agriculturists bring more threats to environment as well as to humans. These GM crops have more negatives than positives. So, these crops are not a viable solution to feed the large population.

February 16, 2022 at 10:01 AM in reply to: Academic Task-1 ( pie chart)

The two pie charts illustrate how much households spend their money on necessary goods in China, percentage wise in the years 1995 and 2011.

Overall, in the year 1995, food was the significant sector where households spent the highest share of their earnings. The least spending was made on medicine as well as on household goods. In 2011, people started spending a little more on household goods and medicine but started cutting their expenditure on food and on clothing.

Spending on medicine accounted for 4% of the budget of households in 1995 but increased to 11% in 2011. Some how, there was a slight growth of 3% on household goods from 9% to 11% during the period of 15 years.

Further, food remained the highest sector in terms of spending but it went down from 68% to 59% , about a 9% difference in the spending . People also cut their spending on clothing but a little less i.e, from 19% to 18% , just a 1% cut .

February 14, 2022 at 1:36 PM in reply to: Essay advantages and disadvantages ( Uniform)

Customers are more inclined to do business with employees who wear the companies’ uniform. This essay will provide the advantages and disadvantages of uniform, the staff has to wear and at the end, it wii provide a logical conclusion.

There are many advantages of uniform. Firstly, if workers wear the same uniform, they feel that they are the members of team and it will create the positive attitude towards the company and same way, it will generate the feeling of cooperation, coordination and team spirit. On the other hand, uniform provides recognition to particular brand by promoting it. For example, uniform promotes the brand name and make the company widely known amongst the general public.

Secondly, safety is the foremost concern of all the organisations. In the fireworks department, mechanical and electrical departments, organisations provide uniform safety kits which include helmets, shield dress etc. which not only help the workers to do work safely but also helps the company in avoiding damage on the infrastructure as well as saving the expenses. On the other hand, it helps the employees to save time as wearing the same uniform on daily basis prevents employees from thinking what they have to wear today and the next day.

Moreover, uniform creates an environment of hardwork , on the other hand, uniform becomes an obstacle in the growth of the company as well as the employees. The disadvantages of uniform are such as-

Firstly, it prevents uniqueness of the employees. For example, employees at the workplace want to look differently on daily basis but because of the same uniform, they can’t wear the branded clothes. On the other hand, it becomes monotonous for the employees to wear the same uniform. For example- by seeing everyone is wearing the same uniform, the workplace looks dull and drab. Employees fell lethargic as they can not wear the dress of their choice.

Additionally, the uniform provided by the company becomes the cause of discomfort as the uniform may not suit the comfort level of the employees.

Thirdly, the uniform puts an additional cost on the company balance sheet as it has increased the operational cost.

In conclusion, uniform creates positive as well as negative attitudes towards the company. While on one hand, it creates teamwork, equality , on the other hand, it doesn’t suit need and comfort of the employees.

February 10, 2022 at 2:02 PM in reply to: Task 2 (Opinion Based) : community service

In today’s era of well standard of living, unpaid community service is as important as paid service. Volunteer work is an act of socialising. So I am agreed with the notion that at the high school level, unpaid community service should be made as a compulsory education.

In the view of the notion, volunteer work or service inculcates the values of togetherness, coordination, cooperation as well as make him/her a responsible citizen towards the society and the country. Moreover, it helps in overall development of the children. For example, during the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, people came together to make the country garbage free. This shows that a responsible citizen has to do a service that may be unpaid.

As children start doing volunteer work with any NGO, they will be able to get a better job in future. As during their work with the NGOs, a certificate of experience will be provided by the NGOs. For example, my sister was doing work with the SPARSH NGO. The NGO is working in field of the differently abled children. After completion of one year duration, she got the certificate and she attached her certificate in one of the resume and finally she is a government special educator in a school.

Conclusively, unpaid community service helps in the development of a healthy society as well a overall development of children as the volunteer service inculcates a responsible behaviour in them.

February 8, 2022 at 9:59 AM in reply to: Task 1 (Academic): MAP

The map illustrates how the village of Ryemouth has changed during the period of twenty- seven years.

Overall, the village saw the changes from all the directions. The new buildings are constructed as well as the old scenery are cleared off like the farmland and the forest parks.

In the year 1995 , in the north there is farmland and housing facilities and in the south direction there are fish markets , shops , cafe etc. At present, the farmland has removed and the forest parks are eliminated to make golf and tennis courts. On the opposite side that is south, restaurants as well as some apartments are added.

At present, fishery markets are removed but cafe has remained the same during the period from 1995-2022. Some new facilities like car parking is added along the hotels.
