    Dear Mr David,

I am writing this letter to seek your permission for a leave of one month starting from 2nd of November.

My younger brother is getting married on the 30th of November, and being the elder sister I have to make all the necessary arrangements for the marriage functions. Along with office work, I won’t be possible to give my full attention to the arrangements. Furthermore, from the mid of November all the pre-marriage functions would start and I will be completely occupied in them at that time, so I am applying for the full month leave so as to devote my time at one place.

I understand that my work would hamper and we have the project deadlines in December. I have made the plans accordingly and asked my project mates to share the daily work progress with me on email and by the end of the day I will have a look over it and provide my feedback accordingly.

I have also prepared knowledge transfer sessions with my colleague, Olive, who will take over my work responsibilities during my absence. Since, we both are equally involved in the same work, she completely understand my roles and responsibilities and will not let the office work suffer.

Please be assured of my commitment to the project and I will make up for all the work in my absence.

    Yours Sincerely

    Shweta

Education has proven to be the most significant medium to prepare children for the future. Although studying subjects such as computers, information technology can prove to be of immense benefit, extra curricular activities like art and music shapes the mind of a child from a very young age to tackle future problems in a more practical manner. I believe, art and music should be given equal importance as part of the school curriculum, along with other subjects.

It has been seen that since the ancient time, art and music has played very crucial role in the history, depicting the creativeness, and soulfulness of people during that era. In the similar manner, in today’s world, many artists are highly appreciated and respected in their respective field of art and music. Making children familiar to such practical subjects not only creates a strong bond with the community, but also sharpens the young mind so that they can think in a more creative and artistic manner while solving a problem. A professor in North Korea, conducted a case study between two groups in a primary class. One group was taught art and music along with other subjects, whereas the other group only learnt about the theoretical subjects. After the exams, it was seen that the group that practiced art and music scored better than the other group. Therefore, keeping a child’s mind occupied with art and music not only provides relaxation but also stimulates better understanding of other things. Additionally, it has been seen that many people have attained huge success in the music and art field, thus, it can be considered as one of the career option as well, if a child is doing well in it rather than other traditional subjects.

On the other hand, since everything is now digitalised and working on data management and statistics is the need of the hour, schools ought to include subjects such as information technology as they provides numerous career options for. child. However, working with information and data is a highly intensive and tiring task, keeping oneself indulge in some sort of distractions helps in the relaxation of the mind and this is where art and music comes into picture, as they help in the best possible ways to learn concentration. Although, information technology subject cannot be disagreed to be a useful subject, schools must not ignore the benefits music and art brings in a child life.

To sum up, schools must not remove music and art from the curriculum and give equal weightage to them as to other subjects. Apart from providing mind and health benefits such as relaxation and concentration, music and art are proven to be life altering career options.

    Dear Sir

I am writing this letter to inform regarding the issue I am facing with the table lamp, I bought from your shop last week.

After working fine for two days, the lamp stopped working. I read the instructions manual and attempted to give it a fix myself, and it seems there is some issue in the cord attached with the lamp. I could find a small cut on the cord due to which electricity is not travelling through the lamp.

At present, there is not sufficient light on my working table, which is hampering me to complete my office work efficiently. Moreover, I do not want to disturb my family members sleep by switching on the room light, considering which I bought the lamp, so that I can focus on my work in the corner of the room.

I have read the terms and conditions mentioned on the box and as per that the lamp is applicable for a replacement as well. As I am a frequent buyer from your shop. I request you to get the lamp exchanged, or get the cord fixed from your mechanic.

Looking forward for a positive response.

    Yours faithfully

    Brainstorming:

    – Delhi, city and UT not a state
    – it is our capital, and people must have correct information for everyone around the globe

    – make changes in next edition with a special column

    Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to inform you about the wrong information published in the July month’s edition of your magazine The Ultimate Travel, about my city Delhi.

I was delighted to read about Delhi in your prestigious international magazine. Everything was described in an amazing manner. However, I would like to bring to your notice that it is mentioned in the article that Delhi is a state, rather it is not a state but the capital city and one of the Union Territories of India.

I believe, it is important to mention it in the correct manner, as Delhi being the capital of India, must be recognised in it’s true sense globally. Your magazine has a reach of readers globally, therefore, it is of utmost importance to write correct information about our capital city. Delhi is known for it’s reputed history and one of the highly advancing metropolitan city, and it attracts a large number of tourists from different parts of the world.

I would appreciate if you will correct this information, and will publish an article in your next months’s edition stating Delhi as the capital city of India and one of the Union Territories.

Looking forward for a positive response.

    Your faithfully

    Andrew

    Dear Sir,

I would like to extend my warm gratitude for the incredible preparations done by your hotel staff throughout the day for our company’s meeting. The staff was very co-operating and humble to everyone present in the meeting. All the participants including our company’s employees and our clients were satisfied with the overall organisation of events one after the other, including sitting arrangements, and cleanliness in the hotel.

However, as per the feedback I received from the participants after the meeting, they seemed to be dissatisfied with the food that was served during lunch. The main concern that showed up, was the limited options for non-meat eaters. Where, there was plenty of variety for meat eaters, vegetarians were provided with only one item. Furthermore, the food served was not hot enough, which lead to people not eating proper lunch and opting for drinks only.

I would advise you to be attentive beforehand with the quality and freshness of the food being served. However, also avoiding any disparity in the variety of food options for both vegetarians and meat eaters . Since, we liked the preparations and your hotel’s staff we would definitely like to hold in-future company’s meetings at your prestigious hotel, if these suggestions would be taken into consideration by your management.

Looking forward for many such collaborations.

    Regards
    Shweta Chhabra

These days, some people are in a belief that we are surrounded by plenty of choices for each and everything. If we pick any aspect of our life, we so have more than one option to choose from, whether it be food, entertainment, travel, heath care, and so on. This essay will shed light on this topic followed by my point of view.

We live in a materialistic world. We have atleast more than one option for everything. For instance, for the birth of a child, these days hospitals have come up with several packages that includes various services, beginning from the delivery of a child to the post-birth photoshoot of the baby. Afterwards, in which prestigious and reputed play school, a child should should be admitted.
However, some people do believe that providing too many choices is not beneficial for the society. Since, this has somehow divided the society, where people with money can choose from various options, whereas poor people have to suffer as they are not left with any option. Such as, heath care systems is also divided and it has become partial for rich and poor. Where rich people are provided with options of personal suites in a hospital for their treatment and those with who do not have much money are not treated well.

To sum up, I believe there should be choices available, but for only those things that does not bring any sort of harm to the society. We should have option to select between good and bad only. Apart from this, too many choices only bring chaos.
