it can be observed from the the graph ,that watching TV was the favourite pastime of older people in 1980s ,which remained at the top up to 2000s but coincided with hiking between 2002 to 2010 ,after which hiking became the activity that people love the most. theatre made second in list followed by reading in which a lot of fluctuation can be seen over the years.

  • My sister and I had been pestering our parents to take us to a picnic on the weekend, but this request was quashed by my father as he was swamped with work. Not only was our cribbing tenuous against my father’s cancelled picnic decision, but also he was very stern about the decision from the beginning. I believe if we have given up , we would not have been able to persuade him for the Sunday picnic .Although being so busy the decision to take us to picnic was unpalatable to him still he forsook his work to take us there. Normally people have the propensity to have picnicked by a popular garden, but we wanted a calm beautiful place, so we agreed to visit the rose garden. I could not sleep the whole night because I was very excited about the picnic and kept recalling if I had packed everything for tomorrow.

We all woke up in the morning to enjoy a scrumptious meal by my mother, after which I felt very sluggish and wanted to take a nap. Our driver was 15 minutes late,so we all hurriedly loaded our bags into the car and embarked on our journey to the Rose garden. The car started making weird noises insinuating that something was wrong, thus 15 minutes into the journey our car came to a halt. Our driver cursed atrociously ,that we we were in a fix. My father flummoxed about what to do consequently decided to push the car, luckily it started. In the end, we finally made it to our destination and had a great time there.

Basic life skills should be taught to teenagers without any discrimination . Although some people believe that routine tasks need to be mastered by people according to their social status in the society, I believe that the knowledge of day to day activities is essential for living irrespective of the cast or gender of the person as it allows them to become independent.

Some people prefer girls to master cooking and look after home, whereas expect boys to acquire skills like self-defense for protection of girls. Moreover ,there is a propensity to believe that women are tenuous who need to be guarded by men ,consequently women should take care of household chores . For example, my friend Meenu was not allowed to enrol into karate classes as her parents contemplated that these classes will be of no use to her in the future. Overall, society has has this preconceived notion about the skills required by men and women .

On the other hand, some people believe in the vital role of knowledge about daily activities in becoming independent. Firstly, it is essential to learn basic skills for teenagers to get by in daily life . Secondly, this not only make them independent but also makes them more confident to tackle obstacle in the future. For example ,my friend Sita is adept in cooking as well as self-defense consequently, making her confident and independent. Furthermore, with the trend of nuclear families increasing and grandparents not being able to look after children, it has become even more essential to learn about routine work substantial for living.

In conclusion, this essay discussed why some people believe that people should be skilled in basic tasks whereas others believe it is not necessary for surviving I agree that everyone should be self-reliant and the old notion of woman cooking and men procuring livelihood for them should be re-approach and criticized.

It is becoming more of a trend for people to invest time to find about the historical significance of the place they live in. This essay will discuss the causes of rising interest of people in previous history of their houses and various methods to accomplish this.

Nowadays people are more intrigued by the history of a place inhabited by them because the new generation is more interested in connecting with roots. Not only does this give them a sense of belonging, but also gives them a chance to connect to the place they live in.Moreover, some people think that knowing about the historic significance, makes them appreciate the place more .for example people make sure to ask the neighbors about the place they live in so that they can adjust to the surrounding.

With the advent of information technology, it has become effortless for people to dig about the past of property they are planning to buy. Not only there are specific websites,, but also you can look up any place on Google and get stories related to that place. Although many people prefer to get information from old newspapers or the neighbors still a significant number of people are hiring private investigators to learn about the previous history of their houses. For example, most of my friends buy property only after looking at historyproperty.com, a very reliable website for getting details about properties. Hence, nowadays one can effortlessly get facts about buildings with information technology.

In summary, this essay discussed the reasons why it is important for people to know about the places they live and multifarious method to obtain data about those places.

  • While some people love celebrating special occasions with loved ones ,others believe it is a waste of resources and is an unnecessary nuisance.Although celebrations are an opportunity to fill one’s heart with jubilation , still it has become a way for people to throw expensive parties and gloat about it .In my opinion society needs to put an end to these sumptuous merrymakings .

Jollymakings are human way of expressing gratitude and sharing exuberance with near and dear ones. Not only does these merriments cause release of endorphins and a feeling of contentment ,but also bring people closer .For example ,people meet after long years dancing together for functions like marriage and birthday parties ,which become remarkable memories.Overall functions bring happiness by bringing people together and giving them a chance to reconcile .

The amount of money people borrow to throw lavish parties can actually be used to secure their future. Thus ,it’s becoming an unwanted evil effecting the peace of life and adding to the stress of throwing ornate and luxurious ceremonies. These traditions to spend hefty sum of money should be quashed ,absolving people’s need to show off expensive parties at the cost of genuine needs . Not only will this keep in check the growing toxic materialism but also actually promote the notion of simple living and high thinking .For example ,Dia Mirza a well-known face of Bollywood kept the expenses of her marriage at bare minimum.

In conclusion although throwing a celebration party for special occasions fills people with felicity but these functions are becoming more of a stage for showoff therefore I believe that celebrations have lost the reason they were held for and are becoming stressful task.

Healthcare sector is facing substantial difficulties due to the rising problem of obesity .Some people believe that physical education should be made mandatory at school. This essay will argue why it is crucial to inculcate the habit of exercise at a young age despite the opposition from some people .

Parents prefer that thier children study hard ,even if it is derogatory to their health .Moreover the pressure of getting into a good college has inclined students to devote more time to cramming subjects as compared to burning calories in the sun .Consequently ,giving rise to the problem of increase in number of overweight people. For instance ,my cousin Ruchi is a total bookworm who hates to exercise and prefers reading quietly in her room, afraid that she might score less than her classmates .Overall extra curricular activities are frowned upon by parents let alone a subject dedicated to excercise .

On the other hand some people believe that regular exercise is a helping hand not only for the health of children but also helps in unburdening the healthcare system .More the exercise the lesser the possibility of becoming overweight, thus nipping the problem at bud stage.Physical education lessons will not only motivate students to excercise but also gain knowledge about the importance of exercise and awareness about weight related disorders . For instance national welfare Society published that people who exercise daily for 15 minutes are 80% less prone to diseases like hypertension and diabetes .Overall addition of physical education is rewarding for children as well as healthcare system .

This essay argues that it is essential collaberate physical education and theory syllabus of schools despite the effect that it might have on their studies .In my opinion I completely agree about the vital role that physical education plays in maintaining a healthy body and decreasing the troubles of the healthcare professionals.

Developed nations should lend a helping hand to indigent nations .Some people believe that the former should support the later so as to improve the overall condition of the poorer nations. This essay will argue why developing nations should support the the underpriviledged countries.

It is expected of affluent countries to help third world countries but it is completely unfair to the taxpayers ,to use their hard earned money for upgrading the health and education system of other countries when they themselves are lagging behind .Moreover ,it is ethically wrong to expect funding from another country because it means Devoiding the citizen of their basic rights . Every developed country does not have enough funds for their own population so how can we expect them to pay for other countries .For example although America is one of the richest countries still American citizens do not have the access to the free medical healthcare ,thus they have to have to buy their personal insurance .In conclusion Rich nations are not morally bound to fund poor nations.

On the contrary the help provided by priviledged countries could make a great deal of difference ,furthermore it would mean better infrastructure and more job opportunities .As well as it would also play crucial role in eradicating diseases from world, prevent world war three and decrease rate of illiteracy .For instance, Ebola would have not spread if not for adequate funding .Thus,to conclude help from rich nations would be beneficial in all aspects.

This essay argued that well off nations should support less fortunate nations ,in my opinion it is essential that the former help the latter as this would be of great significance and world will become a better place to live

Some people prefer high wages while other prioritise work satisfaction. I completely agree that one need to be at peace with job to be happy in life .

Firstly job satisfaction is crucial for mental tranquility because people become sluggish when they’re not at peace with their work .Moreover ,people become sleepy and less energetic if they are not content ,hence reducing thier productivity which is hazardous both for the company as well as the indivisual. Often life becomes monotonous for such indivisuals ,hence hampering thier success .unsatifaction make people suseptible to depression and they become irritable .For example my friend who worked in Google quit his job to follow his passion in singing and is now happily composing songs in Bollywood ,furthermore he is a well-known name in Indian music industry.

Secondly people often exacerbate the importance of money but actually materialistic things don’t make much difference in the far future .Materialism often promotes a fraudulent life sucking out dreams and aspirations out of people hence leaving them hollow and sad inside ,spiralling into a pit of sadness and depression .for example celebrities who lead a luxurious life are often depressed and anxious hence proving money cannot buy happiness

In conclusion i opine that money cannot buy peace and one need to love his job to progress in every prospect of life therefore it is essential to have job satisfaction for mental peace

The given diagram illustrates how water energy is harvested into electrical energy with the help of a turbine which rotates as air moves in and out of the column .

The appropriate location for the structure is a cliff or a sea wall near a water body with waves. Further, the structure is built in such a way that whether the waves move into the chamber or away , it will cause the turbine to move and produce electrical energy .As water moves into the chamber air is pushed out of the column causing the turbine to rotate ,also when wave leaves the shore air is sucked into column again causing the turbine to move ,hence producing energy in the process .

To summarise this structure uses clean energy and coverts it into electrical energy which can be used to light bulbs or for other purposes. In comparison to using coal for production of electricity this is a far better and cleaner alternative for source of energy.

It is common belief that women are good at raising children as compared to men ,hence they should give less attention to working. I completely disagree with this statement because it is a preconceived assumption that women should stay at home whereas men should provide food.

Not only have women achieve success in every field but also have proven their excellent calibre in accomplishment of task assinged to them.Furthermore, women are in general more sincere for duty allotted to them ,therefore they tend to be more hard-working compared to their male counterparts. For example I have seen task forces with women as heads are more likely to succeed .

secondly in developing and underdeveloped countries not only women are given less opportunities but also they are paid less for the same amount of time and work they put in . Moreover, women are expected to work as well as take care of the household chores from catering to the needs of their growing children to cooking all three meals for the day.For example ,a recent study of health welfare Society of India found that 68% of women in India did not get enough sleep because they were overburdened.

In conclusion women have always shown their utmost sincerity to accomplish the task given to them even when they have to work hard with less sleep .

The use of computer at a young age can affect the impressionable minds of children ,not only it promotes laziness but also encourage children to play games online instead of physical excercise. Furthermore, it decreases interaction with family, friends and teachers therefore causing hindrance in development of thier personality .
computers have made information available at the touch of the screen , moreover google has become the personal dictionary as well as information provider . For example children who have had exposure of computer at an early age were found to be more perceptive to learning new abilities compare to those who were not
