Certain populations claim that adverts persuade in buying objects which are not essential while the rest of them believe commercials may update and help create a better lifestyle. I strongly incline towards the idea of a better tomorrow with modern products, but this essay will discuss both views in detail.

First and foremost, it is inevitable to say that advertisements play a vital role in our daily roles, as they bring a wide range of options, however, they have plenty of detrimental effects such as deceptive websites, luring bank loan calls and disruptive mails, one needs to be meticulous. For instance, one of my close friends recently made a huge transaction in exchange for Bitcoins with an online trader which turned out to be a scam and as a consequence, he was bankrupt, and on top of that, he had to face a government lawsuit.

On the other hand, there are a plethora of examples on the later viewpoint where ads are a source of awareness on new products and their benefits since they have a better path in the community by making life easier. To illustrate, Covid-19 is a worldwide battle and various modes of campaigns are running around the globe in intervals of movies, programs, and network hello tunes, especially to raise awareness in every corner.

To summarize, as per the above statements, I agree with the latter statement, and it is needless to say that adverts are one of the sources for grooming and polishing our daily routines. It provides the basic information that is needed so that the customer can research more before buying the product. This caters to the need of the buyer as well as a sense of satisfaction in buying good quality goods.

With the rising popularity of E-books and other modern technologies as appropriate alternatives to books, magazines, and newspapers, it’s conceivable that traditional publications will completely vanish. In my opinion, this hypothesis might be happening based on a few reasons and I will be discussing them in this essay.

Firstly, it is undeniable fact that digital technologies particularly E-books and online newspapers have revolutionized the process of finding and reading books. In the olden days, finding a certain book entailed long hours searching for it in libraries, local bookstores and enquiring about it with friends but now most of the books can be accessed at the click of a button, on top of that it can be listened or read anywhere or can be carried easily anywhere without occupying much space. In addition, E-books are more affordable which helps in managing one’s own library with their favorite books in their portable, light-weighted device.

Further and more importantly, to produce paper for publishing industries, millions of trees are logged every time which causes harm to the environment. The damage includes changes in soil, climatic changes, and habitats being destroyed. For instance, trees in rainforests are home to all the animals, birds, reptiles, worms, and insects. By cutting them down, they lose their dwelling. So, keeping all these in mind, encouraging the people to use digital books and online newspapers by environmentalists is trending now, moreover, this reduces the consequences of logging.

In a nutshell, I believe that E-books and other advanced technologies are great alternatives to the printed ones owing to the advantages mentioned above. Therefore, it is thoroughly possible they will totally take the place of conventional periodicals in the near future.

Most people claim that social media is threatening the conventional person-to-person interaction and that human communication may become extinct, in contrast, certain groups oppose and affirm that using it is advantageous. In this essay, I will discuss both the merits and demerits of this phenomenon.

Primarily, the most important benefit of social networks is proven extremely convenient for information exchange, and this is particularly true when the long-distance relationship is a matter. This might be necessary for families who are apart because of work and studies. In this case, always meeting face-to-face is not possible for all, hence they virtually meet up with video calls or other instant messenger platforms, for example, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. Hence this medium acts as a catalyst in delivering the message to any corner of the world eliminating the geographical distance. Therefore many people think social media brings people from the world closer together.

However, they should never ignore the negativity of excessive usage on social media to exchange socially. Firstly, many people are more familiar and interested in sharing feelings and thoughts with virtual friends and on social media rather than with family or real friends. By doing this, they are alienating themselves which leads to losing the sense of community. Secondly, only by using social networks for interaction, reduction in social skills such as eye contact and body language expressions are reduced. For example, many people are accustomed to using emoticons from online platforms for expressing their emotions, might fail in reading the real-life gestures or mannerisms from their counterpart while having an in-person conversation.

In a nutshell, social media brought unprecedented conveniences to communicate with other people. However, I believe that the drawbacks are stronger than the advantages if we are over-reliant on this way of communication.

It is established by psychologists that colors can impact people’s emotions. Therefore, hospitals and offices are expected to follow the color schemes while decorating. In this essay, we will see whether the above statement is correct or not and to what extent an individual’s working ability is determined by colorful things.

To start with, colors such as white, light green, light yellow are nature friendly and are symbols of cleanliness, healing, and warmth which affect our wellbeing and act as a stress buster. In other words, patients who are suffering from psychiatric disorders like depression and anxiety would prefer to paint the walls using soothing colors which keeps them calm and relaxed. To illustrate, hospitals have white walls for the reason most of the patients react stressed and unsettled towards bright colors when suffering, they would rather prefer low eye catching tones which will eventually change the mood. Therefore, it is quite essential to decorate hospitals that have positive effects on the patients.

Moreover, office buildings or workplaces tend to paint with shiny & bold shades as it may increase the productivity of workers and also does makes people feel energetic and encouraged with active colors. According to a recent survey, 90% of the employees voted in favor of red, orange, and blue to be included in the interior decorations instead of having dull colors like grey and yellow. In a nutshell, the capacity of the workers at the workplace upsurge with the exclusive use of colors.

To end with, colors may bring a change in the lifestyle of people as they have ample strength benefits such as soothing the mind and can also increase the effectiveness of workers.

  • Men are stereotypically considered to be more competitive than women. In my opinion, though this is ostensibly true, competitiveness finds a different expression in womenfolk.

The traditional argument in favor of this claim is that men are predisposed genetically to aggressiveness, the reason being the elevated levels of testosterone hormone, as this was practiced from ancient times in proving their strength with one another and gain dominance in the society which also helped in hunting and to provide for the family. Nowadays in this fast-paced world, this fierceness is found in many ambitious men in their chosen occupation. For instance, men in sumo wrestling games are anticipated to be dominant in their arena, to afford freedom or for that matter, to get married while the low hierarchical males are trained at the stables without any privileges until they reach the leading place.

However, this ignores the fact that women simply have different channels to compete. In the past, there was a tendency to discriminate against women from expressing interests, such as in sports, being an entrepreneur, and in other determining career paths. It is now omnipresent in society to find women chasing dreams, embracing their competitive drive, and striving to achieve their goals similar to men. However, this is merely a redirection of innate desires that were already present. Not to mention, women in the older generations focused their energies on domestic matters which might not seem competitive enough, but they had to compete against each other as well to gain supremacy in society back then.

In a nutshell, despite the evolutionary evidence to support the competitiveness of males, I feel that the sexes are generally equal in this area though women express this desire more subtly. Such narrow stereotyping of both genders is often superficial.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention the camera that I lost on my recent vacation to Switzerland that was covered by the travel insurance I signed for.

The model of the camera is Canon EOS 80D Digital SLR which also had a USM lens kit in the bag. It is black in color and weighs around 1.7 kgs, contains features of 24.1-megapixel + 4K video recording, the outer surface of the camera pouch has spiderman print.

I remember checking the photographs while I was waiting in the lounge, later I bought coffee from the cafeteria and placed it on the next seat to mine, I am very meticulous when it comes to my camera since it cost me a fortune. But once I heard the boarding announcement, I left the place. Only after boarding the flight, I noticed it missing, however, within few hours my brother reached the airport and complained to the security about it, by then it was stolen.

I would like you to expedite the claim process and compensate me as soon as possible to the linked bank account. Attached are an original receipt and a copy of the police complaint filed. Please let me know at the earliest if you require anything else from me.
    I await your prompt service.

    Yours faithfully

    Mithusha S

  • Well, this question reminds me of an event that I could never rub out from my memory. My friends and I had planned a trip on a weekend to a famous temple which lies in the southern part of India, and we scheduled our drive after work which was around 12am, although it was late all of us were excited about the tour, while our medical director had asked 3 of my friends to extend their shift and work since there was an accident nearby and were short of staff to cover. So, we all canceled and postponed the trip for another week and volunteered in the hospital.

As it is recited, calm before the storm, one minute the emergency unit was calm, and then the next minute it was chaos. since I was a first-year general medicine postgraduate student, I was assigned with a patient in his mid-30s who was admitted with 60 percentage of burns from the accident, until then I was never exposed to the burn management unit, however, I knew the treatment plan theoretically for certain degree injuries. I instantly started to treat the patient with first aid care and paged both the primary general medic and the plastic surgeon for a review. The patient was unconscious when arrived and was allergic to multiple analgesics, it was perilous to put him on any pain killers, and I was guided by the senior medic to apply local anesthesia which I did and after 30 minutes the patient was stabilized with electrolytes and end of the day he was back to consciousness with terrible pain, he roared with loud noise and started wailing, it was thundering in the emergency room with all his sound.

He was shifted to a cubicle to keep an eye on, the stress from this and his past anomalies triggered a cardiac arrest, and his pulse was dropping extremely, being his consultant, I was held responsible to start Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the crew from the cardiac perfusion unit has arrived within a few minutes, as a result from the weight I put on his chest, the man’s ribs starting cracking and I started feeling dubious but continued to resuscitate, the whole team got worked up after 27 minutes and that’s when a heartbeat was seen and he held my hand quickly which startled me (it was like displayed in the movies). He was equipped and transferred to the Burn – Intensive Care Unit very soon. I was drained and horrified, it took me a few hours to pull myself together and come out of the trauma. From there the patient was taken care of by the doctors in the ICU, and I only made a few visits to check the infusions and the healing of burns, he always welcomed us enthusiastically with a witty personality. After being treated for few months, he recovered with sequelae and was approved for discharge, he seemed grateful and conveyed his gratitude by throwing a small tea party for saving his life and advised me to live life without regrets and spend time for oneself which he failed to do.

I learned 2 lessons from it, I understood even though I panicked, I acted spontaneously which made me feel proud for being a compassionate doctor and the second lesson was to live life and not just survive, since I watched a man at death’s door, it hit me hard. To be honest, I was pretty devastated for having a petrifying adventure as well as happy for delaying our trip, since we all had a new experience that day, which laid a solid foundation for our career and to treat our patients with empathy. It was indeed a rollercoaster ride but later appreciated as it was one of the most valuable experiences I had in my life and I’m sure that I will remember this even in my last days.

Tourism has absolutely played a major role in increasing the prominence of the English language. Why do some people believe that this will eventually lead to English becoming the only language spoken? In this essay, we shall discuss the benefits and drawbacks of having one language universally.

As it appears that, tourism is an important contributor to the rising economy for many developing countries, the major advantages of having one language universally would make communication easier since the majority of the travelers are from English-speaking countries, and it will let them feel comfortable instead of being anxious. Furthermore, trade and business opportunities between the two countries will be efficient. Likewise, many historical areas which are being unexplored owing to inadequate translators can be avoided. This concept would also bring people all around the world together.

On the other hand, confining local languages would ruin the values and moral beliefs of a nation. For instance, In India, culture, language and heritage are all interlinked and it may affect traditions being heeded from thousands of years maintained by ancestors leading to the extinction of localism. Having said that, it is possible to make English a universal language, but it is dubious if every country can attain fluency and pronunciation to the level of a native speaker. Pragmatically, the richness of world civilizations comes from a variety of languages.

In conclusion, a single universal language is beneficial for every country and improves the relationship among them, but to do so will challenge the ethos, local languages, and may damage the growth of a nation in the future.

This is a discussion regarding the thoughts on students concentrating on all subjects is important, and on the other handful, people believe focusing on the subject where it is his/her strong suit is the best to practice. In this essay, I will discuss both sides of the argument and give my own point of view.

Nowadays, parents and teachers think that all-around development is important to children and they force the child to focus on all the subjects from their school, even though when the child is not interested. For example, many parents focus on scoring the highest marks in their examinations and on being competitive, this might cause a lot of stress to the child, in a long run it affects their interests in studies. Also, there is an advantage, children may be well-equipped to have the ability to enroll in a prestigious university. As a result, there are more opportunities to get a high-paying job.

On the other hand, there are a few advantages and disadvantages of children who focus on their best subject. For instance, if children concentrate on their interesting subject, they might grow to be a professional in that field. Many reports said that when children interest in a particular subject, they do their best on their own and become a specialist in their career. However, there is a drawback. It is said that when a student over focus on only one subject, there is a chance of struggling on other subjects, which eventually might lead to getting very low marks. And exposure to many important skills on survival would be missed when concentrating on only one subject.

In conclusion, children might become specialists in their careers, if they focus on an interesting subject, but I strongly believe that focusing on all subjects is important for their development and creates various abilities to shine. This would help them towards a career in the future.
