    Dear Sima,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m really excited to let you know that I’ve won two holiday tickets; actually, it will be wonderful if you join me at the trip. On top of that, I’ve shared the schedule of the vacation and also mentioned the essential things which we need to carry with us.

For a start, I participated in a lucky draw last week, and won two holiday tickets to Hawaii which is really exciting to me. But, my husband will be out of the town that time due to some office commitments. So, he can’t join me in that trip. To tell you the truth, the next name came to my mind was your name. It will be really amazing if we both can go together and enjoy the trip.

Speaking of the trip timings, we have to start on the 15th of the next month, plus, the trip is for 6 days, which means our return is on 20th. I hope you’ve not planned anything else for that time period.

Another thing is, as winter will be at the door that time, we have to carry our winter attires like sweaters or cardigans. On top of that, some foreign currencies also need to carry for shopping, as Hawaii is one of the most famous shopping destinations.

I look forward hearing from you.

    Lots of love,

Earlier days, the tradition of a community was uniquely reflected by the house structures, but nowadays, most premises across the world look similar and difficult to distinguish them. In my opinion, this trend is due to globalization and increase of the land prices which influences people to construct more cost-effective buildings creating a threat to the community heritage and culture.

Firstly, due to globalization people are getting influenced and adapted by the culture of different countries. As a result, they are being motivated with the mansion designs of other countries. These were not possible in earlier days as they had not much exposure of it. For instance, in the past, in India mostly independent houses were present, but now most of them have turned into multistoried gated communities. Without any doubt, this structure was inherited from the western countries. Furthermore, as a result of globalization, the companies who produce the parts of building materials, selling their products worldwide as they are not restricted to sell those within their home countries. For that reason, people all over the world purchasing those apparatuses and making their houses which look same.

In my view, this trend is unacceptable because all the communities are losing their unique heritage and culture. Additionally, earlier houses were more environment friendly which is not the case in the contemporary era. To illustrate, few years back, usage of air-conditioning was not popular, therefore the buildings had thick walls which could resist the heat. However, the walls of the modern apartments are very thin, and these cannot resist the unbearable hot temperature. As a result, people are using more coolers and AC machines these days which is a main reason of global warming.

To conclude, the attitude towards designing buildings and cities has changed compared to the past, but according to me this trend is non-acceptable as communities are losing their unique heritage and identities.

September 9, 2022 at 12:22 PM in reply to: Task 1 (Letter writing) : Internet connection

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Sebanti, a resident of Brigade Metropolis Residency, Bangalore. I am writing this letter to bring to your notice on the issue we are facing regarding internet connection in the Mahadevpura area of pin code- 560048.

To begin with, we have subscribed the “Silver package”, but during the day time, neither the speed is fast nor we are getting a stable connection at all. To illustrate, if we connect through the LAN cable, the speed is still manageable, but whenever we are connecting through Wi-Fi, the screens get stuck. For example, while opening “google.com”, it takes at least 10 minutes to load the page, even sometimes I get the “404 error connection timed out” error.

Nowadays, we are connecting from our home to the office network to handle the pandemic situation. Therefore, as the VPN is getting disconnected frequently, it is seriously affecting our work. In addition to this, the kid’s schools are also operating on hybrid mode. For this internet issue they are also not able to follow the online class schedule properly.

Lastly, on behalf of the residents of our area, I am requesting you to look into this issue seriously. I would also like to request you to replace the damaged cables and to increase the broadband speed, so that the issue is resolved.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Yours faithfully

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Sebanti Roy, one of your students of the last week cookery class, and I am writing this letter to share my feedback for the same.

Firstly, I want to convey my thanks for the wonderful detailed course which I have attended in your school. In particular, the best part of it was the agenda of the course was fully covered with lot of hands-on examples, and the trainer cleared all our queries in the last doubt clearing class.

Secondly, I am excited to inform you that after the completion of the course I tried different kind of new dishes which were not taught in the class. Although the fondant part was not covered in baking, I tried few fondant cakes at my home, and I also got appreciations from my family members.

Finally, I want to request you for some international cuisine classes especially of the countries like Italy and France, as I want to enhance my culinary skills with some unique dishes.

Overall, this course is really helpful to interns like me and I would definitely recommend this course to my friends.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Sebanti Roy

September 3, 2022 at 12:52 PM in reply to: Task 2 ( Two part question) : local food

These days, most people prefer to taste different kind of cuisines of other countries instead of their own regional meals. In my opinion, although there are few negative aspects on globalization of international cuisines, I would prefer to welcome this trend in the view of its positive aspects.

Firstly, people get a lot of options if they have the variety of dishes from different parts of the world. Secondly, the children of a family are very selective on food, and they are the fussiest eaters. With the options of international food, they will get proper balanced diet which is really necessary for their proper growth and development. Lastly, Continental food provides a lot of healthy options for soups and salads which are preferable diet choices for young generations as they are very health conscious nowadays. For instance, in India, we get the outlets of healthy international restaurants like taco bell or subways in every street, and those restaurants are always busy and crowded as they serve more preferable healthy and tasty dishes for their guests.

Moreover, this trend is extremely beneficial for international businesses, as the food business is not only bounded to the local market as well as it opens the door of other countries. In addition to this, the export and import businesses are also flourishing along this. For example, Indian sweets and different ready to use curry pastes or powders are exported to all over the world which is undoubtedly a great success for Indian businesspersons. So, they are also interested to grow their business to every corners of the world.

To conclude, despite there is a little threat on local cuisines for this trend, but considering the positive sides of it like the healthy food varieties or the international business options, we can tell that this is really a good development.

September 2, 2022 at 9:57 PM in reply to: Task2 (Essay writing) : Office design

These days, most of the organizations are getting designed in open areas, in place of personal office units. This essay will examine the advantages and disadvantages of both open-space and personal areas for work and provide a logical conclusion that advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

First of all, getting help from others is really important for a new joiner in an organization to grasp the working knowledge, and if everyone seat together it becomes easier and effective. Furthermore, this kind of seating arrangement enhances the servant leadership mindset as the manager seats next to the employee which reduces the fear and mental distance between them. Secondly, this kind of seating structure is truly effecting to reduce the operational cost of a company. For instance, Bill gates started his company from a small room, even he did not have enough money to buy furniture as he invested all money to the things which can give him better output and the rest is history that we all know.

On the other hand, there are few negative aspects of seating together like it creates a noisy environment and sometimes it creates a disturbance to work peacefully. In addition to this, the lack of privacy sometimes becomes very disturbing and annoying. For example, during the appraisal time, if an employee is seating next to his manager, there are possible chances that the employee can get confidential information from his manager’s system which can be very dangerous.

To conclude, although open-space design has its disadvantages like lack of privacy or disturbance, it can be easily handled, by installing CCTV cameras; however, the advantages like employee interaction, team building and low operational cost certainly outweigh the drawbacks.

September 1, 2022 at 8:57 PM in reply to: Task 2 (Problem solution) : Brain drain

These days, a high number of skilled professionals are migrating from their motherlands to economically developing nations. These essay will suggest that the biggest problems caused by this phenomenon are scarcity of skilled workers in the developing countries and fear and insecurity among the residents of the developed countries, then argue that attractive salary packages and better health and job security can be the most viable solutions of this problem.

The foremost problem caused by the brain drain is the shortage of skilled workers in the developing counties, which is causing a delay in order to progress these countries. People are born and raised in the poorer countries, but when is the time to give back they are leaving their motherland. Indian villages are still suffering for doctors and poor medical facilities where every year huge number of doctors are graduated from here. Furthermore, this causes a serious fear and insecurity for the people of developing nations as many skilled highly professional workers migrated to their countries which results in job insecurity.

However, some specific measures can help out to solve this burning issue like providing better job and social security. As the jobs in developing nations are mostly dependent on the developed countries, sometimes massive lay-off happens. Developing countries need to produce their own products which will create more job openings, and they no need to depend on other rich countries. In addition to this, the salary structures and the working hours of the employees also should be revised to make it more employee friendly environment.

To conclude, more and more migration of skilled manpower from developing countries to developed countries are causing serious problems but if few measures and changes can be done in developing countries, these can be controlled.

August 31, 2022 at 6:14 PM in reply to: Writing Task 2: Discuss both views (climate change)

It is often argued that global warming affects the business negatively, whilst other disagree and think that it creates more openings in business. While the climate change provides few new business alternatives, I believe that it has a serious effect on human life as well as on business.

On the one hand, there are many new business openings have been created in all over world. A good example of this is the sell rate of Air conditioners, refrigerators increased drastically in the Asian and African countries, where people are not able to cope up with the unbearable heat in summer. Therefore, they are ended with buying air conditioner or refrigerator to survive.

On the other hand, farmers are the most vulnerable group in terms of extensive climate variety. The unpredictable climate change results in poor crop quality, at the same time the lack of rain water or sometimes heavy rain spoils the harvesting which results in great loss in their livelihoods. Recently many plants grew in the deserts of Arabian countries, which is a shocking and unbelievable news. As a result of this, locusts are able to reach India and Bangladesh, and spoils the harvesting in a great extent. Earlier they were not able to do this as they were not able to cross Arabian Sea due to lack of food. But, now they are able to do so as they getting their food from the new plants of Arabian Desert.

In conclusion, although climate change enhances few business areas, overall it impacts overall business negatively, and need serious attention from all of us.

August 30, 2022 at 6:28 PM in reply to: Task 2 (Opinion based) : Capital Punishment

These days crime rate has increased drastically, therefore it is believed that the death penalty is the only way with which the crime rate can be controlled, and which is already proven in many counties of world. I also strongly believe that this is the most powerful way to restrict violence in our country as the capital punishment will create a fear and also will send a strong message to the population.

To begin with, many incidents in the recent days are the examples of imbalanced societies. Those are like killing someone’s own mother or planning a murder of best friend due to immaturity. These incidents can be only controlled if there is a fear of life imprisonment or death penalty as a punishment of such crimes. Young generation will be scared before committing these kind of crime, and the life of innocent people can also be saved. Hence, capital punishment is mandatory to implicate a fear among the people who create such violence.

Moreover, it is also proven in many Asian countries like China, UAE that death penalty is effective for controlling the crime rate, as these countries have very lower rate of violence. In addition with, few countries like Saudi Arabia, Singapore have controlled drug dealing by imposing death penalty. Thus, violence is effectively controlled if the capital punishment is endorsed by a society.

To conclude, in spite of some emotions and agitations against capital punishment, I believe that it is proven to be the best method to make our society witness a much better place to live in.
