    Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to express my utmost apology for not delivering the project on given timeline. This act of mine has led the company to lose its most valuable customer, for which I am extremely upset.

The reason for not submitting the project on time was because my wife met with a major accident last week, for which I blame myself. The trauma I went through that time was immense and my brain had almost stopped working. Not only I had to take care of my wife in hospital but also my ailing mother at home and children. I was under lot of pressure and remorse.

However, I ensure that in future not to repeat this kind of behaviour that can harm company’s reputation. Hereafter, I will keep my team updated on all projects I take so that they can support me and together ensure that deadlines are not missed.

    Please accept my sincere apologies.

    Yours faithfully,

    John Smith

    Dear John,

How have you been? I writing to say that I’m planning to sell my sofa, dinning table and 2 chairs. As you know, I got a job offer in New York so I’ll be moving out of Brooklyn in about two weeks. I won’t be able to cargo all the items hence packing only necessary ones.

While posting on facebook market for selling some items, it suddenly struck me, you were in look out for a sofa and chairs when we last spoke. If you have still not made any purchases, these are still on sale. I have a three sitter sofa made of latex, it’s very comfortable and soft, I’m sure you you will like it. I have two chairs made of teak wood with velvet covering material and cushion below, though one of its leg had broken long ago which I repaired.

Right now I’m a bit occupied with the packing the stuffs and organizing things to take along but I will be free by next week. Please free to drop in any time of the day next week to self check on the condition of the furniture’s. Even if, I’m not available by wife will be here always to assist.

    Hope to see you soon.

    Best regards,

    Smith

Crimes are not new to this world, such incidents have been reported from start of ages. In few countries, although the number of major crimes has gradually declined, yet some individuals feel a sense of insecurity than ever before. This essay will discuss the reasons why this is happening and put forward several solutions to this issue.

The root cause of this problem is that many people are fearful that their safety net will be breached anytime. While the magnitude of unlawful activities has reduced but the types of crimes are flourishing day by day. In the past, we would hear burglary, abduction, murder as major crimes, whereas in present times cyber crime, child abuse, drug trafficking are emerging as serious offences. Lately, we are seeing smart and professional criminals who can blind citizens with sweet talk and gaining their trust thus leading people to share their personal information and fall for their cheat. Furthermore, family and school are no longer considered as a safe place because most crimes are committed within these secured walls in one form or another. Therefore, many people are dreading the safety of their loved ones in present times.

There are many solutions of this problem, firstly, government should implement stricter laws for such serious offenders which implies a minimum of 10 year imprisonment. This will eventually bring a fear among the frequent criminals before committing any offense. Secondly, the citizens should be sensitized from time to time how to keep themselves safe in workplace, home or in public through various campaigns, advertisements on radio and awareness on social media sites. Lastly, the judiciary system needs to be fastened so that people’s faith is restored.

In conclusion, though the crime rates are declining all over the world, individuals are not feeing safe. This can be resolved by taking hard measures in terms of punishment for criminals and spreading awareness among public on keeping oneself safe.

    Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter in response to your email received yesterday asking for suggestions to improve the reception area.

Few clients in the past have highlighted that a newspaper or magazine stand was missing in the waiting lobby since they were ahead of the scheduled meeting but did not know how to pass the time. Secondly, a often heard complaint is the lack of sitting space as there is only one sofa. Many a times, client come along with few of their colleagues and run out of space for all to sit. Lastly, one of the clients pointed out that there should a hat and coat stand because sometimes they want to become comfortable before the meeting.

I certainly think all these complaints should be taken note of and possible solutions must be taken so that whenever clients are visiting our office, they have a pleasant experience. Moreover, to go by the saying, the first impression is the last impression, the clients should feel like home as soon as they enter the waiting hall. Precisely, the reception area ought to depicts a company’s overall outlook, vision and what it stands for.

In this regard, I would like to make a few suggestions, firstly, air conditioning and placing more furniture’s in the room will make the wait more comfortable for clients. Secondly, building a corner for newspaper and magazines can optimize the clients wait. Thirdly, the services can be improved by being proactive in providing tea, coffer or water to clients at there arrival.

Hope you will consider the suggestions.

    Yours sincerely,

    Martin Mathew

The drastic progress in tourism industry throughout the world has led some individuals to believe that English will take over in coming years as the only spoken language in the world. Having one language has it benefits as well as some drawbacks attached to it which we will be discussing in length in this essay.

One major advantage would be that communication around the global will become universal. In other words, a person sitting in North pole can speak to another person in South pole without any barrier of language. This will eventually lead to a sense of unity and oneness among all humans. Other than this, different countries can come together on one global platform to discuss their concerns and assist each other to overcome them.

On the other hand, having a same world language would result in disappearance of many traditions and cultures. To elaborate, all over the world, there are more than 1000 indigenous groups which function mainly on regional dialects, forcing them to use English will be unethical as it will be tough for them to adapt to a new foreign language. Furthermore, tourism will be adversely affected since there is not much left to see and enjoy the culture of other country. For example, India is a multicultural and multilingual country, if it has a uniform tradition following one language, there is no point visiting other States for tourism. As a result, the tourism will go down and the economy of the country as well.

To conclude, English can be spoken across the globe for ease of communication and documentation of official work but emphasizing it as the only language will just lead to vanishing of many ancient regional languages and dialects. Therefore, there should be a balance in usage of languages.

October 21, 2021 at 5:21 PM in reply to: Writing Task 2: Problem -solution (life expectancy)

In the first world countries, the average population of older citizens is higher. The major reason for this is the advancement in the medical field and the increased funding from government in the health sector. Few suggestions that can be implemented by the authorities to tackle this problem.

Firstly, when the life expectancy improves, it has a direct impact on people and its communities. The government will have to build more old age homes to accommodate the rising population of elderly. This will result in more expenditure from authorities which will lead to economic burden on the nation. Secondly, individuals will have to bare the additional expenses from their pocket to take care of the aged and invest time for their treatment. Thirdly, as the population will increase this will decrease the national budget for education, sports and others sectors since authorities have to keep aside a major percent of the budget for health sector.

There are certain steps that the decision makers can take to address this rising issue of the aged. Mainly focusing on reducing the pension of senior citizens will lessen the burden on government. Besides this, they can also think on revising the retirement age and offer some post retirement plans so that they can engage themselves in some income generation work. This will eventually support in nation building and the aged group’s motivation levels will rise.

In conclusion, if the authorities consider these suggestions of introducing post retirement plan and re look at the retirement age, the government should not worry about the economy of the country.

October 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM in reply to: GT Letter Writing Task 1: Formal Letter

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to give my feedback on our recent meeting organized in Landspark Hotel on 23rd October.

My colleagues were very pleased with the venue I choose for the meeting as the ambience was quite ravishing. During the short break, they got a chance to play the billiards which was right outside the meeting hall. The waiters were coordinal and the technical team made the day go smooth without glitches.

While taking feedback from my team, many of them pointed on the quality of food served during lunch. Especially the main course was disappointing according to the survey we conducted. It was mentioned that the vegetable curry was unexceptionally spicy and the rice served was over cooked. Though they enjoyed the desserts.

In this regard, I would like to suggest that more attention can be given to tasting the food after it is cooked by the head chef so that such mishaps does not happen. Moreover, hiring some specialized regional chefs would do more justice to indigenous food.

I hope you consider my request.

    Yours faithfully,

    John Smith
