The bar graph provides the information relating to car theft per thousand for vehicles in Great Britain, Sweden, France and Canada from the year 1990 to 1999. Overall, it shows Great Britain had the highest number of robberies throughout the given period in comparison to other countries. The bar graph shows France and Canada which began from figures of approximately 8 and 7 per thousand respectively declined to a final figure of around 5 per 1000 in 1999 with minor fluctuations over the period.

On the other hand, Sweden crime rates shows a rising trend from 8 to 13 per 1000 vehicles in 1999, surpassing France and Canada in mid-1990 and 1991 respectively.

In contrast to this, the number of car robberies in Great Britain grew up from about 17per 1000 to the peak value of approximately 20per 1000 in 1996 except for a brief fall during 1992-1993.

Nowadays, many schools are taking initiative of rewarding students rather than punishing them because it is believed that students when bestowed, will stimulate their performance instead of penalising them. In my essay, I’ll support my arguments in favour of this view.

In the growing years of person’s life when he/she is facing life’s challenges to keep up in the society. There are lot of schools, coming up with idea of rewarding students because of several reasons such as overall personality development, self-discipline, optimism, motivation and many more. Although, overall personality development and optimistic are the most prominent reasons which will help a student to become a better person. So, keeping this in mind, most schools are adopting the practice of bestow instead of punishing them. As this will encourage students to feel motivated when they awarded prizes for their performances. Consequently, boost their confidence and make them feel valuable. For example, many schools have started giving certificates of participation to students who participated in the competition which will uplift their extracurricular activities and motivates them to be more participative.

Admittedly, being awarded will stimulate their confidence and help them to become optimistic in life, while enhancing their interpersonal skills among their peers. Thus, punishment doesn’t seems to be a solution for a students, in fact it will impact them in a traumatised way. For example, when students are punished often for their behaviour or any misconduct, it will inhibit the feeling of anxiety, embarrassment and makes diffident personality among their peers. Therefore, rewarding students is much better than punishing them for their physical well being as well as mental health.

In conclusion, I can completely support this view because of above reasons and strongly believe that schools adopting the practice of rewarding a students with prizes rather than punishing them help them in achieving excellence.

The diagram shows how electricity is generated through wave power.

The figure ‘A’ depicts that we can generate electricity from high tide wave with the help of cliff or sea wall. As we can see here, when a wave hit the sea wall or cliff seems it creates an air pressure which goes into upward direction in the long passage denoted by column and moves the turbine anti-clockwise, due to this mechanism an electricity is generated.

On the other hand, in figure ‘B’ the situation changed drastically, when there is low tide, here when wave hitting the sea wall goes away, the process change its direction in downward direction creating an air pressure to go back towards the wave which makes the turbine move into same direction. This process helps in generating electricity.

Overall, the process of suction into chamber and retreating back with the help of sea wall or cliff which acts as a barrier to create this suction. Thus, this mechanism helps in generating electricity from wave power.

February 28, 2022 at 10:29 AM in reply to: Task 2 ( discuss both the views) : University or Job

Learning is a lifetime process, and it has been debatable subject in the society wherein some people believe that studying through college or university education is must after school as it helps in building a successful career while others believe that it is better to go for a job right after school.

In the growing years of students life, the best choice he/she could go for is studying at university or college because it act as boon in their overall development and prepare them to face the real world challenges, also helps them to socialise, become creative, maintaining consistency and self discipline. Besides, it makes students to become expertise in a specific field while expanding their domain. Therefore, college education is must for a successful career. For example, if a students wants to join a profession like doctor, lawyer, Chartered Accountant, etc, then it necessary to study in university or college to become such a professional. Thus, it is essential for students right after school to attend colleges or universities.

On the other hand, going for a job right after school is appealing for several reasons like it makes a person independent and gain real life experience. As a teenager, it helps a person to become independent as he/ she earning their source of income rather than relying on parents to meet their needs while also learning practical experiences of life. For example, Some people join their family business right after school because their only focus is to grow their family business for which there is no need to join college education.

By concluding it, the above reason provide a solid evidence on both views but in my opinion, studying in college or getting education from a university is best option rather than getting a job right after, as it helps in attaining better career opportunities while also enhancing our overall development.

February 22, 2022 at 9:05 PM in reply to: Task 2 : GM foods (agree/disagree)

In this era of globalisation, where world’s population is rising gradually, the biggest matter of issue these days is to ensure enough foods to all the people, so that problem of food scarcity doesn’t occur and the feasible solution to tackle this problem is the utilisation of Genetic modified technology in food production as believed by some people. Therefore, I completely agree with this view as it will improves nutritional content and longer shelf life of foods.

Primarily, Genetic modified techniques adapted by various countries all over the world, as it involves various benefits. To begin with, improvement in the nutritional content of the vegetables or consumable foods considerably one of the main reason genetic engineering of these foods has been accepted. Since, many chemical tests has been conducted or experiments been made though this technique to make the food more healthy and edible for consumption by going denser into the quality ingredients. For instance, Japan’s Scientists are conducting various experiments to enrich those foods produced by genetic modification like tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, and many more.

Secondly, another most important reason among various food manufacturers is to give food a longer shelf life, so that it can enhance the natural qualities of vegetables, yielding crops, fruits, etc., and would be consumed for longer period of time. Furthermore , this would also enhance faster growth of plants and animals. Consequently, reducing the problem of food scarcity, for example, the nutrients content in Rice have been modified so that it would minimise deficiencies and enhance Vitamin A elements.

Thus, by summing up we can consider, genetic modified foods benefits the society by adding the nutritional value and increasing the shelf life of foods for better quality consumption.

Thus, introducing the idea of wearing a uniform which may have its advantages as well as disadvantages. We are going to discuss about this in our essay.

To begin with, there are several advantages of wearing uniform at workplace. Firstly, it would help in creating uniformity and equality among staff members as it won’t promote any discrimination, create a sense of togetherness towards one another and that leads to team building, strengthen unity, which is beneficial for the companies in the long run. February 10, 2022 at 2:09 PM in reply to: Task 2 (Opinion Based) : community service

One of the most controversial issues today relates to whether the high school should make unpaid community service mandatory as part of the programmes. Many parents are of the opinion that it will be beneficial to the students in their overall development and I totally support this view because of several reasons.

There are quite a few advantages that community service brings to the youngsters. Firstly, it is extremely helpful in developing inter-personal skills and secondly, it will develop a sense of social responsibility among students. The unpaid social work will make them understand the societal problems in more natural way with no personal gains. It will encourage students to become a better person who will be more understanding, rational thinker, positive in their approach. Besides this, it also plays an important role in their studies and job opportunities because working from early age help them to develop their communication skills with others and the skills to resolve their issues which could be an added in their resumes. For example, various schools have introduced go green programme where students were given responsibility to plant trees not just in schools but all around their community, would spread environmental awareness. Also providing medical aid to needy and poor person, teaching sports to teenagers and some charity work are some other activities which should be enhanced and help them grow.

Moreover, it will also develop a healthy environment when more of these activities are performed. This way, it gives children or students a progressive society, creating positivity in their minds, make them aware about the realities of life which will expand their knowledge, improvement in personalities of students, also it’s a good way of introducing skilled and smart individuals to community. Thus community service bring forth a healthy and prosperous environment.

In conclusion, I think that community service should be implemented in the high school programmes.

Nowadays, Manufacturers and supermarkets use different kinds of techniques for packaging the goods to attract more customers but it’s highly impacting the environment. So, it has been a debatable topic between people wherein some say it’s the manufactures and supermarkets which must be held accountable while others believe that it’s the customers liability to refrain the usage of packaged goods.

Although, manufacturers and shopkeepers are the prominent authorities who should be held liable in the production of packaged goods, because to attract more customers and earn higher profits they are highly involved in this activity which ultimately causing lot of problems like plastic packaging is a health hazards for our natural habitat, increasing risk of waste material leads deposition of pollutants, exhaustion of natural resources. Besides, government by providing some beneficial schemes and creating awareness can curb this activity.

On the other hand, goods are being produced for the consumption of customers. So, it’s the customers who should be more aware about the harmful impacts of packaged goods and they should take steps to refrain from using such products. Also, if consumers start avoiding these packaged goods then it will affect those companies who are producing the packaged goods and help them change their way of selling goods. For example, in present times, there are quite a number of consumers who are attractive towards banana packaging, recycling of goods, also Vegan products are more prevalent these days, by people who believes in the sustainable development of the world. Hence, it’s the consumers ultimately which could make a difference towards the usage of packaged goods.

Overall, manufacturers & supermarkets as well as customers, both are equally responsible, and by being more aware and restricting its usage overall along with making efforts to stop this practice and help in maintaining the ecological balance.

January 24, 2022 at 12:41 AM in reply to: Task 2 (discuss both views)- Protecting environment

Humankind has always been concerned about protecting and preserving the environment. As the world is advancing with time, there has been ongoing debate between people that protecting the environment is the responsibility of government bodies while others believe that it’s the responsibility of the individuals. In this essay both sides of the argument will be discussed including my opinion as to why it is essential for both to protect the environment.

Firstly, I believe government plays a primary role in protecting the environment because it act as the leader of the country, who can make policy to protect the environment while creating awareness programmes in the society. But it can only be done when there is strict implementation of laws like controlling the activities of industrialists who produces harmful gases, planting more trees, reducing risk of pollution emitted through commercial activities. For example, New Delhi has always been counted as the major polluted city in India which is gradually degrading it’s environment but Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr.Arvind Kejriwal, took steps to curb this pollution like by adopting the odd-even method which helped in reducing Air quality index of Delhi, planting trees on public ways, etc., Therefore, it’s the government authorities only which can make a difference by following a strict action plan to improve the environment and implementing it.

On the other hand, as individuals or as a citizen of the country, it is our fundamental duty to protect our environment. As an individual can only improve the environment and balance the natural habitat. This could be done by creating awareness among people, planting trees, more usage of renewable energy and less usage of fossil fuel etc., for example people should use more of a public vehicles than their personal vehicles for shorter distances and it will help us in reduction of carbon emission. These are some ways individual must follow to protect the environment and save us from environment degradation.

By concluding it, I would say both are equally responsible for the protection of an environment and everybody must work, be it government or an individual because together only we can keep the environment in their natural habitat and save our ecosystem.

  • The bar chart provides information about the population data of seals, whales and dolphins in Gormez Strait from 2006 to 2018.

Overall, it can be seen that the population of dolphin has been rising for the past 12 years while the population of seals and whales were fluctuating from 2006 to 2018.

The population of seals in the year 2006 was the highest at around 42, however, for the year 2010 it dramatically declined to almost 25 in number which was still higher than dolphins in that year. But by 2018, the dolphins population ended up standing more than 50 thus outraced the population of seals which stood at 45.

In 2006, there were approximately 25 whales in the Gormez Strait which managed to remain steady at a figure between 20 & 30 with only minor fluctuations over the period.

However, dolphins figures showed a dramatic rise in their number throughout the period, it started off from its lowest size of approximately 18 in 2006 and then gradually rose above 50 to the end of the period.
